Standing waves on a shallow stream bed, with an actual wavelength between them!!!. Some of them are peaks of pure liquid, while yet others of those peaks are crested with a slight tuft of foam. Once again we witness an interaction between the stream bed and the fluid flowing over it, each sculpting the other into a wavy pattern.

Note the ribbed configuration on the underbelly of the rearing wave - first photo - in the final moments before its crashing collapse, the underlying mechanism of which is unclear. We do tend to see a person’s ribs when that person stretches and takes a deep breath before exhaling, but that hardly is the explanation that can be forwarded here!!!!.
