Whumptober Day 22
Whumptober Day 17 "Let's see how you smile with this poison in your blood!"
The Sound of the Ocean is Dead
Please take care to read warnings before reading.
Years later, Charles would remember that day. Sometimes he would wonder if he could have changed anything; other times he would despair over what he had since become. But he would always hold the image in his mind: Raven, laughing, and his thoughts flying alongside her on strong wings, silver-gold through the winter air. Once upon a time.
I failed out of this story months ago, not because it's bad, it's the opposite of bad. It's deliciously good. The imagery is amazing, the characterization superb, the sexual tension near scorching and dark.
It's also the scariest fucking thing I've ever read.
You keep thinking the author isn't going to go somewhere awful and then you find she has and that it was ten times more terrifying than you expected and you can't escape and you now have enough nightmare fuel to last several lifetimes.
Note: No rating was given, but I listed it as NC-17 because of the graphic and dark images. (There may also be smut, idk, haven't read it) ~G
