🌸 Saturday Mornings at the Farmers’ Market 🌸

Weekend farmers’ markets are my happy place.

I love wandering through the stalls, discovering fresh seasonal produce, browsing jars of homemade jams, and finding unique handmade treasures from local makers. There’s something special about taking your time, chatting with friendly stallholders, and supporting small businesses.

I always leave with more than I planned to buy, but that’s part of the fun. Fresh fruit, a jar of jam, and a little something handmade always seem to find their way into my basket.

Slow mornings, good coffee, and a trip to the markets are one of my favourite weekend traditions.

I love wandering through the stalls, discovering fresh seasonal produce, browsing jars of homemade jams, and finding unique handmade treasures from local makers. There’s something special about taking your time, chatting with friendly stallholders, and supporting small businesses.

Today, I noticed a small stall with freshly cut peonies.

“Oh, these are beautiful,” I said, stopping to take a closer look.

The stallholder smiled. “They’ve just been picked this morning.”

“They’re so fresh,” I replied. “I think I might have to take some home.”

“I think they’d look lovely in a vase on your table.”

I smiled. “That’s exactly what I was thinking.”

Of course, I rarely leave the markets with exactly what I planned to buy. Fresh fruit, a jar of jam, and a little something handmade always seem to find their way into my basket.

And honestly, that’s part of the fun. Slow mornings, good coffee, and a wander through the markets have become one of my favourite weekend traditions.

Feeling chuffed this week after meeting a young Spaniard holidaying from Barcelona. It seems he has been trying to track us down on recommendations from cooks in Barcelona and Valencia. It seems we did make an impression in Europe for our deep commitment to flavour and traditional cooking. Grateful for these experiences, those we have met along the way and the continuous food journey that presents more opportunities and knowledge.
