(LONG POST!-WEDNESDAY THEORIES! TYLER’S FEELINGS FOR WEDNESDAY / updates after season 2 feel free to go all the way down!!)okay I REWATCHED Wednesday and YES TYLER WAS GROOMED AND ABUSED AND LITERALLY TURNED INTO A MONSTER BY this psycho woman and he needs help(and he actually sends many signals to his dad during the season, but his father never hears them). And YUP, he thought Wednesday was sending him signals, but in a way W subconsciously kind of was. Oh, and I’m happy to report that i still ship Wednesday both with Enid and Tyler(still), AND YES THERE WERE SO MANY SIGNALS ABT TYLER BEING THE HYDE(like the anger and hurt we see on his face while he talks to his father, or when he waits for Wednesday and stares at the picture where His Mom is too, not only Morticia, or when we see him scream in the bath-just to name a few/same for Ms.Thornhill/LaurelGates MANY signals if you know what to look for).

But THIS POST is going to be about Tyler and his feelings for Wednesday, because I thought about it a lot, and paid so much attention while rewatching.

Let’s begin from the very end. Season 1 ends with two cars passing each other, Wednesday in one, and Tyler in the second, and it’s such a clear foreshadowing by the writers of the series that these two will be very closely involved one way or another in the future seasons for sure. Then the beginning of the final episode. When Tyler is still lying about being Hyde and letting Xavier be blamed for it all. He says, “I’m not a monster and even if you really thought I was-Why would you risk bringing me out to the woods to confront me alone?” (he’s so WEDNESDAY IF YOU THINK YOU KNOW WHAT I AM WHY THE HELL ARE YOU HERE ALONE WITH ME RIGHT NOW? like PLS. there’s a part of him that CARES A LOT.) “Fine my mom was a monster but..” and “You stole her medical records?” and “Wednesday, please” and he’s begging Bianca to not leave him alone with W. She’s literally torturing him to get the truth out and he just won’t say it. And I don’t think it’s because he can’t do so. If his “master” would forbid it, he wouldn’t tell Wednesday later at the sheriff’s station. He’s hurt and emotional and just, in general, being his usual teenager Tyler, who’s being tortured but won’t stop it (he has a way to stop it) because he wants to spend more time with Wednesday?? as messed up as it is, there’s no other explanation. He wants to be the normie Tyler for a little bit longer, and not a full Hyde 100% yet. There’s this scared kid in him and yeah, he’s still there. We see his full confession in this vid, in this post. But before that there’s “We-Wednesday, wait-” and he runs after the girl who has just tortured him! And he tells his father that he needs to talk to her because she was his friend. And I don’t think he’s lying there. He could have confessed all and be like Ms.T/LaurelG, be like “Okay fine ENOUGH OF THE HIDING what the hell I’m this and I did that because..” and Tyler didn’t confess. He lied. Holding on so much to this old version of Tyler, and even now confessing, there are tears and the look on his face, as if he’s heartbroken because he knows this is it. The end. The moment when he loses Wednesday as a friend, the moment he loses himself as just a normie Tyler completely when all he’s about is to listen to “his master” because he HAS TO listen. But about that one, in the final episode as well. She told him to wait by the boat(?-what was that about was she planning to escape with him after bringing Crackstone back to life or?) BUT TYLER WASN’T BY THE BOAT. He was in the woods. Alone. Not in the Hyde form. And he said to Wednesday, “Laurel said you’re dead” and he obviously didn’t believe it since he was in the woods literally WAITING FOR WEDNESDAY, and he goes to her telling her she’s like a cockroach, and there’s this moment when he’s just kinda staring intensely BEFORE turning into Hyde and actually (for the first time FOR REAL I believe) trying to HURT Wednesday, and then Enid comes and he fights with her BUT that was the moment when he had no other choice but to fight Wednesday and he still slowed it down. If this doesn’t mean he actually likes her alive I don’t know what that means truly.

Now, Let’s go back to the very beginning ep1, when they meet. He doesn’t know WHO SHE IS yet, we see his sarcasm in the way he talks with her, and his interest too, while she fixes the machine. And then he decides to help her leave town FOR FREE. So like, ep1 we have like.. his 3rd victim I believe. We see his face break for a moment when he tells her that he WISHES HE COULD LEAVE TOO, and that AT LEAST ONE OF THEM WILL GET OUT OF THIS TOWN. and then he steals her father’s files from his father. I doubt LG would tell him to do this since she only wanted to mess up Wednesday and Sheriff’s investigation later when they had some actual proof. And then at the festival(?) W runs after Rowan, and Tyler as Hyde comes and attacks Rowan BUT NOT WEDNESDAY. and it’s the first sign he likes her (funny how Wednesday herself called it out-Monster liking her and not attacking her-only to Xavier bc she thought he’s the monster). Because at this point-so early on-I doubt Ms.T would tell him who Wednesday is and what she needs from her in the finale to resurrect Crackstone AND the whole “made you feel special” miss T mentioned to Wednesday was for sure abt her own doing and this kind and helping teacher and not Tyler’s. Yes, he was probably supposed to watch what W does and when, but I doubt he was supposed to get as romantically involved as he had. (but more about it later)

Ep.3. Outreach day. Tyler proposed he would go with Wednesday and she said no. And then THE HYDE SHOWS UP to the very place where W went. And i’m sorry-but Ms.T/LG would NEVER send a monster to hurt Wednesday if she needed her at the end to succeed with her agenda. This means Tyler as the teenage boy-whom he still was and is-was just angry Wednesday wouldn’t take him along, so he went along as the monster??

And one more thing-I’m not sure if it was episode 3, 4 or even 2, but he was so smiling and happy when he told W “You’re really becoming obsessed with this monster in the woods kind of thing” and he WAS SO HAPPY because-again-as messed up as it was-he was the monster and she was obsessed so as a teenage boy who’s clearly interested in this girl he’s happy because she’s IN A WAY interested in him. It’s such a small detail but I find it hilarious and it actually proves so deeply how Tyler, even as The Hyde listening to the “master” was just a normal teenage boy as well.

ep.4. The dance. Yes, Thing kinda invited Tyler who was angry TRULY that W was going with Xavier. Yes Wednesday had more important stuff on her mind-searching THE CAVE. Yes, Eugene came and said it. And yes, Tyler probably had let Ms.T/LG know. BUT HE WAS AT THE DANCE with Wednesday, dancing with her, looking at her the way he was, and he told her THE TRUTH about what he did to Xavier and “why”. And what i TRULY LOVE about this small talk was that he admitted he was checking her, and he learned what she has done to get expelled from her last school and when she said she would have done more, he said he KNEW THERE WAS A REASON HE LIKED HER. And at this moment there’s a connection between them, just two very messed-up kids who sometimes enjoy doing bad things. I think this scene was very essential to their entire relationship. Because at this moment W knew Tyler isn’t just a “sweet and kind normie” and Tyler knew for sure that Wednesday is a strong adversary.

And THEN the HYDE attacks Eugene after Ms.T/LG burns the cave. AND THE HYDE DOESN’T KILL EUGENE. why? Because Wednesday is close by? It hasn’t stopped him before. So why then? Maybe because he KNOWS Eugene is important to Wednesday?

ep.6. Tyler “delivered” the cake, knew what Wednesday liked and he MADE it himself. He went investigating with her and Enid to the Gates House. And YES he did this entire misdirect “I’m not the Hyde, look, he has hurt me” but he didn’t hurt Wednesday. Enid. Or Xavier. He didn’t hurt anybody then. Maybe because nobody ordered him to. Maybe because he didn’t want to.

And finally ep7. Which I believe is the most crucial in Wednesday-Tyler’s relationship. The ep begins with the Mayor’s funeral (who Ms.T/LG killed completely THIS TIME) and I don’t think Tyler pretends to be upset. The Mayor is one of his father’s friends. So he knew the man his whole life. This loss hurts. He’s upset and he glances toward Wednesday, even more upset he can’t talk to her, since his father is watching and he doesn’t want them to talk after Tyler “got hurt because of her recently”. AND THEN WE HAVE Ms.Thornhill/LaurelGates doing. She wants the diary from W’s room. So she needs W out (and stabs THING IN THE BACK), but I’m certain all she told Tyler was like “distract her so I could blah blah blah” and not “Throw this whole movie night and after you two can kiss” because NO. That’s unrealistic. and Tyler WENT ALL THE WAY TRULY.. (would he really REALLY try this hard just to gain something from Wednesday?? We’re talking about a teenage boy here. He LIKED HER TRULY.) preparing this wonderful date/picnic in the crypt with all these lights(so many lights there) and THE MOVIE, Legally Blonde, which he KNEW would be torture to Wednesday, and he knew she will like it. Because he has taken so much damn time to GET TO KNOW WEDNESDAY. and honestly, between working as a barista? and listening to his “master” and killing as The Hyde? AND all the arguing with his father? And his regular therapy sessions? Plus, we didn’t see it, but Tyler had to go to some normies school, correct? So I just REFUSE to believe he went after Wednesday just to make her distracted, due to order. No. Too much hard work. Too much wasted time. And it’s a teenage boy. Just NO. There was a genuine interest. And some real feelings involved.

What has he gained by not telling his Father about Wednesday’s Uncle Fester being in town and hiding? Nothing but her TRUST. And yes, Wednesday shared SO MUCH with Tyler only because he was so patient and kind and because he gained her TRUST. And her trusting Him means NOTHING to Ms.T/LG final plan. She didn’t need Wednesday liking Tyler or trusting him or whatever. She needed Wednesday in some places, and that’s all. And the whole “patient emergency” Dr.K told Wednesday about? I think it was Tyler, because then she opens the bathroom door(?) I believe, and THERE’S THE HYDE. Because, yup, Dr. was figuring it out. And also Tyler and Wednesday almost kissed before and it’s a LOT for a teenage boy. I can’t even fathom how does it feel to a boy who has two personalities inside and who knows somebody else is completely controlling him and he can do nothing but listen. Plus, he’s SURPRISED when Wednesday comes to him, and when she says, in her words, I guess, that she wants to be more than friends. And she kisses him first. He never forced himself on her. And even before when Sheriff interrupted them in the crypt, they were BOTH going for a kiss. And definitely, Ms.T/LG wasn’t “making Wednesday feel special” by ordering the teenage boy she controls to kiss W. Because that would be another level of psycho.

So yeah, I believe Tyler sees Wednesday as a lethal adversary, and he has a lot of respect for her because of that. As both Tyler and the Hyde. Then as Tyler, he likes her truly and he sees many similarities between them and this part of him truly thought of Wednesday as a FRIEND, and as a teenage boy, OF COURSE, he simply wanted more than friends, which is normal. But as he goes deeper and deeper into Hyde and all the anger and hatred and crazy.. he’s also upset because he realizes he just can’t be like other normal teenagers. As Hyde, he sees Wednesday as the problem. An intriguing one, but still, a problem. I’m really curious about where his storyline goes in the future seasons when Ms.Thornhill/LaurenGates is no longer “master” and he’s just Tyler/Hyde traumatized, angry, hurt, and abused teenage boy. I would love to see him reaching out FOR HELP to Wednesday or W reaching out to him, to help, and both of them acknowledging how they are in so many, many ways similarly fucked-up.

CONGRATS IF YOU READ IT ALL. I wrote it mostly for myself to sort my thoughts about this, but yeah CONGRATS.

