Wakka really is trying his best. He's keeping the score equal and probably accepting the pummelling he's getting for the sake of Yuna. He would throw his last game for her, entirely willingly - but he's still trying to buy some time for her other guardians. I wonder why the ref isn't calling the foul? It's a weird little thing to put in here, as though alluding to some kind of corruption... Do you think the ref was paid off by the Al Bhed? Even then, it's weird to think that the kidnappers actually care about the blitzball game at all, so, hmm. Not sure on this one at all!

Since this is Spira’s equivalent to the Super Bowl, small wonder Wakka’s wound up tighter than knotted up necklace! And his newest recruit is planning to saunter around Luca with his baby sister/summoner!

Aye! Tidus is Wakka's hope here... and he's pissing off, even though this is Wakka's last chance to shine, you know? Pretty Intense.

Tidus actually says "hmph" after Seymour's speech. He's not at all happy with it. Actually, if you remember a little later, when Tidus mentions that he never liked Seymour - this is why. Seymour, pretending to live to fulfil his father's legacy, really irritates Tidus. Father-worship just does not go down well with him at all.

Little does he know,Tidus hating on his dad is probably one of the few things Seymour and him could actually bond over. But c'est la vie. 

But, notice Seymour here. He's actually shrugging. Don't you think that's a little inelegant for a maester to do in front of a crowd bowing for him? Either he's expressing that he doesn't care whether Tidus bows or not, or he knows that these people don't really care for him at all.  These are the same people who, twenty years ago, would have been baying for his blood. The mindless worship means nothing to him, of course he's going to just shrug it off. 

Seymour's body language is important to understanding his character, so sorry if this seems like blatant overanalysis ahaha.

I'm surprised Lulu is now completely okay and accepting with the idea of Tidus being a Guardian. I suppose she has evaluated and realized that he's an okay guy, and besides, Yuna seems to like him. Even more so, she realizes that if they keep him tagging along, he's just going to cause trouble if he's a not a guardian. 

Still, I'm a little surprised she's not a little more rueful that Yuna seems to want to keep him around because he's Jecht's son. Doesn't that just whiff of filling a void that can't be filled? But... whatever makes her happy, and isn't too damaging to the pilgrimage, I suppose.

I wonder, why IS the chamber of the fayth so sacred? It's common knowledge that the Fayth are kind of unsents, so why would Yevon be so against guardians entering the chamber? My guess is it breaks the concentration of the summoner, rather than anything earthshatteringly evil.
