Dark Purple or Lavender?
I don’t know how many people are aware but Chimera Academy has a website, and has had a website for a while. However, it’s only been recently that more work has been done to get the website to a better usable state. It is the place we would like to direct people to when out in the wild one day.
So, since Were-Ah had the day off and I’ve been getting better at doing things in a more timely manner so I can hang out with her on Discord, we both sat down to go over the website.
At least… that was the plan, until we realized an issue…
The website’s background colour (which had been updated earlier today) was not the same for the both of us.
Were-Ah was getting this deep lovely purple, which had been the original background colour.
Meanwhile, I was getting this lovely lavender colour, which was what Were-Ah changed it to.
Okay… weird, but most likely it was a cache issue. For those not familiar, there’s some bits and pieces of data that get stored by your browser called a cache that allows a page you’ve been on previously to load quicker because the browser kept that previous bit of data. Such as the colour of a background. No amount of clearing her cache fixing the issue.
Maybe it was a browser issue… browsers work differently all the time. Anyhow who has bounced around between Chrome, Firefox and Edge know this. Three additional browsers later nothing has changed.
Perhaps it’s a computer problem, so she tries her laptop. Still dark purple.
At this point, I also tried opening the website on my phone, for reasons I’m not completely sure. Maybe to see if I would get the same dark purple colour, even though the lavender colour was the one that Were-Ah wanted, and it was still lavender, on my phone.
Then, in a moment of madness, Were-Ah decided to check the website on her phone. Let me be clear, she had never tried to open the website on her phone before. This means there is no old data from the website, on that phone, which means the website should be lavender on the phone.
It was dark purple.
At this point, we both thought, maybe… maybe it has to do with Were-Ah’s internet. I know that doesn’t sound like it makes any sense, but weirder things have happened. So she goes and texts her friend, while I go and message my sister. We both ask them to check the website, and send us a screenshot.
My sister kindly agreed to this and sent me a screenshot of a lavender website. Well, there’s our answer! It was Were-Ah’s internet!
And then… the friend sent back a screenshot… of dark purple. We were both horribly confused. Why did my sister, who didn’t even live in the same city as me, get the right colour, while the friend who was also in a completely different area from Were-Ah got the wrong colour? This made no sense…
Could the colour being pulled be limited by location? But how would that work? Surely not… we thought as Were-Ah asked her mom, who had never looked up the website herself, to look up the website and send a screenshot. Meanwhile, my intrigued sister got her boyfriend in on it and also checked the website.
Dark purple on Were-Ah’s end.
And lavender on mine.
Welp… that is starting to get weird, and while the answer is probably (hopefully) just that the server closer to Were-Ah is taking its sweet time to update, we have a question for everyone. Please check out the website, and send us a screenshot to let us know.
Dark purple?
Or lavender?

The issue should be fixed now. We hope you enjoy getting to know them better. ;-)
Are your dashboards messed up too?
HELP! Seriously asking as my dashboard is completely out of sequence. It’s almost unusable!
My dashboard had a post from a friend of mine and underneath that was my reblog of that post. That’s impossible. It’s backwards.
As I scrolled, there were posts from three days ago, followed by some new posts, then it had my friend's reblog of one of my post from yesterday and it did NOT have my original post after it. (Just yesterday, she had reblogged it almost immediately after I posted my original post.)
The order makes no sense when using it on my iPhone 8 and my laptop! I found it to be both unappealing and difficult to use.
Is tumblr changing the way they display posts or is this just a glitch? I much prefer everything to be sequential.
To The People Getting Their Posts Flagged...
...Whether the flagging was justified or not... if you only find out that your post got flagged via followers alerting you to it, and you received no notification from tumblr itself... then PLEASE let tumblr know about this. Along with appealing the flagging if it was unjustified, it’d be a good idea to “report an issue” to them, and let them know that you didn’t receive any sort of notification about your flagged post.
Because apparently you’re supposed to. So, that’s another thing of tumblr’s that’s broken. I already let the @staff know, but they don’t seem to believe me. They keep insisting that we’re supposed to receive a notification, and that everyone already does. There’s only so much I can do to convince them, as a witness, that I’ve read COUNTLESS bloggers only finding out via followers pointing it out to them.
So, it’d help so many people if folks who are affected by this problem, report said problem to the staff, to make sure they’re aware of it.
The only hope for this site is for their awful filtering system to properly learn the difference between “sand dunes” and “send nudes”, is if wrongful flagging is marked as such in the system. But it might get away with countless false-positives if us bloggers aren’t even aware that some of our posts were wrongfully flagged. Thus will never become even close to accurate, thus these stressful false hits will keep continuing.
So, please help the whole community by reporting the lack of notification to tumblr. And please pass this message around, or reword it better than me, or something, so more people can give them a picture of just how catastrophic this problem is. Because they won’t just take my word for it. Thank you.
Hello everyone, Kristin (@thenoldorexile) here!
My website, noldorin.net which was essentially my professional artistic hub, is down for nobody-knows-what-reason; the entire contents of my server vanished without a trace and while I have everything backed up locally it will be a long time before I am able to get my site back up. Not so great. Art is literally the only trickle of cash flow I currently have, and not having my portfolio or commission info page immediately at all times is basically killing me.
So here’s my temporary solution, which seemed like a great idea because I love Tumblr. However, this is literally like, the worst time for this (did I mention I broke my ankle last week? And I’m incredibly sick this week?) and as a result I am pretty broke, so if you want art, now is a freakin phenomenal time to commission me. It’s cheap art and I have a really fast turnaround time! Until I can populate my art onto Tumblr, you can view samples of my work at my art blog here on Tumblr, @bangmar, as always!
You could also visit my Patreon and see some cute little Nazgûl drawings, or throw money at the gates of Minas Morgul (in other words, at me, via PayPal) for no reason other than you want to make a cranky Nazgûl less cranky.
Meanwhile, enjoy these self-portraits while I freak out about how I managed to anger the internet gods.

Posts Randomly Flagged as NSFW
Y’know, @staff , I’d be [relatively] fine with my posts being randomly labeled as NSFW like Tumblr has been doing recently, if I would at least get an alert or something so I can correct them. Instead, they’re just secretly marked as NSFW and I don’t find out until months later when I see the label while viewing a post in the sidebar. It seems like every other image post I make is being flagged as NSFW by Tumblr’s automatic(?) system at this point, and every single time I request review, it’s corrected (which is both appreciated and frustrating).
Some kind of notification, anything at all, to let people know when their posts have been flagged would make a huge difference here.
Um, so is anyone's text color fader's website also not working or................