And absolutely NO HATE toward Tyler Galpin, he’s just a traumatized teenage boy who was groomed and abused by a super psycho woman, and just right under his father’s nose. And Wednesday’s-who was supposed to be his friend-kinda too. (she was ALSO torturing him)

+UPDATE: what reason Tyler had to talk to Bianca to ask her to take a gift from Enid back to Wednesday and what reason he had to obviously get upset when Bianca asked, “Aren’t you her boyfriend” and he said, “Definitely not”(ep6). Was this a part of MissT/LG plan to “make Wednesday feel special”? while Wednesday wasn’t even there?

Please.

Also he KNEW Wednesday well enough to know she didn’t wrote the note, he KNEW Thing did, but he showed up and kept playing the game, prepared to call Wednesday out. Because (as the final moments of their date show btw) he’s very quick with responses and playing the game(whatever game W was playing with him hahah), playing off each other in general.

+EDIT December 2024 : I’ve made this post back in December 2022, two whole years ago; I’ve been rewatching WEDNESDAY lately to remember things for Season2 premiering in 2025, and I ACTUALLY STILL AGREE WITH ALL THE STUFF MYSELF from 2 years ago thought and felt(!!). I also hope S2 focuses more on Tyler (and his mom’s story!) and when he was The Hyde/when himself, more like Jekyll/Hide, did he even REMEMBER everything that happened as Tyler or not at all, was he watching from the backseat seeing ALL but unable to do anything? that would explain a)why he told W he wishes he could get out of town as well in ep1 or b) why was he screaming in that bathtub a few episodes later because he did REALIZE what is happening. But then was he lying when W confronted him about the truth? Or wasn’t he? I want THE ANSWERS. And i want SOMEONE. ANYONE. ANYBODY to say out loud that YES Tyler(Hyde) did kill all these people but HE WAS GROOMED TO DO SO. He was used, tortured, and abused. He was never the villain. He is not the villain. He is also a Victim. I WOULD LOVE FOR HIM TO BE ACCEPTED TO NEVERMORE IN S2 as a student, because when(if) Morticia becomes the new principal why the heck not? Let’s welcome him there, offer him help? (I’m delusional but yeah)

+EDIT SEPTEMBER 2025 after season 2:

Picking up editing after s2 right here after my last edits, so we got some new lore about the Hydes. Their feelings and subconsciousness appear the be one and the same, as yes you can fight the monster inside you but it’s mostly your rage, anger and pain magnified, not two personalities inside you. Doesn’t mean of course that Tyler saying he enjoyed killing ppl in 1x08 was 100% true, as with many other victims of grooming and abuse that could be the only way he could go on with what he’s been through with the tragic acceptance that some part of him liked it, enjoyed some of what happened. So no Jekyll/Hyde situation in s2 at least part 2 because Tyler’s free will was taken away AGAIN. maybe in s3 WHEN WE FINALLY SEE MORE OF REAL TYLER we will get some of the answers to the questions that bothered us for last 3 years between s1 and s2 that i mentioned above. Now to the post. I will split season 2 Tyler’s arc/feelings into part 1 and 2 because i don’t see how i can do this otherwise.. Jenna herself said about Tyler Galpin during press that he’s “the most tortured character of the show” but after S2 part 1 i thought it couldn’t get any worse. His dad? Dead. He killed his abuser, groomer, master(yay!) but also brought doom on himself as Thornhill/Gates only shared with him info about Hydes that helped her agenda so he had no idea how bad it would turn out for him after killing her. Granted he would do so anyway. His mom also ‘dead’. so he’s an orphan now, and he’s all alone and losing his mind and weaker and weaker, he doesn’t have any friends, the only person who wouldn’t be afraid of him or wanted to use him told him he’s nobody and basically wants nothing to do with him now. Also right after his rage outburst and killing his master he threw her out of the window so now she’s in a coma, there’s also that. And it’s been 2 weeks? And he’s on the run from police, and people who catch Willow Hill patients who were free enough to run away. He should have left Jericho. He didn’t. Instead he’s hiding underground. Losing his mind. Talking to the hallucination of his dead father that is truly the manifestation of how Tyler feels about where he ended up, and he’s somehow yet able to get a ‘GET WELL’ black card for Wednesday and flowers that need time to die to be the dead flowers that She would appreciate when she wakes up on her favorite holiday and he would know when because apparently just like Agnes whom he had to spot at the hospital and that’s how he knows she’s W’s friend, he’s also at the damn hospital in nurse clothes all the time waiting for Wednesday to wake up. Why? When he could have just left town? Because W is the only thing that keeps his mind grounded to reality, to his past, to his old life. He’s 16 or 17yo who was abused, chained to a wall, tortured, groomed, put through drugs and chemicals, then locked up in the asylum with a shock collar on his neck and not enough clothes and safe space from adults around him again? Chained to a wall again?? Had to hear “Mommy loves you” more times than he would like(and that is STILL only S2 part 1???!! )And now he might be dying? He doesn’t know what’s going on? He’s desperate and W might be the only one able to help. Of course he doesn’t give a damn about killing/hurting Enid. He needs Wednesday. To hurt her again? To kill her? To beg her for help or forgiveness? Perhaps he doesn’t even know himself. He’s going insane and he’s exhausted. And that’s how it ends for him in 2x04 and I thought part 2 of s2 will show us how deeper his insanity goes, how he fights his insides out literally. NOT that he will be a pawn in somebody’s else’s agenda AGAIN. because now all his feelings and his own will are trashed down and locked up AGAIN. and my boy deserves so much better!!

