A world filled with birth control would be amazing, but right now millions of women (220 million to be exact) who want birth control aren’t getting it: bit.ly/Zg3nXH
Today is World Contraception Day! It's time to empower youth to make informed choices about their sexual health. Let's celebrate and educate.
What's your preferred method of birth control? We asked Planned Parenthood Staff which is their favorite and now we're asking all of you! Use the hashtag #mybodymybc.
Having the power to control when you have children is a big effing deal.
So let's celebrate 'cause today is World Contraception Day.
THE SEX-ED LESSON THAT MUST ALWAYS BE COVERED: (no pun intended) If you want to use barriers (condoms, etc) and your partner keeps trying to pressure you not to, whether verbally or as part of their "moves", you have every right to leave. Even if it's 4am, even if you've known the person for years, and even if they've done other nice things for you. Even if that person will never understand why it's wrong. Even if you haven't had a date in foreverrrrrrr. And you don't even have to be as non-violent and polite as I am about it. Just because I haven't kicked someone between the legs and yelled, "Get off me you $&@#% rapist!" doesn't mean you can't. Have at it. It's not on you to constantly defend your boundaries: that's a war, not sex. It's on the other person to not just respect boundaries, but also check-in and ask. If you don't feel free to say No, if you feel like letting your guard down means they'll try something you don't want, then you're not really saying "Yes!"
The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency recently announced plans to launch a data mining project, called Big Mechanism, that aims to advance cancer research. DARPA will sift through cancer research worldwide and then store cancer-related information to make it more easily accessible to researchers. USA Today.
To go with today's theme of Cancer Awareness, this was just released from the Pentagon.
