Oh man, so been meaning to try out some video editing with these boys.  They steal my heart I swear!  Just some practice, not official stuff.  Hope you like.

In case anyone is wondering where Ward Meachum is..

"Release Ward Meachum. We know you're keeping him here." Danny said firmly.

"Keeping him? Wow wow slow down..."

"We traced his phone to this place. You kidnapped him."

"Kidnapped him?" Malcolm turns around and calls into the apartment. "Ward? Please get out here before Danny punches me."

And Ward just walks out there book in hand looking relaxed in a Henley. Hair still pristine but with a stubble.

"Ward?" Danny says disbelieving. "You know Malcolm?"

"Yes."

"Oh.." Danny says watching Malcolm standing close behind Ward as if watching him. Making sure he doesn't get hurt.

"You're friends." Danny suddenly realizes.

"Yes." Ward replies.

"We have more in common than you'd think. Including the super powered friend." Malcolm explained.

"How do you guys even know each other..?"

"If you'd spend more time at the office you'd know Malcolm consulted for Rand for a short while. When the consultation fell away I found myself missing our talks. So I called Malcolm. We've been friends since."

"You're friends with Ward?"

"Yes." Malcolm replies looking confused. It's obvious by now.

"Ward doesn't have friends. He.. has a stick up his ass. Thinks he's to good for everyone. Always angry and hostile. All he cares about is work."

"You don't really know him do you?" Malcolm asked Danny. Ward looked away surprised at Malcolm defending him. Even now being so comfortable in their friendship.

"It's alright Malcolm." Ward said touching Malcolm's hand gently. And Danny spots it. It's the first time he's seen Ward touch someone who wasn't Joy with any kind of affection.

"No.. look I'm not in denial. I know who Ward was... what he did. He told me..."

Danny falters there. He was so sure Malcolm was in the dark. And yet he knows. Everything.

"But he's different now. Pain and loneliness does something to a man."

Malcolm said. "But he's not alone anymore. And now you want to draw him into more vigilante crap."

"Joy is back.."

Ward freezes at that. Malcolm places a hand on his back gently when he spots his facial expression.

SuperMan AU// Last son of Krypton: Malcolm Ducasse and Reporter for the Daily Planet: Ward Meachum

  Ward watched as Malcolm spoke Kryptonian to the small boy.  That rogue pod that landed just outside Metropolis was this boy’s last memory of his home.  The one that exploded over twenty four years ago.  The Phantom Zone contained him and his mother inside a temporal stasis for all that time.  Ward's swallowed as he considered what this boy had gone through.  He too knew what it was like to lose a mother.  But to make it all the way to this planet, only to die on impact, it was almost too much....   Though the boy was upset at first, the shared language Malcolm spoke seemed to calm him in this cold grey interrogation room in the DEO.  He looked so much like Malcolm.  They were family, both members from the House of El.  Both the sole survivors of Krypton, and now each other's only family.  Ward hoped he could at least be a part of this.  To help Malcolm in any way he could.  To help the man, the super man, he loved.