Let’s rewind to the beginning of s2, i believe it has been like 2 or 3 months of vacation time? The Hyde/master bond is weaker, W goes back to Nevermore after scalping that serial killer, everyone has fun on their break. Excepted the kids who were groomed (poor Bianca looking at you, hopefully you and Tyler can be friends in the future!). Tyler has been locked up, all alone, getting electrocuted from a shock collar on his neck every single time he would BEGIN to transform. We know Fairburn talked with him and we know he mentioned Wednesday A LOT. We don’t know more unfortunately. We have seen his cell. The bed? The toilet? The wall with chains? And i assume he’s been chained to that wall like that the entire time unless he wanted to use the toilet or sleep? What about shower time? What about meals? How many adults watched his every move on cameras while he was naked, alone, and afraid?? Reminding you he’s a teenager who has been ABUSED and HURT by the adults in the past. And now this has been his life for MONTHS. no more fake idea of normie daily life. No more school, no more work as a barista, no more dates in the crypt with the girl he likes. No more showers in his own bathroom with locked doors when he can scream and cry while cleaning up somebody else’s blood out of his body. HIS FATHER VISITED HIM ONCE, and Tyler was too angry and hurt to hear him out. Well. Fair. Donovan failed him. Neglected him. And LET’S NOT FORGET that scene in 1x01 script that they shot, but did not use after that is canon to me and definitely to Hunter while he played Tyler-the scene will be in this post as a picture of the script, scroll down!-long story short Sheriff would not only ignore and neglect his kid he would also drink(often) and then hit his son. So often that Tyler wouldn’t even be that much bothered when it happened. And the way Donovan talked about Tyler’s mom whom Ty so idolized? After he learned the truth? He was SURE his father hated him and the monster he turned out to be, just like his mother. He didn’t know how HARD Donovan tried to fix that when he was digging into Willow Hill’s dark doings, he’s never learned that his father would stare into Wednesday’s eyes and say “MY SON IS AN OUTCAST” learning to accept that. Own that. Not try to CHANGE that. (vital for a better parent maybe but this isn’t about part 2 of s2 yet even if MY RAGE was huge while learning that you can have TWO parents who slap you. All adults away from Tyler right fucking now!) The point is Donovan was broken by the visit and trying his best to care about his son, he kept digging into Willow Hill, and he kept drinking. And then he was killed while literally watching old tapes of his son as a happy child and his ‘long dead’ wife. Donovan was still wearing the wedding ring. And then in part 2 we learn he build we-learn-what. By no means he was perfect. But he was trying. He was trying to love his son the only way he knew how. It wasn’t enough. Because from Tyler’s side? His father didn’t even get to say anything as Fairburn told W. He showed up. And the rage and the pain (by that point Tyler knew Thornhill/Gates abused him and was the reason his life went the way it did but he also knew his father didn’t try to help enough) were too much. He started transforming into a Hyde. And the adults around gave a teenage Tyler’s shock collar 5 MINUTES!!! blasts so he would drop to the floor nearly lifeless probably. Nobody else visited him since. The girls with hots for the hyde were not allowed in, nobody told Tyler about them. Fairburn was talking with him but we don’t even know how. Was she in the room? Or was he alone in there and talking to a person who showed up in the doorway from time to time? Only hearing her voice sometimes? He wanted Wednesday to visit him so badly. Anyone, really, I bet. He was trapped, alone, and W might have been his only source of hope at getting out. Both Tyler/Hyde had to think that. Thornhill/Gates, the master, abandoned him. He finally saw how deeply she fucked his life. And then FINALLY he thinks Wednesday gave in to the feelings and came back for him. In his defense to the levels of delusion there or the famous ‘We’re two black-hearted souls ready to pillage the world together” which yes might be a bit too much, but again in his defense he has been locked up in there with no idea what’s happening in the real world, probably talking to himself in his head, envisioning all the different ways his next meeting with Wednesday would go. He would not plead or beg. He would meet her at her level. As he always has been doing. With their banter. The levels of exhaustion after all the torture and his shitty life at Willow Hill probably didn’t even let him THINK that hey perhaps she won’t be ready to play, that perhaps she will show up and give him the worst possible news about his father, that she will only be there to get something from him but not to offer anything back. Perhaps he will be desperate enough to keep her in there just for a few more moments and knowing her as well as he does he will be forced to do the unhinged, like threatening to kill Enid even if he doesn’t give a single fuck about Enid. But she would tell him she won’t be coming back again. And he would end up on his knees screaming from rage and desperation and pain all combined. Also another doses from the shock collar. Did Fairburn tell him how long ago Wednesday delivered all that was needed in the eyes of the law to request seeing him? Did he convince himself she will go see him anyway? Did he allow himself to believe she will DO SOMETHING? Was he angry that his father was dead and they have never gotten a chance to even try to fix things? That he couldn’t even show the heartbreak because Wednesday was right in front of him, accusing him of the crimes? Did he find it in himself to still be sassy enough for the “You got me, Wednesday, i’m a criminal mastermind pulling the strings from in here” to mock her, to then realize she only wanted his help, to then letting her know she won’t get it, to then being so desperate that his lips tremble when he grasps for something to keep her there, to then her cruel words that confirm his most depressing thoughts and beliefs about himself? To then being left all alone? Again? THE TENSION IN THAT 2x02 scene is insane BUT I NEED TO STOP HERE to say that M. Millar said “You don’t see them on screen a lot this season, but when you do, it’s always really impactful.” DAMN RIGHT. And another thing in general the way season 2 unfolds the story, even without the Thornhill/Gates and what she has done, Tyler and W and their families are connected and has been in the past in so many ways?? Donovan was obsessed with arresting Gomez because the case was never fully solved and he believed Gomez to be guilty and walking free. He hated the Addams family. And then you have s2 part 2 plot when.. other family members of Tyler Galpin HATE the Addams family, knew them in their school years or wanted revenge on them, and THEN you also have A MEMBER OF The Addams Family the very same one that Tyler was trying to fight with while using a baseball bat(?) in s1 who is apparently also PART OF TYLER’S FAMILY?? we did not learn how Hydes have been banned from Nevermore (Weems said in s1 30 years ago?? But that had to be a lie, because then how Fran could be there?)but i assume the fault falls on Tyler’s and Wednesday’s families BOTH somehow. So W and T will and always have been CONNECTED in so many ways!! The Creators, Hunter, and Jenna ALL confirmed that Tyler has feelings for Wednesday, so we have NO DOUBT about it now. Literally NONE. What i think is truly TRAGIC(besides Tyler’s life in general) is how CONFLICTING it all is for him, a teenage boy, with how his story goes on and all the circumstances of season 2 part 2 when his free will is gone, and also he OBVIOUSLY goes with the family he so desperately longed for, because at the end of the day all this kid wants is to be loved and accepted and safe and free. Is he in the dark about what’s going on a lot? Yeah. Does he like how everything progresses? Nope, he’s not happy, he’s stressed as fuck but he goes along with all like somebody who has no other option and also no energy to fight anymore. Moreover, apparently Tyler’s feelings for W were meant to be very one-sided this second season, and it’s funny how Hunter said that when Wednesday’s feelings for Tyler are even more in our faces than Tyler’s especially during s2 part 2(YES I KNOW THIS ISN’T  A POST ABOUT W’s feelings but just side note here as i’m so angry when i see people saying she doesn’t care about him. BRO? have we seen the same show? s1 Wednesday would not let anyone touch her, definitely not hold her. The only exception? Yeah Tyler. s1 Wednesday Addams who holds eye contact with everyone but BREAKS IT so often with Tyler, who clearly CAN drive, and who clearly could steal a car(as we are aware thanks to s2!!) but still waits an entire WEEK for Tyler to give her a ride out of town. The same Tyler whom she SO VISIBLY checked out before offering him her name when they met. The same Tyler who got against his father and gave her Gomez Addams’ file. Who wouldn’t be afraid of her. Whom she wouldn’t be able to figure out. Who would listen to her and offer clever replies and genuine help. S1 Wednesday who takes a 25min walk to Jericho to have Tyler make her quads because apparently there is no coffee at Nevermore, the same girl who hangs out with friends or family members in probably the most popular hanging out spot for everyone in town (the same girl who is scared of intimacy and crowds-Jenna’s and Tim Burton’s words). The same girl who shows up so often at the Weathervane to read as if Nevermore doesn’t have a library and the crowded cafe is quiet enough place to do productive research. The same girl who WANTED to introduce Tyler to her uncle, smiled at their interaction, and proceeded check Tyler out and stare him up and down more than ONCE mind you with her uncle sitting right in front of them. The same girl who told Tyler his father told her to stay away from him, because she was so sure HE would react the way he did. The same girl who would be at Weathervane DAILY, where Tyler works, so often that everyone there would know her, that Bianca would assume that Tyler is her boyfriend(?!).The same s1 Wednesday who so rarely said Thank You, but did say it to Tyler? More than once?! s1 W who goes to the stupid dance she doesn’t care about just because Tyler showed up at her door?? She has never had a problem with telling someone NO, or hurting them. And yet she goes. For him. With him. And before that she hesitates when telling him about going with Xavier? She does not hesitate with anyone else. Not to mention she literally stops and asks him why he is becoming upset. She does not OBJECT that there is something between them. She dances with him while Principal Weems watches with a smile. (Weems is such a DIAMOND for W&T especially in s2 she calls W out like nobody else and i’m SO grateful she’s the new spirit guide hopefully in s3 as well!). S1 W who sees the complex & dark nature of him that assures her that perhaps they are more similar than she realized, that he truly sees her, and he does let her know that it’s because of who she is at her core. S1 Wednesday who lied to both Enid and Tyler just so she could do what SHE wanted to do on her birthday which was investigating, with both of them there, yup she wanted to do that with Them. S1 Wednesday who learns Tyler’s number so she could call him at any time from anywhere(as she refuses to get her own phone) so she could “use him or his help” anytime she wants. The one who goes on a date with him, trusts him enough to close her eyes, watches a whole movie that is torture that she enjoys, that she thanks him for AFTER, and when he lets her know he wants more she tells him it’s a bad idea but leans in for the kiss?? The s1 Wednesday “We have to go back for Tyler” who literally got on her knees in front of him in his house to help him with his wounds? The one who hates touch, yup, same one. The same one who when she surely thought she solved the case immediately walks by foot 25min in night hours to town, while it’s snowing(!) to kiss him and be more than friends. Who looked at him LIKE THAT when they kissed, who smiled after. And whose ego and pride and heart got bruised so hard when she had that vision, when she learned the truth. Who STILL admitted how on brand for her is that HE is what he is. And also her first kiss. Her first romantic anything. Who then confronts him and tortures him at the same time softly calling him “Tyler!” and asks him questions as if expecting he WILL tell her. Who doesn’t have an issue with him killing people, as she’s aware he wasn’t THE master. She has an issue with being betrayed. S1 Wednesday who allows herself to let her guard down fully with only one person. With him. Who now feels stupid and foolish and full of anger. At him. At Thornhill. At herself. And then s2 Wednesday who refuses to acknowledge anything bc as her Grandmama says bury all those feelings down inside you and let them rot, so denial is the way. But her obsession with the monster and the boy that is the monster refuses to go away. That girl. S2 Wednesday who NEEDED to complete all these paper documents that would allow her to even request seeing Tyler WEEKS before she would be granted a YES. So basically, she left Nevermore. She drowned the phone Xavier gave her, and started research on what she needs to see Tyler again. Closure, funny, Wednesday. What would you do if Donovan wasn’t killed? What excuse would you have then? S2 Wednesday who tells Donovan that Tyler was ALWAYS a monster because that’s what she’s telling herself because that is easier. The same girl who a second later tells a broken father that it’s a shame he couldn’t save his own son. Logically there’s no way both can be true or that she believes both at her core. So Tyler has always been a monster, or could he have been saved and helped? He was always a monster because otherwise he would be a victim who needed help and who didn’t get it from anyone, not the adults around him, not the Shrink whom they both shared, like he was going to therapy and the therapist missed the fact that he was being abused and groomed. There were signs for sure, but Wednesday missed them to, she was so obsessed with the monster in the woods that she didn’t look long enough at the boy in front of her whom she actually was developing feelings for. Crazy. THE IDEA THAT s1 Wednesday’s investigation was uncovering Tyler as the monster but so much of  her investigation in s2 is making her see Tyler as the boy he was? The bullpen or whatever the code name, she only found what she has because an old picture of Tyler’s caught her attention, and her pause just staring at it? At him?. If the cops wouldn’t be so close when she found dead Donovan in the Galpins’ house?? she would go search Tyler’s room. For clues only of course. Just like she kept all those photos Agnes gave her along with Donovan’s phone. Pictures of baby Tyler Galpin are VERY important evidence. The s2 Wednesday who never directly denies Tyler’s “You sensed the monster in me and you fell in love with it.” The so very not her outburst when Tyler ragebaits her when she tells him about his subpar barista skills and generic looks?? girl jokes on you because you were there every day just to see him and drink the quads he was making you. The tears in her eyes? I might ignore that since Jenna said often some scenes might appear as if she was crying due to not blinking for so long. But they could use another take? And yet final take is W with tears in her eyes as she turns to leave him there screaming, and before her voice breaks a little at “my black heart grin” at him being locked up and chained? Okay. That scene in Slow motion, poetic cinema oh gosh, everything’s on W’s face when she and Thornhill/Gates run and pass each other? S2 Wednesday KNOWS where the groomer is running, she knows Tyler will get free, she doesn’t know more but she thinks about it all, you see her try to decide if she can abandon her mission with uncle Fester or not. When we find out he “tried to kill her” on her favorite day, The Day of the dead? and he mentions that he’s a psychopath but he’s poetic? “He may be a deranged psychopath but his timing is poetic.” She was fascinated with the details. And then the obsession with finding him and controlling him? Because control gives power, and guess who took away all her power lately. Because control would mean she can entertain some ideas about Tyler at all. Because s2 Wednesday doesn’t care that the Hyde killed his last master. Doesn’t care when her own mother tells her “don’t court this monster”. Doesn’t care about Ms. Capri’s warnings, like yes she tells Capri “You fell in love with a monster” she gets it. And she’s aware what she wants to try to do is insane and yet.. Now he’s losing his mind and dying, she could have just waited and let him die. But no. She’s researching and looking for a way to bond him to herself forever, she deliberately goes out of her way and is so certain that it will work, like girl i applaud the confidence “Tyler! Enough! We both know it’s me who you really want. What if I lied about my feelings? You were right. I was attracted to you. But you do know there’s only one way we can truly be together. Say hello to your new master.”?! that’s an insane thing to say while trying to link herself to somebody forever girl. S2 Wednesday that could simply say all that and not yet mean it but does it matter if she stood there committed to creating a bond with him that would last a lifetime? When she could simply knock him down and get him locked up again? When she could not care instead? She sets the trap and plans to do so in abandoned church(!) with Nightshades as witnesses and then two mothers interrupt, the SYMBOLISM goes crazy!! Her denial when everyone calls her out is almost hysterical with how bleeding on the screen her TRUE feelings are. “Thornhill was methodical and detached. You have feelings for him” ily Weems. “I hate Tyler. End of story.” “Hate is a feeling, along with fear, contempt, concern, and love.”  The s2 Wednesday that was buried alive not knowing if she will live or not and what she decides she wants to be the last things he sees? Instead of staring down at the person who was burying her or her own little brother in chains she’s staring at Tyler, her eyes never leaving his. Okay. The same girl who later tells Agnes and Enid, “I enjoyed that”, the same girl who was burying Pugsley for fun when they were kids mind you. The s2 Wednesday that went to Tyler first instead of her own brother, (”Kill me” “Why?” “I missed.”)and when he asked her to Kill Him she didn’t, she couldn’t. Said that she missed, but we all know she never does. Tyler knows it too. And the way she wasted precious time just staring at him, girl what about your brother? The way I MISSED can have two meaning because she surprised herself there and maybe, just maybe, realized Weems could have been right, and some little part of her accepted that in that fleeting moment and admitted that she missed this? Him? Being in each other’s presence? Just simply being two teenagers together which they were only able to do alone TOGETHER? S2 Wednesday that apparently has Agnes bringing her morning caffe and that has never not even once bothered to walk to the Weathervane? bc now why would she?? Season 2 Wednesday who had read the reports about Tyler/Enid fight which she wasn’t there for and called out Enid about how she was losing before Donovan fired shots at his own son?? S2 W that tells her brother to be quiet and instead of freeing him she has her attention on Tyler and his Mother and their family’s drama? “I haven’s enjoyed a mother-son relationship like this since Psycho.” she’s still as fascinated with him as ever. The s2 Wednesday that asks herself “Why did I slice Tyler’s bonds rather than his jugular, and will that impulsive act of mercy become my undoing?” I could go on, I probably forgot other signs of W’s feelings now in the moment but this post isn’t about W but T so yeah. Someone said, “Wednesday and Tyler are fun bc you really get a brand new flavor of the “i can fix him” love story trope. She is genuinely worse. She is worse as a CHOICE, and while Tyler barely attempts to fight his instincts, at least he has a general sense of code. She is manipulative, conniving, and cruel. She’s the toxic one. That’s so funny. She doesn’t want to save him, she wants to devour him”. Like watch s3(!) Wednesday that sees Tyler again and after she sorted and analyzed her feelings still wants to be his master, but Tyler(hopefully!) has done some healing, found a pack with Capri and others, hopefully Enid too, and they help her(Enid) as well, E and T are friends now, and he doesn’t want to be anybody’s monster ever again, while Wednesday is very much still into the idea. She was always obsessed with him and fascinated and always will be. She does want to devour him. They are both freaks, and a psycho, and toxic, and complex, and layered, that’s why i love them so much, they MATCH one another’s darkness so well!)

