Okay cleaned up tree for Tallstar/Onestar/Crowfeather

This is for my own genetically realistic project and doesn't 100% match up to canon, like Palebird and Wrenflight being torties for example. It's just something I'm doing for fun on the side while I'm still learning about cat genetics. I want to draw little sprites for all of them but that's going to be for another day as it's already midnight here.

Inheritance charts for individual genes below:

NOTE: Sorrelshine is chimera in this chart. She displays both (B/b,d/d) and (b/b1,D/d) genotypes. The genotype she is able to pass on to her offspring is (b/b1, D/d).

Agouti (Tabby)

So I've recently been studying genetics and am (obviously) hyperfixating on specifically cat coat genetics

Which has given me the idea to do a genetically accurate Warriors series (so original, I know)

But if anyone would be interested in my take on that (I can also walk through the terms as I'm going!) Then reblog please 🙏

I'm gonna say 200 notes and I'll post Firestar's ENTIRE lineage to kick things off

I had a request for the Sorreltail, Brackenfur family! I’m only doing their first litter

Sorreltail - tortoiseshell with 50%< white spotting, carries dilute

Brackenfur - red mackerel tabby with <50% white spotting, got the white from mama Frostfur, also carries dilute

Daughters:

Cinderheart - solid dilute tortoiseshell, she has very faint cream markings making her look mostly blue

Poppyfrost - dilute tortoiseshell with <50% white spotting

Honeyfern - red tabby with <50% white spotting

Son

Molepaw - black with low white spotting :( poor guy

Got bored, so here’s a short explanation of genetics (which can be applied to Warriors)

I may have missed some stuff. I don’t know if saying that they give half their chromosomes is the correct terminology, but yeah anyway this is the basics.

Traits can refer to eye colour, pelt colour, short fur vs long fur, etc.

If one parent has a recessive trait, the dominant trait is shown. 

If both parents have the same recessive trait, the recessive trait is shown (this connects to punnet squares, too).

The Tigerstar clones/family re-imagined so they are more genetically accurate and look nothing like Tigerstar because seriously it’s pretty annoying we have the same brown tabby clone.

Aaaah my first drawing posted here! I’ve always wanted somewhere where I could dump my doodles, and sketching different cat breeds is just too fun. Soooo, here we have our british shorties Smallear and Goldenflower, and the big Maine Coons Lionheart and Speckletail!

According to the wiki she’s a dark ginger she-cat with a white muzzle and blue eyes which as we know isn’t genetically possible. she’s a dark red tabby with white spotting and deep amber eyes! More headcanon write ups to come!
