hihi i just wanted to say i love how you made james punjabi in hey sharpshooter🥹 as a punjabi girlie i am living for the representation even tho its a minute part of the story i feel like i never see that so appreciate you for including it!! 🫶🏽🫶🏽
HI waaaaah this is the best ask ever omg 😭😭 like this fr might make me a bit weepy i’m so glad you resonated w that piece of the story bc it was actually so so so important to me!!
lore drop!! one of my best friends in 4th grade was punjabi & i only knew her for a year but i will always remember how lovely and warm and welcoming her house was. her grandmother lived with them and stayed home to take care of the house while her parents worked and whenever i’d come over after school there was always some sort of delicious homemade treat out in the kitchen, & she’d make us all these fun herbal teas with mint & ginger from their little garden in the backyard. her house was the coziest, friendliest & most comfortable place 8-year-old me had ever stepped foot in & even tho i wasn’t able to keep in touch with her when i moved at the end of the school year, i’ll never forget how kind & welcoming her family was & how excited her grandmother was to have other kids over after school. she made us all feel so special & treasured & made sure to hug us before we left & that meant a lot to me as a kid coming from a very non-affectionate & passive aggressive household where i always had to walk on eggshells to avoid conflict with adults 😭
all that to say it made perfect sense to me that my 4th grade friend’s family would be the inspo for the potters, bc they made me feel loved & wanted the same way james & his family made sirius feel loved & wanted in the fic. it’s all very sappy & nostalgic & i’m happy you found a sense of representation in it 💕💕