But back to Tyler and his feelings for Wednesday in Season 2 Part 1. I really don’t want this post to become TOO LONG but there’s so much to talk about, so many details and moments even if they only had 2 scenes together. So yeah Tyler is not happy not healing not safe, and W is determined, cold and detached. So he’s trying to get something out of her, as he usually does and has been. “What do you think of the place? It was originally designed for a schizophrenic werewolf who went on a full moon killing spree in the summer of ‘92″ no Hi. No how have you been. No begging for help, or even waiting for HER to start. Nope the road he chooses is quite interesting. Now, some have said that it’s the Hyde talking not Tyler but since s2 told us that while sure he might be struggling with his true self(especially after the abuse and grooming) Tyler/Hyde is one and the same, The Hyde is simply more unhinged Tyler, and he has been here FOR MONTHS. instead he’s smart. He doesn’t beg, he’s trying to seem like the one who is in the winning position, kinda remind her that she lost, that he was smarter. And also keep her interested. He found a fun morbid fact and he’s sharing that, hoping that she will bite back. And she does. Reminding how he lost to Enid. The tension between them is so electric that it’s shocking the glass wall is still in one piece. He knew she will respond like that so he’s unfazed. And then he hits into the subject HE wants to discuss. Them. He wants to talk about Them. “It was inevitable your morbid curiosity would bring you here. I know you couldn’t resist seeing me again.” NOW this confidence is a mix of two things, first, he’s obviously correct and he knows that. And two, even if he wasn’t right he has been locked up for so much time and had so many talks with her in his mind only that he definitely has rewritten their past which means the way HE sees what has happened between them is a little bit more intense than it in fact was. Because it meant a lot to him, and it could have been very well the only time he was just a happy, excited teenager, she was his light in his horrible life. And he still doesn’t know it will get SO MUCH WORSE. Obviously, Wednesday being in denial about everything in their past is NOT having any of this talk one way or another. She asks him about the deluded lie he’s been telling himself sitting there in solitude. And she is.. correct as well. Which only adds to this scene and its meaning. THAT causes him to be angry, and snap a little because she hit a little too hard. “The only person lying to themselves is you, Wednesday.” (i believe this is the first time he had a chance to call her by her name since their last scenes in s1, notice how it’s still so soft in his mouth) “You sensed the monster in me and you fell in love with it. We’re two black-hearted souls ready to pillage the world together.” notice how he just kept going here more and more intense as it builds up /it’s so insane it’s nearly endearing it would work on me fr/. Some say he’s basically letting her know here that she can be his new master and they can be a couple of monsters. I personally think it’s more complex than that. He’s speaking to what they HAD, because it’s all he has LEFT. And because he believes, sadly, in his mind, that it’s the ONLY part of him that Wednesday was ever truly attracted to. This is why he’s bringing it up. He doesn’t think asking for help will do anything, or reminding her about their first date, or a kiss, he’s sure that THIS is the only way to go. As in “You’re dark and fucked up and I am too, this is why you liked me. Now how are you going to get me out of here” . As I said he might have been a lil too delusional. After all it’s Wednesday. Was he expecting that she will say, “You’re right. Let’s begin. I’m getting you out soon.” that’s unrealistic on so many levels, and sure i have seen fanfics like that BUT nope nobody would allow teenage W to get her psycho dangerous monster ex bf out of there. And somehow, he believed she would find a way. And when she ignores his words and bites again, he still has hope even if anger also appears because she won’t admit the truth. Mind you, from his side she has little to nothing to be mad at him about or feel betrayed by. After all, his choices were not his. And yet, she’s a teenage girl, she’s hurt, she’s mad. She has every right to be angry, to want space from him, to want him to be locked up even. Unfortunately he only has his own point of view. And it’s getting more and more unhinged the more he’s locked up all alone. “You act like you’re the smartest person in the room but you’re not.” + “Because you got lucky.” he’s calling her out and he’s right AGAIN. proven by the past. Notice his eyes bulging he’s so close to transforming into the Hyde and changing. And the Hyde is basically all his feelings and emotions heightened. He’s cornered, rejected, and desperate. As Hunter said he waited for W to visit him for so long, now she finally has. He was flirting, trying to get under her skin, show her that he’s still as clever and interesting as he was, while also reminding her that he IS the monster she was obsessed with. And then--She watches him gets shocked from the collar, takes a bit and delivers the news. She’s almost gentle about it, as if waiting if something will slip, break, something more vulnerable will show in him after. And to a careful eye we SEE the change when he learns that his father is dead, murdered last night. But he WON’T show it to W, he refuses to, because he doesn’t think he can, because he believes she would think it a weakness, something against being on his side. So he acts like it’s nothing. Hides the hurt and the pain like he’s used to. He lets himself ask about it. And then it all goes horribly wrong but also predictably so, because they are both so guarded now, they are both being watched on cameras, and neither will be vulnerable and honest first. So W reveals her excuse for seeing him. It’s ridiculous and brings back the sassy Ty we love “You got me, Wednesday. I’m a criminal mastermind pulling the strings from in here.” she knows he knows it’s stupid but she keeps asking and this is when Tyler’s entire body’s demeanor shifts. Because she truly is here to get information out of him. Not to help him a little bit. And that realization must be horrible. Doesn’t matter if it’s even true on W’s part or not, if she did want to see him, or not. He’s just facing another person who has no problem with abandoning him. He gets spiteful and mean, and she just turns to leave. That’s where the pain and desperation truly hit and we see his trembling lips, the tense of his body, the panic in his eyes, he knows her well enough to know what to say to keep her in there, still NOW he can’t be sure if it will even work (sidenote ‘I want her screams to haunt you for the rest of your life’ is such an interesting choice from him. Because he sounds like he has lived it so he knows the power of that. Poor baby whose screams are haunting you? The first victims of the Hyde? Your psychiatrist you had to kill? Eugene? Rowan? Perhaps your own when you pleaded with Thornhill?? Him saying that gave me chills). It does. And then she hits him back with her words. Hard. Imagine she was his only hope of getting out of there, feelings aside. And not only she’s not here to help, but also his father was killed, and she just told you you’re nothing and you will rot in this cell forever until everyone forgets about you? And the pain SO QUICKLY TURNS INTO RAGE that feeds the Hyde. Another shock from the collar on his neck so strong it sends him on his knees. Because god forbid somebody in the Psych Ward offers an Outcast monster some love instead of THIS. And then W, clearly seeing how much space she’s taking in his head, and how she is winning now, tells him she will never visit again. THAT finally pushes him to lose it completely. He doesn’t even care that she sees and hears him screaming. NOTICE HOW FAST HE SHIFTS INTO THE HYDE WITH W, but somehow can manipulate and be slow and patient and clever with others(later in the season). It’s almost as if Wednesday is causing him to break so much faster than anybody else. The way seeing his father again was also able to do. Anger. Pain. Hurt. That drives him over the edge. Some said that THIS MOMENT with Wednesday finally pushed him into getting the strength to end his master and to want to be free. I will say it was a mix of all, W, his father killed, soon seeing Thornhill/Gates again, calling herself his Mommy again, the adults around letting her come close to him again. I didn’t miss the fear on his face when he first saw her. He was dreaming of that moment yes. He wanted to be free. He wanted to kill her. She wasn’t his mother. This post is already so chaotic and all over the place (That after s2 update at least) BUT i can’t talk about T’s feelings for W without talking about his abuse, torture, and stuff that happen to him, and kept happening to him during all of s2. And when i thought 2x04 was enough and he was finally FREE but also doomed? And he might be losing his mind now? Dying even?... Holy fuck s2 part 2 showed us all that it can only go WORSE from there. As Hunter said, to Tyler, W was the only person who was never afraid of him, who never tried to use him. And now she showed up, after so much time, to gather intel. He’s hurt and he’s full of rage. He doesn’t want to kill Enid, not really, or W, not really, but he’s also losing his mind, doesn’t know what to do, and makes some decisions that are so illogical and stupid and insane and he doesn’t even see that because his world and life are falling apart. He’s on a quest for revenge. Thornhill/Gates first. And then “I will take care of Wednesday” this can be seen in so MANY ways. first, people pointed out how his attention snaps back to Laurel when she revealed W is in the building, as if he was considering if perhaps W’s back for Him. Personally i think it was more that he was happy she’s close. Because he got hurt, she left and abandoned him too. And now he wants her to pay. Like any teenage boy would. Too bad he’s also The Hyde with so much rage and strength, right? So we have Tyler not recognizing his mother whom Wednesday so gently freed (so much that goes into that for their (W+T) story) we know Tyler JUST MURDERED THORNHILL/GATES, he is FULL of rage. And also FINALLY free. And yet, he’s thinking about one thing only WEDNESDAY. As any teenager who likes a girl would. Only he’s a normie AND a Hyde. W doesn’t run, she STILL isn’t afraid. AND perhaps THAT most of all is what gives him even more rage. He “tries to kill her” but does he? He doesn’t kill her. We have seen him murder people before. I believe he killed like 7 people in total during s1, most on his master’s orders. We can argue that Rowan who was choking W to death was his own choice. Because again he’s also a teenage boy who likes a girl. Now his first free choice kill. His master. Everything he said to her. The way he let her run from him for a moment. Everything was his own. He chose how he will finally end her. AND HE GOT TO KILL HIS ABUSER AND A GROOMER(also she literally USED the word out loud, thank you netflix it was so vital to mention it!) He tore through her body and threw her away like a doll, notice how the Hyde nearly rolled his eyes. HE WAS DO DONE WITH HER. And then we have Wednesday. And he’s standing in front of her. After killing his master MINUTES ago? Still full of rage. Not that i’m making excuses but i think it is TELLING how he could so easily do to her the same he did to Thornhill/Gates, or even injure W the same way he had Eugene(when he was clearly trying to stop himself cmon), but nope. He wanted to say something that would land. Because he’s a freak. And he’s hurt. And he’s angry. I would actually LOVE to see the entire scene of HOW he pushed her/threw her out of that window. Just so theories and analysis would be MUCH EASIER then with seeing it. Why it took him like 13 seconds to jump out of that window himself after? What happened in his head? That’s HONESTLY the part i’m most disappointed with in s2, that I GET WHY in s1 we couldn’t get much of the inside of his pov, his feelings, his thoughts, he had to be mystery. For all of us to fall for him and then be shocked. Just like Wednesday. Some, like me, were not shocked bc signs were there but ANYWAY in s2 we could have gotten MORE of a look into his head, and all we got as a way of that are his actions towards Wednesday more free-ish in s2 part 1 and less free-ish and more way mooore subtle in s2 part 2, him talking to his dead father’s ghost was the most intimate we got to Tyler ever and it HURTS. because i care about him so much, and i want him to heal, and i want him to be his own person, and i want him to be the main character he is. It’s his story as much as W and Enid’s and in s2 part 2 he’s basically playing the same role he was in s1, free him from any adults i shout as loud as i can. He doesn’t NEED to be a mystery STILL cmon! Back to that 2x04 window scene. Francoise has been such a BOOM hit on us in part 2 maybe because of how she was in part1. We saw a broken, scared woman, who saw a Hyde, and didn’t click any facts and then run away. I get she was traumatized. But she was going to keep hiding, until she learned the police is close to Tyler so she goes to Morticia of all people(and later when we learn their shared past that is SUCH an insane choice. Not to mention she calls W an angel like twice, and then she sees her with Tyler in church inches from one another and all the gratitude is GONE. Not to mention her care for her child comes second to her brother. This isn’t a post about how weird and codependent her relationship with her bro is you all. I get she loved her son and wanted to save him, in her own way, I get she was locked up and experimented on for 15 years, i have lots of sympathy and empathy for her, i can understand lots of her choices. She was broken so badly that she became broken. And yet in trying to be good, she failed. The moment she slapped Tyler, i wanted her away from him. He already had one parent who was abusing him. Turns out Donovan was a better parent after all, plot twist, never wish for 3 years for a tortured boy to meet his mom who might not be dead. It can go so wrong. Anyhow in s2 part 1 she was somebody else, so the SWITCH was cruel, for all of us, not just Ty. That’s all I’m gonna say now about it) We didn’t see the moment he throws Wednesday out of the window so ALL we can do is theorize and speculate. “I’ll take care of Wednesday.” How? When? He pushed her out of the window because he can control how hard he pushed her and he KNOWS she will be hurt but not die? He doesn’t know but it was still a better outcome bc he was fighting the Hyde’s rage in his mind minutes after ending the life of his master? Because he already started losing his mind? Because pushing her meant he won’t tear her body to pieces? We might as well never know. And we probably won’t. We waited 3 years to see the real Tyler and huh turns out we might wait another 2 to ACTUALLY see him. He DID throw her out of the window, that’s a fact, everyone confirmed it. As one person joked on tiktok, “he sent her flying” he sure has. Did he regret it after? Was this why he didn’t even try to leave Jericho? I WISH WE COULD SEE MORE OF HIM during these two weeks? He was a wanted criminal on the run along with Fester and we know who else, and YET, we were never told that he tried to get OUT of town he wanted to leave so badly for the last year or even longer due to the trauma and abuse he experienced. Instead, he stayed. And what was he doing? Talking to the ghost of his father, about how his dead mom would be so disappointed with him now. About how he might not be great but he doesn’t NEED anybody. He just wants to be left alone. It was his own subconsciousness talking, his depression, his PTSD, his trauma, his GUILT. He had nowhere to run from his past. The choices that were not his, even if he might say once that he liked what he was doing. Later we learn that he considers The Hyde his power, not a curse, and i think THAT is really beautiful and important step for his own agency and healing arc, along with his disgust and discomfort with his two family members and what they’re doing. But to that LATER.

