It says a lot to me about the state of the Hellaverse standom that they lose their goddamn minds at redesigns. Literally anywhere else, redesigns come from love of the source material and wanting do to a fun new spin on it. For fun. Generally people are thrilled to see new interpretations that can still be associated with whatever fandom characters!

But nooo, Viv's designs are the only way to go, never to be altered beyond clothing, and anyone doing anything different is doing so out of spite.

Is it just me, or is it a weird choice for literally all the Halloween merch characters to be dressed as the antagonists/main monsters/slashers/etc from their chosen media, except fucking Stolas, who gets to be the hapless protagonist/victim from the story? Between that and his imagery looking like the beginning of a porno versus everyone else's that have a more horror-y vibe to them. Even the twins, the ones that are only there for sex appeal, have a more horror vibe to them to me. (I also don't appreciate that they shoehorned some Stolitz into one of the sticker sets, but that's beside my rant)

Re: Bloody Mary (the Ryland Grace/Simon Iron Lung ship)

I began as neutral towards it, even could appreciate it, but quickly grew disdainful of it because it began infecting each others respective tags. The amount of posts that seem to be solely PHM or Iron Lung just to then contain the Bloody Mary hashtag? And vice versa, people not tagging the ship when it’s an edit or art of the two in overtly romantic or suggestive settings when I don’t want to see it.

I also don’t really love that I’ve seen people pushing on artists for one or the other to draw/write/etc Bloody Mary content despite having no interest and saying as much. I’ve even seen people invade some of the aroace positivity posts specifically about Grace to make some kind of Bloody Mary comments, and that’s just rude.

In a vacuum, it’s fine. With how wildly popular it got and with how some of the fans are acting entitled as they are, it has become grating.

That's one of my points of complaint too. The first thing I did after finishing the movie was search for Grocky/Grockdrian fanart and the tag was so gunked up with Markiplier's stupid face I legitimately thought there was a character in PHM that I missed.
