Okay forgive my rant, but when was the last time the Drifter had any sort of love shown to them, platonic, familial, or otherwise? They grew up on the Zariman, alone to the point that they brought a fictional place in the void to life. Sure there were times there that they could have felt companionship for a while, but it was all created so that the drifter wouldn't be alone.

Not to mention that their creation ended up turning on them and their own emotions became physical manifestations.

Then they finally escape their hell and get thrust into a war that is the operator's, but they still fight because it's what they do. The lotus then sends them back in time to go after Entrati and the operator stays behind. She clearly loves the operator more than the drifter.

So pardon me, but i got stuck in a spiral of imagining the drifter receiving snippets of love from each of the protoframes and they just don't know what to do with it.

Arthur giving them a small smile and a pat on the shoulder.

Aoi hugging them and they don't know how to respond until she tells them that their supposed to wrap their arms around her.

Quincy throwing his arm around their shoulders and telling them about the art of the deal.

Amir actively seeking them out because he enjoys their company.

Lettie telling them to sit down and shut the fuck up, they're injured and she'll be damned if they don't get proper treatment.

Eleanor confiding in them all her little sad secrets.

Velimir and Minerva adopting another orphaned child of war.

Flare excited that they can share their music with a like minded person

And Kaya showing off her nerdy collection.

Listen. I'm emotional thinking about all the ways the Drifter is finally finding love and belonging in a time that is not their own. Finally having a family.

My headcanon of the Hex/Triad's coffee preferences:

Arthur: Strong, black coffee. And none of the fancy single-origin, fresh ground or something like that. The cheapest coffee you have and double of that.

Aoi: About 3 lumps of sugar and whatever flavored creamer you have, though her favorite is salted caramel.

Amir: Espresso, sugar, cola, plenty of ice. Or skip the coffee and go straight for a good-old Blue Jolt Energy.

Quincy: Says he likes black coffee, but secretly enjoys his with enough cream and sugar it could be considered a dessert.

Lettie: Cream, cinnamon, and just a touch of chocolate.

Eleanor: Prefers tea, but if all you have is coffee, she takes her with 2 sugars over ice, hold the cream.

Flare: Doesn't have coffee often, but when they do, they'll have about 8 shots of espresso with a touch of heavy cream.

Velimir: Coffee with cream and coconut rum, or if he has to, then just a flat white will do.

Minerva: A Raf coffee. You don't know what that is? Ugh, it's just espresso, cream and syrup, why is that so confusing?

Kaya/Nova: Doesn't much like coffee, but mochas are pretty good. Just don't offer her anything resembling a PSL.

Marie: Doesn't like coffee and prefers tea. If there's only coffee, then she'll stick to water.

Lyon: Strictly water or maybe some wine, but other substances are off-limits.

Roathe: Single-origin Columbian strain, or Kona if you're out. Heavily spiced cream and unrefined sugar, stirred well and with a bit of unsalted butter.

Let's just all take the time to appreciate the fact that Proto Nova/Kaya Velasco isn't white. She may very well be Filipino!

Now, I'm SEAsian but not Filipino; while the name "Kaya Velasco" isn't a name I've personally encountered IRL, "Velasco" appears to be of Spanish origin. Considering that our real world's Philippines were once under Spanish and American rule, this makes perfect sense.

I really adore her face 🥺. She has black/brown eyes... like me... cute flat nose... like me... warm tan skin (which i really hope isn't the darkest skin tone DE is gonna give their lady protoframes), thick wavy hair, monolids...... She is such a familiar, friendly face to me. I'm kind of in awe that she exists in Warframe.

Plus: Her expressiveness, that little septum piercing, the color coordination of her whole outfit: pink clothes to pink hair? Her cocky, bouncy personality??

I like her! I appreciate her!!! I was always under the impression that nobody gave a shit about South or South East Asians when the world's eyes are typically on East Asians, so I'm actually very pleasantly surprised.

Now to wait for her full personality and story beats. Curious to see how deeply DE has researched SEA for Kaya... And I'm excited to see what I can learn from her 👀