TYLER AND HIS FEELINGS FOR WEDNESDAY IN SEASON 2 PART 2, oh boyy this has been A LOT for Tyler. I truly.. didn’t expect THAT. Hunter did say that s2 part 2 is “Careful what you wish for situation for Tyler” i just figured it would not be his mother?? bc he suffered enough? I’m getting agonizing flashbacks to watching Landon Kirby’s storyline unfold. Similar with so many people wishing that would be just killed off and how they are boring and how the main girl should be with her less complex/complicated bestie. You don’t have to like a broken abused boy, dude, but please show empathy and acknowledge his pain and suffering. CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR. 2x05 where we pick up. Tyler wanted to be free from Thornhill/Gates master, that’s been going great as we see he’s thriving and not in pain at all. Freedom is bliss. Also the girl he liked? He put her in a coma. So he stole the nurse outfit and he visits a lot, because otherwise how would he know about Agnes later on? He must have spotted her at the hospital. ONE SCENE with Wednesday laying there and him visiting am i asking for a world peace? I am, but not in this post. Careful what you wish for. She has been in a coma for 2 weeks, you’re still on the run, you might even be dying, you feel horrible. You need help but you refuse to ask for it as you go even more insane. And also who would help you anyway? The only option is the girl you put in a coma. So you don’t know what to do, and what you want, and you keep finding ways(I WISH THEY SHOWED US HOWWW again!) to sneak into the hospital, to be there, to get the WHOLE ASS bouquet of flowers EARLY ENOUGH for them to rot and be dead flowers by the time she awakes, because you are a romantic at heart and you know she will eventually. By that point you have NO PLAN at all. You’re going crazy and you want Wednesday. So, Tyler Galpin. Right? The wonder of this boy. CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR MIGHT BE AS WELL about his mom being alive, something he was so desperate for that Thornhill/Gates was able to abuse him because of it. About killing W, wanting to kill her, but also then not wanting her to actually die. Wanting to be with his mom FINALLY but then also wanting to get away and not being able to. Wanting to be with Wednesday but then also wanting and not wanting her to be his new master. ABOUT SO MANY THINGS. Tyler baby stop wishing for things because the writers of the show you are on are not on your side right now. So.. Tyler, the wonder of him. He is chased by the police for 2 weeks and is able to stay free, completely on his own, while losing his mind, as a teenage 16/17 yo. Wow. He’s also able to buy/steal flowers for his girl. And wait for them to rot and die. And wait for her to wake up while he buys a ‘GET WELL’ black card, because duh, his girl is allergic to color and if she wakes up from the coma he put her in god forbid there’s any complication BECAUSE THEY NEED TO SEE EACH OTHER AGAIN. “You + Enid die TONIGHT” (the way he underlined TONIGHT like 3 times, same way as he had underlined 2 times that BIRTHDAY when he learned how to do Happy Birthday on top of that coffee for Wednesday for her birthday back in s1?! TYLER’S LOVE LANGUAGE IS ACTS OF SERVICE first, for sure) he IS going crazy, true, but also?? What else was he supposed to put there? He doesn’t know if he wants her dead or not, he’s torn, he’s broken, he’s going through it. Apparently he had multiple gunshots wounds from the cops when he escaped Willow Hill (notice how he didn’t kill anybody, not until that guy who was catching WH patients that escaped.) Mental breakdown first, haunted by his past and his choices, and then fighting for his life and killing to survive and to stay free. Meanwhile back to the hospital to check if Wednesday is awake. THE FACT THAT HE MUST HAVE BEEN THERE not noticed by ANYONE in the hospital, while W wakes up, has her talk with Judi or what’s the birds lady name, and packs and leaves her room and walks through the hallway PACKED WITH PEOPLE. Tyler you are INSANE and it’s actually impressing how far you go romantically. Asking the other nurse to deliver the note and the flowers? He made a choice to go with the revenge route he told W he will go with. Probably not because he wanted to kill Enid, but because he knew Wednesday would CARE about him trying to do that. And at that moment in time that’s all he needed. W to care. So he waves at her from across the hallway CROWDED WITH PPL!! and then when she starts chasing after him, he hides. Because wow wait, he’s not actually ready to face her NOW. He goes back to hiding aware that she knows he will keep coming. And then?? I suppose that’s the part of s2 arc storyline i loved the most for Tyler, he has nothing left, he’s losing his mind, he’s risking it all for a whim? His plan is.. not existing. He’s obsessed with Wednesday, the only part of his past life that was happy, sometimes. Makes sense. It’s tragic. It’s also entertaining. And more than seeing him suffer under someone else’s agenda in later eps. He’s free-he could do ANYTHING, and he chooses to stalk the hospital and Wednesday. That’s the end of this post you all, Tyler’s feelings for Wednesday explained in one line. Done. 2x05 might be my favorite W and T episode as a whole not because it was apparently supposed to be one sided love for Tyler even if we are BLINDED with Wednesday’s feelings and her need for control of the situation with him. He MUST be aware that it’s a trap when he sees THING(i laughed but that spoiler doesn’t add much to his feelings for W so yeah laugh but moving on), he sees Enid, runs after her because he KNOWS he will see Wednesday. Truly caring only about W when he finds Enid. So much for wanting to kill her. “WHERE’S WEDNESDAY? I know you’re not alone.” that’s all he needs. He’s there, at Nevermore, perhaps maybe even noticing how cruel and hypocritic it is, the event he is at, how he is the outcast that is not accepted but faced with an army of others that hold swords. “Mmm. Swords are cute but they’re no match for a Hyde.” i LOVE sassy Tyler, i love how he’s AWARE of his power. And i love how he’s standing there close to fainting and they notice but he acts like everything is fine. ”SHUT UP! STOP!” he’s fighting so hard to be in control. Notice how he isn’t really attacking? Just waiting for Wednesday to show up. And he senses her. And he pushes her away. Knows what she wants to do? Doesn’t? Who knows. Perhaps not even Tyler. The Nightshades try to fight him and he fights back but AGAIN does not murder anyone. He goes for Enid probably because he knows that’s WHAT will get Wednesday. Hyde raises a hand sure but anyone else? They would be dead already. Somehow W has time to stand and call after him. ONE “Tyler! Enough!” is well enough for him to put all his attention on Wednesday. Obviously, when she tells him she lied about her feelings and he was right he does NOT attack Wednesday, he just stands there, listening to her every word. So EASY to be caught in ANY trap. That breaks my heart because ALL Tyler Galpin ever wanted was to be loved and cared for, and he has never received that the way he deserved, or without something attached to the love or care. It was always conditional. And he is so desperate for it. And so scared of being abandoned and left behind. And those three things are TRULY his undoing in s2 part 2. The look in Hyde’s eyes when W goes about her being attracted to him is like ‘Is she for real? Is she lying? Is this a trick?’ boy should be smarter and run, but he isn’t. He won’t. “Say hello to your new master” what a line, what a confident delivery, W didn’t think FOR A SECOND that he will be against that. Which is even funnier while the next few seconds take place. Francoise as a Hyde breaks the window and ONLY THEN TylerHyde turns and react in any way. Before that? He doesn’t even flinch when W raises her hand and says that. Does it mean he wants her to actually BE his new master in that moment? Or is he simply still trying to figure out her admitting to him that she was attracted to him and there’s only one way they can truly be together? Perhaps he is considering this as if Well, if that’s the ONLY option. Point is he isn’t pushing her away, fighting, running, screaming. He’s just there. Perhaps he’s too tired after these 2 weeks of being free and losing his mind, perhaps he’s thinking to himself This might solve some of my problems. Maybe he’s just standing there and admiring how beautiful Wednesday is. How unafraid of him in his monster Hyde form. How still and certain about doing this. Does she even know what her doing this means? Perhaps he thinks briefly about THAT too. Perhaps he waits for her to change her mind. Perhaps he’s just a boy and he waited for 2 weeks for her to wake up, and they haven’t been standing this close for a long time so he’s simply confused about what and how and huh?! BUT THEN HIS MOTHER BREAKS THE WINDOW. Second Hyde enters the church and everything changes. The more not-hurting-as-i-watch arc for Tyler this season ends. Because hey they are teenagers, they are 16/17yo both. But here they stand about to commit to each other for a lifetime? In a church? Nightshades as the witnesses? And BOOM their MOTHERS show up and interrupt. This is PERHAPS the most tragic and real teenager life thing that happened to W and T together. Like? Hello? They were having a moment? FranHyde pushes TylerHyde away from W, he is shocked, she is shocked, everyone is shocked. Not me though because apparently Tyler and Wednesday can’t have nice things together anymore. The MOTHER is about to ATTACK Wednesday. Mind you the ANGEL who set her free. And then Morticia calmly there so stoic and breathtaking calling Fran by name reminding her they had a DEAL. About their kids of course. No matter that one kid hasn’t been in touch with his mom for the last 15 years? (I assume the timeline of the show got a little fucked bc if Ty remembers his mom’s funeral he couldn’t be 1 or 2 only. But i’m also not good with numbers so don’t worry writers i understand. The only issue i have is everyone calling T’s groomer Thornhill when her true name was Laurel Gates and it’s like every time they say Marilyn Thornhill they TAKE AWAY from what she did to Tyler, perhaps that’s just my brain. Also Weems? Later reveals Fran asked her to be at her and Donovan’s wedding but D didn’t know she’s a Hyde and that’s why Weems refused? In s1 Larissa tells Wednesday that ‘she didn’t ask how Francoise identified’ so she lied? I can accept that. She made a mistake with The Hydes and the school. But then Fran apparently unlocked her Hyde after giving birth to Tyler while having post partum depression? Now her bro said it was after she went out with a normie and their father(apparently similar in nature to The Gates Family) hit her very hard bc ugh normie. And she transformed first THEN. so she would be a HYDE during her school years as the s2 part 2 shows us? Then the doctors lied? Or Fran lied to them? Or? If Donovan SOMEHOW-don’t ask me how he could afford to build that bunker under their house bc he KNEW they needed to be close but it was dangerous.. She would be Hyde-ing out(as Hunter calls it) while Tyler was a child in their house, no? Yup. Writers. The mistakes in ages and years FINE. Those? Ugh.) NOW FranHyde makes one gesture with her hand telling him to leave and TylerHyde DOES. Here’s where i am confused. Is he doing it because his mother is alive?! Is he doing it bc HYDE LORE Hyde Females are stronger than male? so he must listen? Is he doing that because she is already his master just by nature of being related to him, and him being her son?? Did he have to like subconsciously accept that she’s ordering him and he follows? IS THIS WHEN his free will ended? W just told him she has feelings and wants to be his new master and he was like Okay? I guess? And then he goes with his mom? Because he HAS TO? WANTS TO? Watching the Hyde’s eyes he does offer one last look toward W and then just leaves. And I was so shocked by W’s little face, the disappointment, the shock, the look when Morticia tells her Fran and Tyler will leave Jericho soon? As distracted by W as I