Twisted Wonderland x Yo-kai Watch Crossover - Yo-kai Watch: Twisted Story

Summary: Average 5th grader Nate Adams has a secret: he is a holder of a Yo-kai Watch, which allows him to see and befriend spirit-like creatures called Yo-kai. Ever since he obtained his Yo-kai Watch, life had never been the same, but getting sent to a magical all-boys high school in another world is weird, even for him. At least he still has his Yo-kai friends to back him up until he can return home, and considering the people he’ll be having to deal with, he’ll need all the help he can get.

DISCLAIMER: This fic will be largely based on Yo-kai Watch 1, since that is what I'm most familiar with. I might sprinkle a little bit of the first season of the anime, though.

Grim vs. Jibanyan

(After Grim opened Nate's Gate) Grim: Just gimme your uniform, and be quick about it! 'Cause if you don't... you're gonna regret it! (breathes fire) Nate: (dodges) We'll see about that! Come on out, my friend! Calling Jibanyan! Yo-kai Medal, do your thing! Yo-kai Watch: Summoning... Charming! Jibanyan: (summoned) Huh?! Nate, where are we?! Grim: Grr... So what if you've got a stupid talking watch and a two-tailed cat! You're no much for Grim, sorcerer extraordinaire! Jibanyan: We'll see about that! NYA! (pounces on him) Grim: MRAAAAGH! (Jibanyan proceeds to beat the daylights out of Grim, forcing him to retreat for a bit to recover. Without Grim around, Nate and Jibanyan wander around and eventually find Whisper, who decided to also wander to gather information while Nate was in his Gate.)

Enter the Yo-kai

(After Grim started setting everything on fire to show off his magic) Nate: Seriously? I thought these guys were supposed to have magic. What's taking so long? Whisper: Unfortunately, few of them seem all that competent or willing to take initiative, and even then, I see a lack of cooperation. Jibanyan: Hey, Nate. Should I help them out? Nate: Sounds good. I'll find a way to put out the fires. (As Jibanyan takes off after Grim, Riddle, and Azul, Nate pulls out Walkappa's Medal. He speaks quietly to try not to draw attention.) *Come on out, my friend. Calling Walkappa. Yo-kai Medal, do your thing.* Yo-kai Watch: (loud enough for everyone to hear) Summoning... Charming! Everyone besides Nate and the Yo-kai: What's happening?! (Nate holds out the Yo-kai Watch, and a pink spiral of runes comes forth as Walkappa is summoned.) Yo-kai Watch: ♫ Alarming! Boom, boom, walla, walla, dance, dance, Charming! Walkappa: What up, Na- Why is everything on fire?! Crowley: WHAT IN TWISTED WONDERLAND IS THAT THING?! Students: What was that song playing from that kid's watch? Why did the Dark Mirror say he didn't have magic? Nate: Walkappa, you think you can help? Walkappa: Leave it to me, Nate! Mega Waterfall! (Uses his Soultimate to put out the fire, also drenches Grim by accident) Grim: (sputters) Mrah! My trademark flamin' ears! Jibanyan: Alright! Nyow, take this! Walkappa: Count me in! (Jibanyan, with help from Walkappa, beats up Grim for the second time that day, which gets Grim caught by Riddle.)

What are Yo-kai?

(In the library after the entrance ceremony) Crowley: The only explanation on why your home isn't on any map is that you're from another planet or dimension. Nate: Makes enough sense to me. It wouldn't be the first time I'm in another world. Crowley: If that is out of the way, please answer my question: what are your strange familiars? Nate: They're not my familiar, they're my friends. We call them Yo-kai. Whisper: Here is an introduction video, if you'd like. (Whisper shows Crowley an "Introduction to Yo-kai" video on his Yo-kai Pad.) Video: Unexplained occurrences happen every day. But if you possess the Yo-kai Watch, you will have the amazing, and rare ability to see the elusive Yo-kai: invisible, spirit-like entities responsible for life’s daily annoyances. But beware: when a Yo-kai enters your life, things will never be quite the same. Crowley: I see... But everyone at the entrance ceremony was able to see them. And how were you able to summon one? Nate: Yo-kai give Medals to humans as a sign of friendship, and I can summon them by inserting their Medals in the Yo-kai Watch. Whisper: It is quite strange that you can see us, though. While there are some with the ability to see Yo-kai without needing a Yo-kai Watch, the ability is extremely rare. Jibanyan: Maybe it has something to do with this world having magic? Walkappa: Yeah, back in our world, mostly only Yo-kai have magic, and since most humans can't see us, they don't know magic exists. Crowley: Well, this is quite the predicament, but since you've revealed the Yo-kai, I suppose it wouldn't hurt if you keep summoning them. Just try not to cause a commotion. Now, to work out your living situation...

Whisper: Does anyone here know anything about a place called Twisted Wonderland? Nate got sent here and now it seems like he's stuck at a magical all-boys high school. Jibanyan: he can still summon us just fine, tho Walkappa: yall it's crazy here. we had to fight this weird fire-breathing cat, and based on his aura, he's not a yokai Roughraff: well? dont skimp out on the details! Tattletell: Agreed, dearies. Cadin: How's Nate holding up? Jibanyan: he's taking things pretty well for now Kyubi: ... WHY are you in Twisted Wonderland? HOW did you get there? Rattelle: Kyubi, please share with the class Baku: lol Mirapo: lol Noko: LOL Kyubi: Ignoring that, Twisted Wonderland is another world different from Nate's world and the Yo-kai World. Magic exists there, so ordinary people can see us, so you should keep your guards up. Jibanyan: too late for that Kyubi: Really? Walkappa: lol Whisper: Any way for us to return home? Venoct: That is definitely the most pressing issue. Kyubi: I've been there before, it's about 1 hour by train. Whisper: Say what now? Jibanyan: HuH? Tattletell: Give us more details, dearie. Kyubi: It was some 50 years ago. I was bored. It's 1 hour to get to the Spectral Realm (the ghost realm of Twisted Wonderland) by train, then however long it takes to get where you need to go from there. Same goes for the reverse. Buhu: What about Nate? Kyubi: He's human, so he won't be able to go home through the Spectral Realm unless he dies. Jibanyan: WHAT Walkappa: HUH? Buhu: OH NO Dismarelda: The poor dear! Happierre: He'll be alright, he has us! Cadin: Whisper, tell Nate that if he needs me, he can call me anytime Draggie: Same goes for me! Blazion: ME TOO! Rattelle: Your caps lock is on darling, but also me Whisper: @ everyone Nate's stuck in another world for the time being, and it takes at least 1 hour to get back to our world if he summons us. Keep this in mind for the foreseeable future. Jibanyan: THAT STUPID FIREBREATHING CAT IS BACK Roughruff: ain't u also a cat Negatibuzz: with fire magic, no less... Jibanyan: I'M AN AWESOME ONE, THIS ONE ISN'T Walkappa: i'm signing off for now Whisper: Same goes for me. We'll keep you guys posted here, please do the same for home. Dismarelda: Nate's parents are going to be worried for him. My honey and I will watch over them for the time being. Happierre: Leave that to us! Whisper: Well, that settles that. See you all later.
