Okay, sorry for the late reply, it’s been a busy time.

I’m starting uni in less than a month now and I honestly don’t know how to feel about it. Partly I feel curious and eager to learn things that I’m passionate about, to move my outside life in a new bigger city, to be able to organize my schedule myself, and I’m happy I don’t have to see my classmates anymore since most of them were insufferable people to be around. But on the other hand, fear and worries aside, I’m really sad about not going to high school anymore. I had just started liking my school in the last year and a half, so having to leave it now is a really shitty timing. Plus, I have met some amazing people this last year, and the possibilities of getting to know them properly narrowed down a lot, since I won’t be able to meet them during projects having finished high school. I’ve recently asked one of these people out, so we met up and had a lot of fun, and I really hope she’ll reach out to me again since she herself mentioned seeing each other again.

So yeah, sorry if the reply to the ask game is kinda anticlimactic.

what defines conscience? if the mechanical laws of physics say that all matter is pushed to movement by matter, and matter only, is conscience material? would an A.I. filled with the entirety of your memories (and those alone) and the ability to act consistently with what you would do be you?

i remember i had a discussion about this forever ago, but i don’t remember what we decided. anyway, going by your stipulations, then... yes, it must be? or chemical, at least. (which leads to quite an interesting discussion on free will or lack thereof, but anyway.) as for the AI -- i mean, is it physically identical to me? it may have my memories and it may be able to act consistently with how i would, but that doesn’t mean it would receive the same reactions to the ones i would, and i do think its physical appearance has at least something to do with that. so the answer is... maybe?

I find no beauty in the situation im in right now. im struggling mentally and emotionally and i feel very alone. my life is a shitshow right now but im trying to make the best of it
