"You're leaving? After all that?"
Samuel keeps looking around the room, grabbing what he can, ignoring the guilt trip that MacCready was trying to give him. Samuel had made up his mind. He couldn't stay here any longer.
"Can't convice a coward to change his stripes," Hancock throws in. The ghoul was sitting in the corner in a chair, sucking on a Jet inhaler.
"You said you were going to help me!" MacCready says, grabbing his arm. Samuel shrugs him off. "What about Duncan? You said you were going to help me find a cure!"
"That's why I don't keep promises," Samuel mutters under his breath, slinging his bag over his shoulder. He turns toward MacCready. "I can still help, just not in the Commonwealth."
Sam can see that it didn't matter what he said to the mercenary now. He had been hurt and betrayed. Just like Hancock.
"How can you help when everything's lead here? The cure is here!"
"And if it's not?" Samuel says. "You'll be moving again anyway-" Samuel hits the floor faster then he realizes MacCready was going to hit him. The long table filled with chems flew across the room. MacCready was gone before Samuel returned to his senses.
"Well, well. Looks like the 'mungo' didn't appreciate your support of abandoning his child," Hancock replies. Samuel glares at him, but he's not looking in his direction.
Samuel stands, not having anything to say to his remark and follows MacCready out the door. He watches him storm in the direction of The Third Rail. Back to his hole, he thinks. Samuel wouldn't stop helping MacCready. If not looking for the cure here, then at least trying to create one. That was something he couldn't do here, not without the right assistance and not with the Brotherhood now nosing in. And with most of the facilities in the Commonwealth encroached with Gunners and Raiders...
Samuel hopes that MacCready would find the help he needs, for Duncan. Because to Samuel, actually finding what he was looking for sounded too good to be true.
And if that cure was real, Samuel hoped he found it before the Brotherhood did.
This is Samuel. The character I had dedicated to to making sure I had Hancock as a companion. The “Samuel Adams to John’s Hancock” was something just said and I regret everything.
His story was supposed to be that he was the Lone Wanderer from FO3(And thats why I was all fudged up about the 200 years).
ANYWAY. He was the Lone Wanderer from FO3, and he ends up leaving the Capital Wasteland and makes his way to the Commonwealth looking for jobs. He comes across Goodneighbor, and gets hired by Bobbi No-nose.
He remains loyal to Bobbi, and is in agreement with her opinions about Hancock. (”Untouchable? *laughs* I guess that makes you his poking stick?”) His opinions doesn’t change of Hancock immediately, after having taken care of Bobbi afterwards. (”Even after all your talk, you still need a 20 foot broomstick to take care of your garbage.”)
Samuel stays around the Commonwealth a few years and leaves after the Brotherhood of Steel arrives as he didn’t get along with them in the Capital Wasteland.
He comes back a few years later, and in a bout of nostalgia, raids Hancock’s storage supply again.
And that’s all she wrote. So far anyway. Still a sort of work in progress. He does happen across the LS(Natalie/Tyler) a few times but otherwise doesn’t quite make their acquaintance until the Brotherhood arrive, at which point he doesn’t talk to them again(Natalie being Institute and Tyler being BoS).
Samuel never has any children, and in the Memory Den quest, he relives watching his father die.
His name isn’t actually Samuel Adams(I just thought it was funny). After getting a history lesson from a Tour bot(to learn about the original John Hancock), he joking started calling his raid with Bobbi the ‘Sugar Act’.