am, Morticia says that Fran gave her her word she would “control” Tyler. Don’t I love mothers who want to control Tyler? I should have known then. But it only clicked when he realized what’s up. So then? She just decided? And he had to go with it? No hypnosis? No chemicals? No drugs? Just because I AM YOUR MOTHER FOR REAL AND THAT’S WHY IT WORKS? And did it? He then was doing what she wanted but he also had lost of freedom too, and it looked more as if he just wanted to be with his mom and be loved by her? And that meant choosing between his mom who he believed his whole life was dead and now they had a second chance and a girl he has feelings for. OF COURSE HE WOULD CHOOSE HIS MOM. What other kid wouldn’t? Especially after he lost his dad! and that one scene in Willow Hill in 2x06 when he was READY to transform and fight Wednesday in Enid’s body as a werewolf he was transforming the same way he would before the shock collar on his neck would stop him when he was locked up. His mom said “Tyler, no!” and he stopped. He also started to breathe easier and look a little bit better? Healthier. So his mother did become his master. The question is how? Because he figured it out by ASKING her “So you’re my master now?” meaning he didn’t know? He didn’t realize? He didn’t feel it? Are you telling me that in s3 Wednesday doesn’t even need chemicals? She can just say she is his master and it will work? What about Capri? WHAT ABOUT EVERY OTHER MOTHER OR OLDER WOMAN who wants to save him and help him, fuck them all, he says he’s done with that and them BUT what if it isn’t how it works? I NEED TO KNOW HOW IT WORKS. i need my boy to be safe. I want to take a moment here for the end of 2x05 before everything went to shit for Ty (again!). His mom tending to his wounds? He has new clothes? A place with real bed? Probably meal soon? Safe sleep without worry that someone will find him? And adult caring about him? His mom is now alive!! and hugging him and he’s crying and after a bit hugging her back because after everything he has been through, the trauma, the PTSD, the abuse, the grooming, being naked in front of so many adults.. being touched can’t be easy. And yet he wanted his mom so badly. I cried during this. I was thinking NOW HE CAN BE HAPPY. Reunite with W later. Oh how wrong was I.. Also they were in that hidden place under the Galpin’s house? I know i’m apparently asking for a lot but a scene when they get there? When Tyler sees what has been done to THE ACTUAL HOUSE?(or maybe a scene when he freshly got out of WH and saw that already? Alone?) I don’t even care about Fran’s reaction. She mentioned Donovan like once, and only to point out something he did as an action, rather than be sentimental so yeah. But Tyler seeing what people has done to the house? I needed that scene. Tyler walking back to his room, in which he has been 2 weeks(W’s coma) and 2 or 3 months (the break vacation time when he was locked at Willow Hill) ago. FIRST TIME since he left the house to go to the crypt to finalize Thornhill/Gates plan. First time seeing his room since then. I waited 3 years for that scene. Well. 2x06 was great ep for W and Enid, and some bits were interesting for Tyler and W as well. But first, Tyler wakes up, can’t believe his mom being there and him being safe and loved is REAL. Poor boy is at the edge of a breakdown. Yes, he and his dad were lied to, and WHO KNOWS what Tyler would have said because he moves and he hears it. THE CHAIN. and everything CHANGES. no safety. His reaction? He’s triggered. He’s scared. Really scared. It sinks in in a breath that yes he has his mom back but this love is not safe and NOT unconditional and yet, it will get worse. “You don’t trust me?” He asks his mom that was dead an hour ago. His mom whom he hasn’t seen since being a child. A mom who should love him no matter what. Because SHE. HER. This is a person whom he could trust surely. Right? She doesn’t seem to trust him. Which brings all of his feelings and traumas to the surface. His groomer chained him, tortured him. The girl he liked chained and tortured him too. And then that happened at Willow Hill. Regularly. And now his mom has done the same. I will NEVER get over the hurt and pain and broken heart in his eyes when he asks “So you’re my MASTER now?” It hit him fully that this is not JUST HIS MOM this is another mother figure who also enslaved him. And he killed his last master. This is his mom. He’s trapped. In a way he wasn’t before. Because he won’t even begin to think about killing his mom? She just came back to life for him?? He has been hurt and betrayed by everyone now. And that adds up to his feelings in general but also to how he will feel about W in the future i think. He sees his mom coughing blood and all he does is worry and care about her. He’s being a kid nobody has given him a chance to be, trying to. But then he sees her changing the subject. Asking him if he wants pancakes. So he lets her know he is not a kid anymore. After what he has been through he’s older than most adults inside. And she should know that? And yet the woman who was hit ty her own father and that triggered the Hyde? SLAPS HER SON. not like he even raised his voice? Not like he was attacking her in ANY way. She had to remind him SHE was in control, in position of power. And that is WHEN everything went black for Ty in s2 part 2. When Tyler’s idealization of his mother shattered. Because damn, he’s fucked. He has his mom back but at what cost? And he hasn’t even met THE REAL cost yet, mind you. He had a father who hit him. His mother does it too. The tears on his face after she hits him? That’s a teenage boy who endures abuse from a parent and thinks this is the only way to get that parent’s love so you have to accept it as part of it all. As I said i get that his mom went through Hell and back too. But she literally has done to him what his groomer had. In like first 15 minutes together? I was like GET HER AWAY FROM HIM NOW!!! and that was not coming soon enough.. The way he’s breathing when she turns to make him pancakes. I don’t want to add more to this but only, a child who has been through abuse? You know this kind of breathing. It’s sort of like I hate this and I’m so scared but this is also my normal even if it’s not the normal for others and i could run but where would i run and perhaps i could be better so i could get more of the nice side? Literally crying at that scene. The empty bowl for the dog outside?! AGAIN WHAT HAPPENED TO THE DOG? WHERE IS ELVIS?? Tyler needs ELVIS, might have been the only creature in his life that didn’t HURT HIM!! Then we have the uncle reveal. but before that THREE SECONDS of happiness for Tyler as he smiles! and eats pancakes (still weary looking at his mom, my baby is STRESSED!), then they hear the knock and he tenses SO HARD again, notice how he’s basically trapped as he is still chained to something while eating! He will have bigger problems while he will learn more about his family soon. Gosh. I just want to point out that Isaac(uncle) telling Fran how hard she was slapped MINUTES after she slapped Tyler, and her using the SAME line he told Gates/Thornhill “I’ve been dreaming of this moment” have been EXTRA CRUEL toward Tyler who’s just standing there and watching, getting more and more scared and uneasy. His role in part 2. Poor Tyler, he’s still trying to figure out how he feels with his mom not dead who hits him and controls him and now he meets his uncle who looks like a zombie who’s younger than him? And they both look so scary walking closer to him, Fran still holding her gun. “Nice to meet you” is killing me. He wanted to be ANYWHERE but there. To top that off he LEARNS for the first time EVER(Laurel didn’t tell him shit about Hydes) that it’s “Our condition. Being a Hyde. I’ve lived longer than most.” so he find out his mom is dying AGAIN. and also that he will be dying soon as well. Wonderful. Just hit after hit. I bet he doesn’t even have a moment to think back to Wednesday telling him he was right about her feelings. His new family is already TOO MUCH. Then he learns that Judi is dead. And that his scary uncle killed her and while he and Fran laugh about it, Tyler’s eyes are SCARED. he doesn’t know what is happening and what will happen but he KNOWS it will not be good. And he has no control. Again. He simply wants his mom. But also POINT later in the season when he actually finds Judi’s dead body (we don’t know if they even met at Willow Hill if Fairburn was THE FACE of the operation. WE do KNOW that he’s probably not even aware that JUDI killed his father. because NOBODY TOLD HIM.) he looks like he has had enough of Isaac. As if he’s not OKAY with killing people, perhaps i’m reading into this too much but it wasn’t happy Tyler finding a new delicious dead body. It was more like Fuck. My uncle kills people and he leaves the body in the trunk of our car. Fuck this shit. I want out of here. Somebody get me out of here. I’m so done. I also feel like so much of later events he was just there going with the flow, beaten up and resigned. Not having any other option. The only OUT OF THAT SORT of attitude moments where with Wednesday. yes. Not to miss that AFTER he learns he will die, Tyler learns he has to GO BACK TO WILLOW HILL. Imagine the pain and the fear and the anger at THAT. Tyler’s face when hearing Isaac wants to visits an old friend at Nevermore. He knows that means MORE dead people, and nope, he doesn’t seem happy about it. Any of it. Sitting in that car, in the backseat, under Nevermore. So close. So tensed. Is he thinking about Wednesday? About her offer to be his master? It would be so much sassy/ cynical Tyler to wonder if THAT has been better option for him than the deep shit he is now. “What is that?” he asks Issac and his mom. Why? BECAUSE as many people pointed out Tyler has been kept in the dark by his mother and uncle about their plans. They never told him anything until they had to. So not only he had no control but also genuinely no freaking clue what is happening, where will he be going doing etc. That’s not the safety he needs to HEAL if that’s not clear. He didn’t know about the hand. Isaac wore a glove i think. Didn’t know his uncle is a DaVinci and has telekinesis. Didn’t know they wanted revenge specifically at the Addams family and for what exactly. Didn’t know it would remove Pugsley’s powers completely. He didn’t know so he also couldn’t make any choices or decisions of his own, had no feelings about plans he had no idea about. And when he learned he just had to go with it. It’s not as if HE HAD A CHOICE. Because apparently this is not something that Tyler Galpin ever has in his tragic life and circumstances. He was learning all the facts along with the audience. He simply thought they are on a mission to save his mom. Even if his mother (after the failure at Willow Hill i believe, nope creators confirmed it was her intention all along, only after WHill failure she tried to force Isaac to do what She wanted) decided that it’s too late for her and made her brother promise they would “SAVE” Tyler instead. He had no saying in that either. Shocker. Now that I think of it the last time HE decided something for himself was when he went after Wednesday, when he got the flowers, the note, when he stood in his Hyde form in front of her, not moving while she talked about becoming his new master. He was so not informed about his two family members’ actions. He thought he had to choose his mom over everything and everyone else(looking at you W) because he couldn’t simply lose his mom AGAIN. I would say that THAT was the decision he was telling himself that he was making. But was he making it? Or was it forced on him? AGAIN? He only killed his master and the guy who was haunting down the WH patients on the run. He was visibly not happy and comfortable while finding out that his creepy uncle’s kill count might be getting higher than his own under Thornhill/Gates’ influence and without combined. Interesting how he kills and likes it SO MUCH.. when his masters do, right? IMPORTANT TO NOTE that 2x06 when E and W are in each other’s bodies is THE FIRST TIME when Tyler and Wednesday touch since he pulled her closer