Updates!

It’s time to reopen Way Back Home! 

For those of you who follow us or are already a part of our little community you’ll know that life kind of caught up to nearly everyone on the site. Just because life caught up with us all doesn’t mean we’re giving up though! 

I have a deep love not only for the site, but the members, characters and plots that are on Way Back Home so I’m in no way ready to let it go - and I’m happy to say that a lot of our members feel the same way! 

We’ve had a few changes over the last few months that include: a new skin, new templates, a new custom profile and a new member directory among other things! We’ve also had a site wide check in that let us know who wanted to stick around and who was too busy to be able to continue on the site. Which means that a lot of faces, canons and requests that were previously filled have been reopened! 

As a side note, if you were one of the members that couldn’t make the check in but plan on returning at some point in the future, never fear! You are more than welcome to return to the site just keep in mind that we aren’t holding canons/faces/requests for you! However, if you’d like to reclaim your character we are allowing a hiatus status until the end of the year for people who do want to stay/return but just don’t have the time right now. Because we know that sometimes life can get a little too busy and role playing has to take the backseat and we respect that! 

I really hope to see you guys all around - and see some new faces! If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask! You are more than welcome to ask here though a faster way to get a hold of us will be on the site directly! 

Also don’t forget - members you are allowed to submit your requests here on the blog! We’ll post them and even queue them to repost periodically!

Check In by Sept 26th or you'll be deleted!

Way Back Home is doing a check in [kind of like an activity check, but active threads aren’t required!] for all the members that would like to stay on the site! 

Make sure that if you plan on sticking around to come in and post to let us know you’re staying! We are also allowing people to go on Hiatus’ until the first of the year if you’d like to stick around but just can’t right now!

Bike Week Event!

On the first week of June (1-6th), the Hellhounds have their annual Bike Week Rally. This is a full week of bike and car shows in Bay Grove that benefit veterans and charities around the town. There are other events during the week as well, but most people are there to look at some killer chrome, burly bikers, and beautiful gals. The events of the days are set up as follows.

monday

The first day of bike week is pretty slow. Everyone is still setting up their booths and vendors are still setting up on the square. However, there are always a lot of people out and about even though there isn't really anything to do. Then again, it's usually gorgeous weather so why wouldn't you be out walking around? That night is usually when things start getting started and there is usually a party on the square that lasts up until the early morning hours when the cops start running people off.

tuesday

The second day is much more eventful. Tuesday at noon the bike show starts, and there are lines of gorgeous bikes all the way through town for you to admire. The local car and bike dealership also has a line of bikes out in front of their shop where you can come and shop for a new one if your heart so desires. It is all wrapped up with another party that lasts until the cops start running people off.

wednesday

The third day of bike week is the day that is titled 'The Longest Ride'. Anyone who wants to take the ride (usually on bikes though some cruise in their cars as well) meets on the square, or as close as they can get as there is usually a long line of cars. At 10am they start their ride and drive into Leesburg (1.5 hours) and have an early lunch (most scatter between diners in the area as there are too many to actually have in one place. At 1pm they gather and start the next leg of their trip into Daytona Beach (1.5 hours) where they are free to do as they please until 8pm when they complete their trip by heading back to Bay Grove (2.5 hours). By the time they get back to the area most are too tired to do anything but head home and sleep, though a few stragglers will likely end up at the MC owned bar.

thursday

The fourth day is dedicated to cars, full out. The car show starts at noon, just the same as the bike show. The streets are lined with cars from all decades of all shapes and sizes for people to look at. The local car and bike dealership also has a line of cars out in front of their shop where you can come and shop for a new one if your heart so desires. It is all wrapped up with another party that lasts until the cops start running people off.

friday

The fifth day is dedicated to the MC as a whole, and is a show to let the town know that they care about them. Local businesses sponsor Fridays auction, where old restored cars, bikes, and gift cards to businesses in town are auctioned off. This portion usually draws attention from outside the area as well, so expect a lot of crowds! The auction starts at noon and lasts until 5pm. A BBQ and mini concert are held on the square and last until around 11pm.

saturday

The last day is usually a somber occasion thanks to everyone either being tired from partying all week or having to deal with the traffic headaches that it has caused. At noon there is a 'parade' that goes from the town square to St. Petersburg where the Hellhounds second charter is located, and then back to Bay Grove again. The trip is a little over an hour, and after the parade everyone hangs out on the square or at the MC owned bar until they finally decide to go home and declare Bike Week done.

ACTIVITY RULE UPDATE! - ACTIVE JUNE 1ST!

Alright, so as promised we're updating the activity rules and I promised to have the new rules up before the end of the Activity check so here they are. Starting Monday June 1st the new rules are as follows:

If your character has already gone through the application process:

Every Friday I'm going to do a 'prune' in the ACP and it's going to tell me who hasn't posted at all within the past 10 days. If you haven't posted in 10 days and don't have something posted in the absence area [that you're going to be slow, absent or on hiatus] the inactive accounts will be moved to the inactive member group. You will receive a PM notifying you that you've been moved to the group.

When you are moved to this member group you will also lose all of your claims! Which means that if someone else wants to take your canon, face, job, ect they can! [To prevent this if you are going to be away for more than 10 days you NEED to post an away message!]

Once you've been moved to the inactive member group you will have until the following Friday [7 days] before you are deleted. This gives you a total of 17 days to become inactive before you are deleted!

To be moved back to your correct member group you will need to repost all of your claims within that 7 day period.

If you have not finished the application process:

You have seven days to complete an application, on the seventh day you'll be sorted into the inactive member group but in this case you will only have 24 hours to finish your application process or speak directly to a staff member about what's preventing you from finishing your application process.

If you don't contact a staff member or finish the application process your account will be deleted.

In both instances you are welcome to reapply to the site after you've been deleted, with the same character or a new one. However if someone else has taken or reserved one of your claims you'll have to find another or wait until their reservation runs out.

WBH is having an activity check in, which ends on 5/31! Anyone who has not checked in will have their characters deleted and may run the risk of losing their claims!
