So, as anyone who talked to me this weekend already knows: I did quite a thing with travel planning. xD (A friend was nice enough to travel along, he wasn’t at the Con though. (he went to Chester and stuff like that instead~) Thanks again for making traveling a lot more fun! <3)
We left Dresden at 23.45 friday night, stayed at the airport for a few hours and arrived in Manchester at about 7.30. I got about 1 hour sleep out of it - mostly because I was too excited to sleep. :’D Anyways, we arrived at the hotel around 9.30, I think, and ran into @elveatas and @little-dhampir-1508. I was so confused about them recognizing me - I wasn’t even in Cosplay yet! xD But I was really happy to meet someone I know, and to know they stayed in the same hotel! :)
After I changed into my Merlin Cosplay I went to WCC and - since this was my lucky day, apparently xD - I found the girls again, as well as @springinstep and @tricksyspirit, and just a bit later there were @narlth and @brolins-merthur and oh my, so many great people! I’m sorry, I don’t know all of your tumblr names! ;///; But it was nice to meet you all, and try to talk to everyone! ♥♥♥♥♥
I then spend most of the morning at the signing area - getting signatures form Rupert, Tom and Alex. And OMG. I was so nervous! And Rupert was so nice, talking to everyone for ages (I was super happy to talk to him too, but omg I about died from nervousness xD) and Tom greeted me with “Colin, you look different” (I just replied “yeah, I’m smaller” or something. I guess it was a considerably good reply? idk XD) and ahhhhh >///< I’m just so happy I got to meet them all! <3
Later that day I was at the Merlin group photo-op. And I’m so glad I decided to buy one after all! >//< I make the stupidest face on the photo, but who cares! :D:D:D
In the afternoon I also ran into @lao-paperman and @marmaladica! It was really great to get to meet you two irl! You’re both so lovely! ♥
And then there was the Q&A. It was so awesome! I didn’t film it, but I saw a lot of other people filming - so hopefully anyone who wasn’t there can watch it soon. Both Saturday’s and Sunday’s Q&A were amazing! And so funny! xD Most of the questions were really good too! :D So thank you to everyone who was brave enough to ask a question (I’d never be that brave, haha xD)
After the Q&A we took a few pictures of out Merlin cosplays (sadly I don’t have one with narlth on it on my phone. I hope you guys will upload some of your pictures too? :D I’d love to see them!)
In the evening we ate dinner together, in a large group of Merlin fans. xD I was getting really tired around that time and left a bit earlier with someone else (omg I just can’t remember your tumblr name, i’m so sorry!! ;////; Can someone tell me her name so I can link it please...?) But anyways: I had a great time at dinner too! <3
All in all it was a great day, and I managed way better on so little sleep than I thought I would! :D
Sunday was just as great! I cosplayed Niska (from humans). I had my suitcase with me the whole time (I had to leave early enough, didn’t want to make a detour to the hotel :’D) but it wasn’t too much of a bother (and everyone was so nice, asking if I needed help, or if I was really fine with dragging the suitcase around ;///; You lovely people! ♥) I used the day to check out the games room and the stands and, of course, to see the Merlin Q&A. We actually got in line like an hour before it started, because it had been so crowded on Saturday, and me being myself I got my laptop out and spend like half of the time writing my acbb story. XD
After the Q&A I sat outside with Lao and Mar and we just chatted until I had to leave. Really, really lovely of you to wait until I left the con! ♥
All in all it was a relaxing day, lot’s of lovely people, and it was just as sunny and warm as Saturday! (Seriously, It was so warm! In April!)
The way home was mostly uneventful. The flight was a bit late, but we caught or bus in Berlin without a problem. :) Oh but I have to say, I was super excited about the Raspbarry Coke they sold at Manchester Airport. I never even heard of it before, and it tasted so good!! <3
In the end I was back at home at 1 in the morning, just as planned. :)
Tl;dr: WCC was great, everyone was so lovely! Ahhhhh! ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
