I am upright for the moment! Day 2 after dose #2 I'm still a bit wonky, feel pretty weak, and I've still got a headache, but I actually got out of bed and made it to the living room. Literally baby steps ... beats hell out of actually getting COVID-19. With my history of respiratory issues (chronic bronchitis, several bouts of pneumonia over the years, and more than one occasion of Last Rites as a kid), I am not messing around. Today, I taught my first in-person class in over 2.5 months. I cried. I don’t have words to express how grateful I am for community. To be around each other, moving, breathing, laughing again. It felt surreal, almost a dream. To @buckasana, @jjjmmmeee, and @momentomyoga — thank you. Thank you for being an example of unwavering love and support to bring us together. I hovered inches above this male humpback as he hung head down in the water column and belted out this haunting song for all the ocean to hear. The vibrations produced from this approximately 70,000 pound animal reverberated through my entire body and it was an experience that I have dreamt of my whole life and yet, I never knew it was going to be this intense, special and awe-inspiring. The song was so powerful that I wasn’t even sure if I had remembered to press record once I got back to the surface. Luckily, we did. Only male humpback whales sing and throughout the season various populations all sing the same song. They can be heard singing for hours, repeating the song several times. This is another gift from nature that I am excited to share with you courtesy of @sealegacy. We had such a powerful launch of three great ocean conservation organizations coming together in New York City last night. Thanks to all of those who attended and who continue to support the work we do.