and then was choking her in 1x08 (not counting him throwing her out of the window bc again we didn’t see it and we don’t even know how MUCH touching was involved. Not counting when she was in a coma bc sure he must have been visiting often but we never saw it. 2x08 is the FIRST time they are both touching each other while W is in her own body and they are aware that they touch one another 100%. because in 2x06 Wednesday does chokes him, but she’s in the werewolf form and only after Enid in W’s body calls her name confused Tyler figures out why the wolf is SO BLACK and not so pink-ish the way he recalled from last time. Tyler’s face says it all. But also he was touching the girl he thought was Wednesday in 2x06 in WHill and W in Enid’s body was touching him, so i will write about it too. Because even if they weren’t, not really it was the first time they thought THEY ARE touching one another. Well W in E’s body actually was. But before that when Tyler checks outside the car and then finds Judi’s body and is so not happy with the view. Does he senses Agnes too? Because later he DOES at Willow Hill. Perhaps now he doesn’t because he’s so confused and angry about not knowing shit? He knows something is up. Or perhaps he is well aware that Agnes can go invisible, he must have spotted her at the hospital when they were both stalking W, so he must have seen her disappear? Perhaps he KNOWS, and letting her go with them IN THAT CAR is his first a little bit going rouge decision he can allow this season with the control he is under? He knows Agnes will get Wednesday and then W will show up? Yes, he does want to save his mom at WHill, but maybe he also wants help for himself? We might never know. The way he jolts visibly when he sees the dead body is very telling though. This boy doesn’t enjoy murder or dead people as much as he claimed to W that he does, not when he has no clue what the heck is going on. It’s all trauma and triggering for him. the SEATBELTS scene is ridiculous. He was an unhinged monster saying crazy things from his cell to W few eps(and days) before and now he’s a child whom his mother is reminding about seatbelts. He has no agency, no will of his own. He’s trapped. The alert look on Tyler’s face when he hear his uncle tell his mom “I can finally free you from this horrible curse.” he’s watching him for a beat and then he goes, “You think being a Hyde is a curse? It’s the most free I’ve ever felt.” this is such an important line because it’s crazy thing to say for someone who has been unlocked by being locked up and grooming abuse torture chemicals drags and being chained to the wall, having no free will of his own, and just sharing the agenda of someone else. And then after FINALLY being strong enough on his own to kill that someone? He started losing his mind, and health. And yet he was free. He had the power of choice. He had SOMETHING. i think it’s truly powerful how he went through everything he has and yet he decided that being the monster is his strength and power, that he won’t allow THAT to also be part of his tragedy and pain. That hell yes, he might be awful sometimes, but that’s his power and it’s better than nothing. It’s so important for ANY victim of ANY abuse. The fact he killed his groomer and went on to decide that there is SOMETHING that makes him strong after all of that? Even if the monster comes up from all the pain and hurt and rage and anger? That says a lot. First, healing arc is actually POSSIBLE. second, Tyler might still have some faith in himself and in the fact that he DESRVES better, that he is WORTH more. Which is also vital. Not that his uncle or mom took that into consideration later. He hears Agnes and he senses her. He KNOWS her. That’s W’s ex stalker obsessive bf ofc he knows her friends, even the new ones he wasn’t around for to meet. “Make yourself at home. We can deal with that Nevermore brat later” to his uncle is not really him meaning that or wanting to get closer to his creepy uncle, and while W in Enid’s body watches him with big eyes it’s CLEAR that he is acting out, as he was in the past, when his trauma and horrible life has been too much. As any other teenager. This is his acting out way now. He can leave Agnes there and say that. And that is a CHOICE he can make on his own, and that is why he makes it. Doesn’t have to mean it. It’s about seeing if he CAN do it, and say it. “Look who showed up” he says when he sees W in Enid’s body there, oh boy that’s your girl!! I’m low key disappointed he didn’t sense THAT. “Leave her alone” W in E’s body kicked him SO HARD. And then she stared at him, and then she was turning into a werewolf? W caring about Tyler and Enid both which triggers transformation OFC. No visible touching there, just kicking and pushing i guess. BUT THEN IT GETS INTERESTING. and people caught that. So W in E’s body is wolfing out. What does Tyler do? He grabs Enid in Wednesday’s body by the shoulders and throws her away from who he thinks is wolfing out Enid and then shuts the door. (As if trying to get W away? Protect her?) Notice how he doesn’t bother with Agnes at all. He spots the machine going crazy, and the machine was supposed to help his mom? He tries to fix it. The look back at who he thinks is W on the floor even if it’s Enid. The way he can’t help himself but go right to her-BOOM Wednesday in E’s body as a BLACK!! werewolf leaves the room, Ty tries to transform, his mom shouts at him No, he’s confused but immediately stops. Then W in her werewolf form in choking him (mind you she transformed for the first time ever, she definitely might have troubles with what she is doing, how hard, and why etc). E calls out W by name and confused Tyler finally grasps why the werewolf is all black. LIKE SURE THAT IS MY GIRL. he should have known just by the outfit he saw on Wednesday but okay he’s going through it his family members are a lot, i get it. As far as touching goes i love how W throws him away the same way he thought he was throwing her(even if it was Enid). The next time in 2x07 when we see Tyler his uncle asks him “Leaving?” noticing Ty packing stuff into a travel bag. Can Tyler leave? soon enough he learns that NOPE he and THEY are not leaving. “If you won’t give me permission to kill Wednesday, then we need to get the hell out of Jericho.” crazy line crazyy. THIS BOY. He’s so obsessed with her. He didn’t want to kill her that much one day ago. He saw her again and his bloodlust is suddenly up? How interesting. And also when his mom refuses to tell him the plan and says to leave it all to Isaac, Tyler is putting up a fight, correctly pointing out how his uncle has been “crashing it so far” and how “There’s no next time! Your machine was destroyed! It doesn’t take a genius to see that you failed!” he’s angry because he’s still there. He’s angry because his mom wasn’t saved. He’s angry because he can’t leave and do what he wants. Go to Wednesday. And he angry because he has just seen her and she was choking him and not in her body? Is he also angry because he doesn’t know what THAT was about? The creepy uncle saying threats right into his face is so awful. “One of us is already dead.” i love that NO MATTER HOW TRAUMATIZED or TRAPPED this boy is he will be SASSY as fuck. Did he mean his zombie uncle? His dying mother who is also his master? Perhaps himself in the future? His numb shallow version today when he has to stay with them? No matter, the line was GOLDEN. also a moment for “HEY! WE NEED A WET! Please, it’s urgent! It’s an emergency, a car hit my dog-” (his dog? Tyler do you think about Elvis too?”) “-I can’t move him by myself, Please!” the panic in his voice, Tyler Galpin the actor that you are, the skills, the sincerity, reminded me of deceptively cunning and convincing s1 Tyler. And then Isaac his the guy and Tyler had to pull the body inside and then his uncle wasted precious time of Ty’s mom to eat the dude’s brain and my joy for Tyler and his amazing con-man skills was gone. “Are you saying this is my fault? I’m killing her?” From Tyler to his uncle KILLED ME. Why would he assume that? Well, because of his trauma, because he KNOWS he has hurt people he loves before. Because as any other kid who has been abused he believes it’s all his fault. The way he didn’t even hesitate to roll up his sleeve and gave away his blood for his mom even though it was his uncle so no direct order(?), no command, he technically could say no, right? Yeah no. That’s his mother. And then he’s out for HOURS. How much blood they took? His mom looks as if she’s feeling GREAT. He hears the plan now, save his mom? That’s a lie. Make the Addams family pay for their sins? What sins? Pay how? We don’t see him asking. He knows there’s no point. Next we learn Tyler went 20miles north as the Hyde to leave Pugsley’s costume to made an anonymous tip to the police to ofc deceive the cops. But he was THERE 20 miles north, ON HIS OWN, ANOTHER SCENE THAT I WOULD LOVE TO SEE. He was told to do that and come back I’m sure BUT was he wondering about not coming back? About how could he NOT come back? Uncle Isaac calling W Tyler’s “Old flame”? FULL STOP. he wasn’t there for that? And it’s not like Tyler and his mother had ANY time before the crazy uncle showed up to actually TALK, and the tension between Tyler and them? I doubt he was just talking about Wednesday freely like with Fairburn, unless, of course he is so down bad that he was telling his uncle and mom how clever she is and how “formidable” i believe is a word Isaac told W later that Tyler used to talk about her? Okay Tyler, your crush is showing. He couldn’t leave or make any choices but he could talk about how not to be underestimated W is. “Wednesday would know that she’s being played.” no doubt in him about it. He knows her. Notice Pugsley there inches away from the sick Galpin-Night fam (why is Fran touching P like that?) hearing the “Old flame” comment and also Tyler speaking about how smart his sis is. Perfect. Isaac tells Tyler “An Addams would never sacrifice one of their own” (sidenote funny after W literally told Morticia that she wants to sacrifice her brother) but the way Tyler looks at his uncle and mom, is he wondering IF his family is like that, how much worse his family is? And then he just stares at Pugsley which i missed last two times i watched the show. His eyes go to Isaac’s when his uncle looks at him, but otherwise he’s looking at Wednesday’s brother while his uncle tells him about how great the Addams are as a family. OKAAY. I’m also happy Isaac went to Eugene on his own because if he sent Tyler, Ty would have to face the boy he almost killed, whom he put in a coma, about whom he knew how much he matters to Wednesday. And E still has nightmares about his meeting with a Hyde. So happy it was not the case. Now moving on to the most interesting W/T scenes of 2x08 the finale of s2. first of course, the Thing/missing hand reveal scene. The way W sets the shot prepared and leaves Thing alone to do the job not aware that THIS is what Isaac wanted. While Tyler is probably somewhere behind Wednesday watching her do it all, ready to catch Thing as he was ordered, wondering why NOW W is so predictable. “Tyler warned me you were formidable” line from uncle Isaac is so ironic considering how he’s about to get his missing piece back and bury W alive soon. Tyler catching Thing into a box and then watching the BIG reveal makes me laugh. Because does he know by now? Or is he finding out along with W and Pugsley that The Hand who he was fighting with a baseball bat so long ago and whom he called W’s pet and who offered him middle finger is A PART OF HIS UNCLE? The way Wednesday’s eyes stay on Thing in the box while Tyler moves besides her and gives the box to his maniac uncle WHILE Isaac says “Except he’s never been yours” is it my brain because it’s so late or is the symbolism going CRAZY? Tyler opens the box, Isaac has the hand-Thing, W charges forward and Tyler grabs her to keep her away. HERE they are touching each other fully aware, being in their own bodies, with company sure, but Tyler could hold her neck tighter, and I didn’t miss the hesitation the quick look between W and Isaac. And the way she’s touching Tyler’s