After playing through Jade Shadows Constellations, it's changed how I view The Twins' animations.
Like at first, I read their swap out animations as a very hostile "Get out my fucking way dickhead!"
But now I'm reading it as just them kicking each other out of the way, cuz one of them has an idea and the battle is too frantic to allow for ease of communication between them.
Like, it's gone from Dante and Vergil during the original Devil May Cry trilogy to Dante and Vergil at the end of Devil May Cry 5.
Just two brothers keeping each other on their toes while kicking ass together
Vena and Ryoku being potentially recruitable for Railjack sounds fun, really. Hell, more Railjack content sounds fun, maybe people in pubs will finally bother learning what forward artillery is (seriously a few days ago I had a mr26 player who was clueless about it. And also about the final objective during volatile. Which is literally written in front of your face. And Cy literally tells you what to do. Where do you have to hold your head to not- aughhhh).
But if the new protos on the deck will be as useless as liches (neither capable of doing railjack-specific tasks nor possible to equip with my weapons to do respectable damage instead) then I'm sorry, but I will have to stick with my random syndicate weirdos Ticker found in the trash and will never escape hearing an arbiters nerd yelling "I HAVE TAKEN ANOTHER LIFE" when spamming the ever-loving shit out of his kuva zarr, because someone forgot to apply celestial twin/warframe specters ammo economy to railjack crew, so these guys can carry ETA stage defense by themselves
All the new stuff is cool but honestly I am the most excited for Hunhow. He's finally breaking containment maybe and his VA is legendary so I can't wait. This hopefully will make up for not getting him in The Old Peace!
I was already disappointed about the third orb mother being killed off but the way they handled it is just insult to injury
no fan fare or spectacle you just show up and its already dead (honestly i wouldn't be surprised if most players who didnt watch the original trailer didnt even realise you were fighting ontop of a dead orb mother since the game never acknowledges it and the arena is just a bunch of random metal plates scattered around and floating for some random reason) you're there for one quick fight and then you leave and never come back because the orb vallis and the orb mothers dont have any actual relevance to the plot
Theres no real reason the opening even had to take place on the orb vallis, it could have taken place on any star chart tileset with an open sky and almost nothing would have changed
The closest you could make to a connection is this update being tied to the corpus, but even then what very little we're given of this extremely vague bad future plot line is only ever tied to parvos who has no real connection to the vallis or the orb mothers
It makes this seem less like a carefully crafted and thought out plot point and more like DE just wanted an excuse to get rid of the 3rd orb so they wouldn't have to make the boss fight
And what makes the loss of the 3rd orb as a potential new boss so disappearing isnt just that its a boss fight thats been teased at us for almost 8 years now but also that this was our one and only tangible thread for new narmer content and now its just gone
You know the narmer that faction DE introduced in there biggest quest ever as a new major player only to then immediately forget about after a single follow up update and who have only been mentioned exactly once since
I find it really funny that Sorren travelled all the way to our Orbiter, not to ask Umbra for help in bringing his kids in line.
But to get him to babysit the twin's present day self.
"You are here.... to watch the baby." I spent a good few seconds staring at the screen as I processed that upon hearing this.
Hunhow must've spent the time before Umbra arrived at the lair practicing the delivery of that line because he realized he could use this as a chance to troll one of his old enemies.
Like, wait, what? You mean I'm not going to use Umbra to beat one of the Twins over the head until he starts behaving?
But seriously? I quite liked the idea: Umbra was a father after all and he and Sorren both know what it's like to have served The Orokin and then be mistreated and transformed by them against their will.
So, it makes sense they'd have some sort of comradery and that Sorren would be more comfortable seeking him out and not the Operator or Drifter.
Plus, I'm fairly sure neither The Operator or Drifter know how to look after a baby.
I know theres technical reasons why one of them had to be the "default" but its still very funny to me
Man that really was jade shadows 2 huh?
Answered almost no questions and instead just raised a bunch more
