Lou is such a powerhouse performer. His confrontation with Ermine is so incredible, and he seems legitimately pissed off. His tone of voice, the way his body closes up, his facial expression... Completely selling this moment. This entire meeting he delivers such a masterful performance of a man who is trying his best in a shitty situation and at his wits end with the bureaucracy of the Camarilla.
Honestly though, thinking about it, some of the stuff that was blamed on the Coterie from the first episode isn't actually their fault?
Obviously, some of it was. They're responsible for the missile being launched and the Second Inquisition being there and also everything that happened on the street outside. The Coterie aren't exactly innocent; they fucked up big time.
But like, Clive Tarker freaking out and beheading the CEO guy is Tarker's fault. He's the one who broke the masquerade by yelling that vampires were real. Like what, he's some ancient vampire high up in the Camarilla and he has the composure of a fainting goat? He sees a sunrise on a VR helmet and goes off like fucking Buckaroo?
The Coterie are being held responsible for what Tarker did and one of the people holding them responsible is literally Tarker, and like, as is the case with D20, all of that ties into the theming and what it is that vampires and the Camarilla represent.
But man, you do kinda want to be like that was your guy who beheaded CCOD!Peter Thiel, you deal with the consequences.

For Curl-Salemme's promotion of FIERCE Athlete, the PWHL permitted video to be taken used for FIERCE Athlete and Curl's collaboration on ice, on the bench, and during games. The PWHL has refused all comment on why they permitted video to be taken on the ice and on a PWHL bench for the explicit purposes of an anti-LGBTQ+ campaign involving Curl-Salemme. FIERCE Athletes primary goal however, is to bar transgender athletes from sport, which Curl-Salemme has continued to support in online comments and her endorsement of the organization.
Explains a bit then about how the PWHL has been playing dumb about the outrage. Fans, however mad you were, we're not pissed enough at the PWHL for this.
The transphobia is important, but it's not the only issue and some people keep trying to make it seem like the only issue. There is also the racism and dirty hits. Don't let anyone tell you that people like Curl are pretty run of the mill for hockey, her suspensions alone would make her massively controversial over on the NHL side.
On other sites I've seen people try to normalize Curl by being all 'oh honey, lots of players are probably transphobic, this is just how hockey is' As bad as all the issues in hockey culture are, Curl is not 'basically like any NHL player'
Both things can be true one once: Hockey has a lot of problems, and Curl is toxic and controversial even by those standards

I think part of getting better is complete ego death. Like you’re not above setting a timer for 5 minutes and focusing on a task. You’re not above doing a very simple 3 minute workout to start. You’re not above reading for 10 minutes a day when you first get out of your reading slump, even if you used to read for hours. You’re not above starting slow and then building up to where you want to be/where you once were. What you are above is total inertia. Doing something really is better than doing nothing. Radically accept where you are, radically accept your limits, and go from there. Don’t let your ego get in the way.

I enjoy a joke about fucked up German fairy tales as much as the next nerd, but it's genuinely striking how often the source for the really fucked up stuff turns out to be "yeah, this is only in the Brothers Grimm version and doesn't appear in any extant oral tradition, and we're like 80% sure they added it themselves". To a large extent it's not German fairy tales that are fucked up, it's two specific German dudes.