hand trying to take it away and get to Thing? She put down like 4 or 5 boys in s1, I get that he’s a Hyde but why isn’t she trying harder is it because he’s not? Or is she truly fascinated by Thing connecting with the rest of his body? Tyler isn’t even choking her, really, just holding. The scars on W’s neck we see later(since they can’t be from telekinesis Isaac was choking her with in the tower) must be from the branches tangling around her neck and taking her down when she was being buried alive. She stops pulling at Tyler’s hand and just watches, and the way he lets her go as soon and his uncle is “complete”. The way Tyler grabs Pugsley and follows Wednesday where his uncle in sending her. Truly can’t stop following her, huh? Tyler’s big eyes, the panic within. The way Wednesday could be looking at Isaac who is burying her and the way she doesn’t know if she will get out ever, she could be looking at her younger brother, but no. Her eyes are locked on Tyler’s and stay there. And he is staring at her. No blinking at all. Everyone is talking about that scene BUT HOW INSANE IS BEING BURIED ALIVE or watching “Your old flame” if you will being buried alive while you were told to probably do what your uncle tells you to do and you can do nothing and you KEEP THE EYE CONTACT THE WHOLE TIME. insane. The jaw’s clench. The look in Tyler’s eyes the deeper she is. His entire face. That is not a face of someone who is happy that the girl he wanted to kill or be dead is actually BEING KILLED. That is a face of someone who is truly DYING inside, but can’t do much about it. Watching this HURTS because you can see how conflicted he is and how powerless and how trapped, and how he is at the edge of breaking. (Hunter mentioned humanity and regret under the surface. Hell yeah!) Who knows how. His trembling lips? The way his lips only tremble when Wednesday seems to be leaving him? The LOOK he gave his Uncle Isaac. If ONLY a gaze could kill. Also the last quick stare at the fresh grave? FREE HIM so he could dig her out!! Now, some say that he AGAIN sensed Agnes because he was looking different way than Isaac and Pugsley. I HOPE THAT’S TRUE (but we can only theorize, like with 1x08 when we were all like HE’S COMING BACK TO THE CRYPT ON HIS OWN TO SEE IF WEDNESDAY IS TRULY DEAD AS THORNHILL/GATES TOLD HIM!) and he knew W would be saved, because otherwise he walked out of there feeling more hurt, trapped, and powerless than ever, and i don’t want that tragedy and guilt on him. Also the next time he sees her above him with an axe he is not surprised at all. He was certain THAT won’t kill her. So sure, he knew about Agnes. He left her to die!? Shut up it was a choice between his mother and W, and i doubt he was able to make a different choice. Still, he didn’t do anything. He couldn’t, I gather. He was forced to watch her being buried alive and he didn’t enjoy it one bit. Happy to report that had to make him realize that he doesn’t want to kill her at all. And hopefully, especially after their next scene he won’t be trying or EVER forced to try to do so again. The way Tyler watches his insane family with this tired but so done with everything face tells you all you have to know. He has had enough and now just wants it to end. He’s not happy with any of this shit. The way he argues and is so done with the uncle but seeing how excited his mom is he nearly smiles, my poor boy. He has no idea. So many layers to Pugsley/Tyler scene, P is fighting him but also trying to play with him and Tyler is not having any of it, even though he keeps looking back at his mother as if having doubts about everything that is happening. Perhaps he senses that something bad is coming his way? And now the final betrayal, can’t even hate Isaac because his broken face when he does what his sisters wants even if that means he won’t get to save her is so freaking sad. BUT TYLER? He’s trapped, confused, and angry and powerless, and not being asked what HE wants. Again. “Wait, What are you doing!? Mom, we’re here to save you” the tears when his heart breaks at his mom’s words when he realizes. “No, no, you have no right to take my power away from me! Don’t do this. Please. MOM!” The desperation, the fear, the panic, the pleading, the anger. The way being a Hyde is the only source of power or control he now has. And then he’s just screaming out of pain. Pleading with his mom. The way he MUST KNOW Wednesday comes to him first because the machine is still going so she comes to him before she comes to her brother, and yet that doesn’t matter for Tyler. He has had enough. Has been betrayed enough. He doesn’t want to live without the only source of power he had. He has given up. He sees the girl he tried to kill, the girl he kissed, the girl he probably still loves, and decided that he would rather have HER end this than let his family do this to him. THIS IS HIS CHOICE That he makes. His way of fighting his family, his fate in the moment. He wants Wednesday to help him/save him by ending his life. THE SCENE that Jenna Ortega picked from s2 to freeze in time forever, mind you. I was afraid that “Kill me” from him to her might appear in s2 with all his pain BUT WHEN I TELL YOU when he said that? It broke me. When he closed his eyes and waited to die? Giving up completely? It broke me. And it did broke her too. For a split second you see her little almost child-like face Jenna did also when Thing was dying(she loves the Night boys someone joked). The way her body moves as she dropped the axe a little. And then she surprised herself. And him. The confusion on his face when he asked “Why?” The soft way she tells him, “I missed.” The way they both waste some seconds with just staring at each other while Pugsley still needs saving in the background and Isaac is still close. The way Tyler KNOWS she doesn’t miss. The way she might have been the only one to keep showing up and coming back (and through) for him. The way THAT might have given him so strength and fight and hope because then he transforms and attacks his uncle so damn fast that his mom cannot even react. Barely one stare after W that goes to her bro and he’s going for his uncle, yes. The way he throws him tough. Again with throwing, why not rip him apart? “It’s okay, it’s your mommy” Fran sure chose a bad line to try to calm him down after betraying him. It’s all triggering the Thornhill/Gates of it all. NO DOUBT. And he’s MAD. He throws her away too. BUT she turns as well and she isn’t so nicely-playing. She pushes her son out of the window? And they fly down the buildings of Nevermore? The land in front of Wednesday and Enid’s window and she bites him? She keep attacking him? And he’s on the Wednesday’s side of the window? The symbolism is beyond i have nothing more to add. Tyler is either losing on purpose because he doesn’t want to fight his mom (or can’t as she’s his master idk) or he isn’t trying because he won’t fight his mom. He even tries to get away from her and escape but She is not having it. The machine goes BOOM. and nobody caused it at THAT moment but it affects everyone in the tower and Wednesday DID hit it with an axe a minute before. Two Hydes go down flying and Tyler is more lucky just by accident. He reaches a hand out to his mom and she doesn’t even try, she lets go, kills herself. And he has to watch it all and then her dying at the bottom. You bet he will blame himself. Will it help if W tells him one day SHE hit the machine that caused two Hydes to fall? Nope. He will take this grief and blame on himself because by now torturing himself is all he know how to do. The way some people laugh at the CGI Hydes but i’m here sobbing at TylerHyde’s lil face when she dies. STOP. Hunter saying Tyler feels as if he killed his mother now, that to him he HAD, that after EVERYTHING Ty has been through, all he did was reaching out a hand to help her, but she let go because she failed at being a good mother, so he had to watch her die, fall down, all the way down. He was forced to watch his mother kill herself, commit suicide, becoming DEAD again. Losing her TWICE in his life. the way he screamed after in his Hyde form? And of course he would blame himself for it, even though it wasn’t his fault. Of course he will feel guilty. He knows guilt and shame and pain more than joy by this point. He has lost everything. And FINALLY Tyler in 1x01 that said “At least one of us will get out of this hellhole town” finally got it in 2x08, he finally IS leaving town. Same way as W is, perhaps going in the same direction as Capri wants to help Enid too. (sidenote that Sept 25 2025 hasn’t happened yet so the graves of T’s parents, the date Donovan was killed, they set that in the future! And if Fran died in 2010, that was YES 15 years ago. So if T is 16/17 now, he must have been 1 or 2 yeah that’s too young. No to math.) Great let them all be friends and heal. He got that 1x01 wish BUT AT WHAT COST?? he goes with Capri because he has NOTHING left. Nobody. His hopes are dead, he could die anytime soon. His apathy and the sense that he’s doomed? Look at his family. He is again losing his mind, will start dying soon, has no plan, is so damn broken, and all he wants is someone who would care for him. He is so done it breaks your heart. “Whoever you are, just walk away.” & “Yeah, I’m done with mothers and masters.” & “What’s in it for you? You’re a werewolf.” the way he ASKS, that’s good!. She tells him about a pack? A community? Also he looked so bothered watching Isaac kill people of Jericho, and the Addams, Wednesday. Tyler just wants to take himself away to not cause more harm. Also he’s so done, as Hunter pointed out that cemetery is like in the center of Jericho, HE IS NOT EVEN HIDING ANYMORE. Hopefully he won’t be part of a cult in s3 because i won’t be able to take that. Let him be happy. And his feelings for Wednesday? I will go as far as to say that the more insane he will go the more insane it will be but now? He knows he caused her harm and he has had enough of people he cared about dying. So he will be keeping his distance, not wanting to break her even more. But that’s just my final thoughts. I’m here for the REAL Tyler in next 2(?) years and his healing arc. Someone said that Part 1 of s2 was about how Tyler was still soft for Wednesday but she acted like she wasn’t, and part 2 of s2 was about how Wednesday is still soft for Tyler and how he acted like he isn’t. And THAT is so true. And the only member of all the 4 members of Tyler’s family we heard about that haven’t been abusive or not good is THING? s3.. THING tries to get Tyler to the Addams so they would get him in the family as well PLEASE. Also NEW Nonbinary therapist for Tyler so they wouldn’t trigger any mommy/daddy issues for our boy. In general free Tyler from older women. And all adults who want to “save him” or “free him” at this point i would only trust sincere intentions from maybe.. Fester Addams, he doesn’t have that greed/ predatory/creepy vibe about him. That one post that went ‘Can you imagine having an (allegedly) dead mom and an emotionally unavailable dad who’s been afraid of you your whole life, and then some random woman grooms you and unlocks the monster inside of you, and then your crush tortures you and gets you locked up in an asylum. And then she visits you to gloat about the murder of your dad and insults you. And then she releases everyone inside the asylum which includes your groomer, your mom and your uncle. And then your mom finds you but she turns out to be self centered and abusive and secretly plans to get rid of your powers with the help of your uncle. And then after your crush helps you escape, your mom kills herself in front of you. Can you imagine living as Tyler Galpin? He’s like 17 by the way.’ THAT POST literally caused me to cry. All of that combined? FUCK. Also the lyrics of Lady Gaga The Dead Dance song for the show, that started as a song about break up worth mentioning are, “You’ve created a creature of the night/ Now I’m haunting your air, your soul, your eyes/ This goodbye is no surprise/ This goodbye won’t make me cry.” And now we are going to wait ANOTHER 2 years for more answers about Tyler, the real Tyler and his REAL feelings.
