What if the real reason that Albrecht Entrati is running away from home is that after the incident with the lab animals, he can't handle his conservation-obsessed grandson's withering sarcasm?

Kermerros Entrati drawing progress~
I may forget to film my process 90% of the time, but for this painting at least, I took bad fotos, so I thought it might be interesting to share my mess of a 'process' :)
I should get in the habit of taking actual screenshots instead, I'll try to remember.
I talk a bit about my process underneath the pictures
So I tend to start in greyscale, especially if I don't have a clear idea of where to go yet. I mostly start by putting down veeery messy shapes to get a gist of the value. From there, I start adding details slowly. Sometimes, I do them more broadly, and other times, such as in this case, I tend to focus on a small area at a time and expand from there. When I started painting the vulpaphyla, I decided I needed some extra contrast from the lil critter, so I decided to color son's skin first. I color grayscale using various layer modes. Let me know if anyone is interested in a tutorial!
Then I went about the vulpaphyle and the background in a similar way. Honestly, my method is pretty haphazard, but I felt for this particular piece it was worse than usual cause I simply had no idea where I wanted to go with it exactly. But I love how it turned out! Would you guys like to see process screens more often?
Kermerros (Son) Entrati appreciation post because I love his voicelines so much
He loves the creatures and he's so genuine about it...
I love you Entrati family they could never make me hate you
Following my small rant on Bluesky hehehehehe
Son: Oh, way to go, you kill that life form! 😒
The life form:
Aaand another old piece of art.
A batch of commissions i did for someone on twitter of their character and Kermerros .
----------------------------------------- If you are interested in having your own character drawn in my style, to show off to your friends and fellow players, consider checking out my commission page and ordering one on there. Alternatively, you can DM me if you're looking for something specific. http://ko-fi.com/freyaloi/commissions
Can you tell us about that silly headcannon/idea you toy with?
Kermerros sleeps right across from the Secret Door that leads to Necraloid and the Sanctum.
The family was (and is) kept in the dark about the Sanctum, but I think nobody in that house is stupid enough to not realize that something was going on. But because how dysfunctional the Entratis are, I feel they had a "I know that you know that I know" but nobody ever spoke loudly what the thing they know is supposed to be. Not addressing their problems directly is how they kept "peace", especially after the Void dive, Albrecht's sudden fame and the family slowly starting to fall apart.
This is mixed in with two headcanons:
a) Kermerros focused his scientific interest on animals. Thus, he would often wake up very early to go birdwatching. Occasionally he would run into either Loid or Albrecht who were going to bed right as he was going out. He noticed that they were coming up from the basement - the basement that was strictly off-limits to everyone else.
b) Kermerros liked Loid the most out of his family - a memory from his childhood where he played with Loid persists, so it must be pretty important, considering what the infestation did to the Entratis. Loid asked him to make a promise to never mention to Euleria the occasional run-ins. Kermerros was never, ever told any details, he just decided to keep quiet, he disliked his mother enough to spite her by keeping a secret. In fact, keeping a secret was how he felt even a sliver of power and control in the family.
c) Kermerros has lines about liking solitude, so I imagine if he got tired of his family he would try to find some quiet corner to hide away in. He has loitered around that secret wall/door and has been caught by Albrecht. Scared him straight to never attempt it again (he lied badly how Kaelli was playing a prank on him and he and Albrecht both knew that it was a bad lie but also he and Albrecht both knew that Kermerros was too cowardly to actually try to break into the basement).
Anyways I wanted to check in-game who is the closest to the Secret Door... lo and behold it's Kermerros.
