Thought it is a great time for an update, especially post holidays.
I told my personal trainer, Mo, that my goal was to be under 200 by my birthday on January 21. That was about December 21, which gave me a month, and about 8 lbs. to drop. Jump ahead two weeks, and I'm bouncing between 202-204 (depending on if I'm weighing in morning or night). That means that I am totally on track, and will beat my goal, which only inspires me more.
I'm doing about 45 minutes of cardio a day (woodway treadmill & precor elliptical) plus about 10-15 minutes of strength training.
I hate the treadmill, as my shin strength is very weak. I'm working on building it up.
I love the elliptical - it's easy. Well, not easy, as I'm doing a warm-up, then pushing myself from a 6-7 intensity for 90 seconds to a 8-9 intensity for 60 seconds, then back to 6-7 intensity for 90 seconds, and back to 8-9...you get the picture. But I like it, it's almost like a fun game.
Strength training - it's mostly difficult for me. I don't hate it, but I'm not in love with it either.
Consider that I haven't really done anything exercise/gym like since freshman year of high school, it's not horrible overall.
Food has gotten better too. I am keeping some fruit around, and really am eating what I want. I just don't eat all the time, and I focus on smaller portions. I don't feel like I'm missing anything.
I am running out of one of my favorite cooking ingredients - Marion-Kay Chicken Plus seasoning (select it on the drop down). It's like what you get at Claudia Sanders' but I just sprinkle it directly on the chicken and pan grill it. Tasty and healthy.
I'm also getting into pants that were a bit of a challenge before. I'm not hopeful that I'm going to have to drop a pant size soon. I'm not focusing on a target date, but giving it a couple months. I think that's when my next post will be. Look for it!
