If you think you know all about Captain Marvel Jr'.s influence on Elvis Presley ... think again! Because the World's Mightiest Boy didn't just influence the King of Rock and Roll's hairstyle ...
OKAY WAIT A MINUTE. DON’T CLICK IT YET. READ THIS FIRST.
You know, I read this whole thing, and I wouldn’t post if I didn’t think it was worth a look. BUT...being a Memphian, an Elvis fan, a comics/supers fan, a Marvel Family fan -- that’s the DC Marvel Family, for you non-fanboys/girls,the Original Captain Marvel aka Shazam, CM, Jr, the crippled newsboy, Mary Marvel, Grandpa, etc -- as well as a rational and logical person, at my best anyway, I have to take exception with the argument. I truly appreciate the sentiment, and I agree that Elvis like most boys was clearly influenced by comics and superheroes. But the evidence presented is tenuous, speculative, and not very convincing. It’s a cool idea, but even the words of Elvis which he quotes do not say anything about the Marvels but in fact specifically the King said “Superboy.” So it’s worth a look, but don’t be surprised if it seems like it -- oh i really shouldn’t -- BUT I WILL -- it seems like the argument doesn’t really have a leg to stand on.
Thank you, I’ll be here all year.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ELVIS!

I’m glad I got to waste your precious time what a bloody honor.
Lakers Fans Weak Ass Argument
Pre-game Lakers Fan: This should be easy.
Post-game Lakers Fan: How many rings do you have?!
"But Romans Were Slaves!"
I'm sorry;
Is your systematic oppression directly related to the enslavement of the Romans?
What's that? You aren't systematically oppressed?
Fire Emblem Discussion: Soren has Dependent Personality Disorder (Maybe)
Follow-up to this post, which makes some very good points:
http://qgfe.tumblr.com/post/8778306273/the-ike-soren-relationship
I was curious about the possiblity of Soren having underlying psychological issues, so I did some research.
Definition: Dependent personality disorder (DPD) is a long-term (chronic) condition in which people depend too much on others to meet their emotional and physical needs. DPD usually begins in childhood. The causes of this disorder are unknown. It is one of the most common personality disorders, and is equally common in men and women.
Symptoms:
-People with this disorder do not trust their own ability to make decisions. They may be very upset by separation and loss. They may go to great lengths, even suffering abuse, to stay in a relationship.
I doubt that Soren has trouble making decisions, but I am sure that he would be upset if he were ever to lose Ike or (arguably) the rest of the Greil's Mercenaries. And it's made clear that he's very dedicated to Ike, so point 3 can be valid as well.
-Avoiding being alone -Avoiding personal responsibility -Becoming easily hurt by criticism or disapproval -Becoming overly focused on fears of being abandoned -Becoming very passive in relationships -Having difficulty making decisions without support from others -Having problems expressing disagreements with others -Feeling very upset or helpless when relationships end
There are some things here that don't fit. For example, Soren is very vocal about his disagreements. The scenes in the beginning of PoR where Soren and Shinon are the only ones who do not want to help Princess Elincia come to mind. And some symptoms only apply to interactions with Ike (some support conversations show passive behaviors). So there are certainly some pieces that don't fit. So this is to say that this is an incomplete arguement. Can you be dependent on one person and have this disorder? Are there more mild forms of it?
the-tenth-doctor replied to your photo: GUISE GUISE, I KNOW WHERE THIS IS FROM. He’s going...
