Are you dead? No. Then there is still time.
My house is full of charity shop books. Second hand board games. All sorts of stickers everywhere. Strobe and fairy lights. Even a lava lamp. Porcelain figurines. Wooden tchotchkes. Shiny rocks. Polished seashells. Funkos. Discount lego flowers and all sorts of other imitation building blocks. Post cards. Silly wall art. Plants of all shapes and sizes. There's colour, and joy, and soul, in every single room. Scented candles that make it smell like cake. Folk patterned cushions and blankets. Trinket boxes that hold snacks. Cute plushies to snuggle with wherever you sit. And you know what? Everywhere I look, my home makes me smile. It makes me so so so happy. So I will never reject the brightness, the childishness, the freedom of it all. I will never be ashamed for my care bear stickers, or my lego spaceship, or my legolas funko, or my bold n' brash painting, or my ladybug pillow, or my paleta payaso, or my sesame street pijamas, or my snorlax tshirt, or my fluffy cow slippers. Even when I turn 31 this summer. Because cringe isn't real. Neither is shame. I decide, whether I want to hold onto them or whether I wish to let go. Because at the end of the day, the only thing I actually want to keep, is love, for all the things I enjoy, all the things that make me happy, all the things that bring colour to my home, and actually make it a place worth not simply existing, but truly living in.
*Repeating through gritted teeth, with clenched fists, and burning eyes wide shut* Love is always with me as I am full of it. Nobody can take it from me, it was always mine.
A sprinkle of sunshine for all of you 🌞✨
Watched the new "Avatar: The Last Airbender" movie last night. The whole gang's back together. All grown up this time. A tale of forgiveness and strength of character. Of the inner fortitude it takes to be tested time and time again, to endure so much suffering, so much grief, and still choose goodness. Still choose peace. It was beautiful. The story. The animation. The soundtrack. Heartwarming and soul touching just as much as the series was. Awfully funny too. Reminded me of all the things I loved about Avatar as a child. And which I continue to love as an adult. None of which were ever captured by the movie nor the netflix live action show. So glad Mike and Bryan went a separate way and that Avatar Studios exist. Can't wait for the new show coming up next year. Fingers crossed for the two other movies they've planned. And in case you're wondering... Yes. He's still fighting for his cabbages.
Sometimes I get sad. Anxious. Angry. Tired too. When my body hurts. Sometimes I have a really bad day at work. The kind that brings me all the way down. And I worry. About my job. The economy. Relationships. But the truth is, everyone I love is alive and well. As am I. There is a roof above my head. My fridge is full. I am never hungry or thirsty. Not for more than a few hours at a time anyway. The rooms are warm. Our water is clean. The earth in our garden is full and bears fruit. I hear songbirds every day. There are no bullets in the air. There are no bombs in the sky. So I'm grateful. That whatever the day may have been, it always ends, as a good day.
