Weird Opinion: Mordred’s got daddy issues when it comes to Merlin.
Here me out: When we first meet Mordred, he’s just lost whatever father-figure he had (whether it was his actual father or his master). He’s completely alone and in danger. Enter Merlin: this hero among men that he’s heard about in legends; an amazing, powerful, god-like person. He helps Mordred; protects him. It’s like your favorite superhero coming to your rescue.
Mordred is angry when Merlin betrays him the next time they meet, and it’s made worse because it is always a horrible feeling as a child to realize that your hero (parent) isn’t perfect. Once he becomes an adult and has grown up though, he realizes that no one is perfect, and he views Merlin’s actions to have been a mistake; one that he’s willing to forgive, because this is Emrys. Of course he’s the good guy.
He wants Merlin as his mentor; someone to look up to and learn from and eventually stand & fight side-by-side with. But Merlin rejects him and makes his distrust of Mordred clear at every turn. So Mordred starts looking up to Arthur, because he is starved for attention and acceptance, and Arthur gives him that; he takes Mordred under his wing and is proud of him.
But it isn’t enough, because Arthur isn’t Merlin. In episode 5x09, Mordred tells Merlin, “One day, I shall prove my loyalty to you and to the king.” The order of that sentence is not a coincidence. He wants to prove himself to Merlin, and Arthur is just a second thought. But Merlin never gives him the chance.
Mordred is constantly trying to remind Merlin that they are similar; that they share the bond of magic. After all, they are the only two people in Camelot who know what keeping that secret feels like, and it’s something that should connect them. He wants someone to know and accept him for who he truly is, and Merlin is the one person who should understand Mordred and be on his side, yet Merlin is indifferent to him.
Mordred even says how much it hurts that Merlin always assumes the worst in him. He feels like he will never be good enough for Merlin, and he doesn’t understand why. And that’s why, in the end, it isn’t Arthur’s betrayal that finally drives Mordred over the edge; it is Merlin’s.
And... my own personal headcanon (though there’s no actual support for this in the show, so please feel free to ignore it) is that in between episodes 1x08 and 2x11, Mordred was hoping that Merlin & Morgana would come back for him and take care of him as a family, which is why he was so happy to see Morgana in episode 2x03.
Hello everybody, so umm....
Is It weird that I wanna ship Timothy n̶o̶t̶ ̶W̶i̶l̶l̶o̶u̶g̶h̶b̶y̶ ̶c̶a̶u̶s̶e̶ ̶h̶i̶s̶ ̶r̶e̶a̶l̶ ̶p̶a̶r̶e̶n̶t̶s̶ ̶w̶e̶r̶e̶ ̶a̶s̶s̶ Melanoff with Wednesday Addams (The 2019 version, not the previous ones)?
Like, both of them are from dark-comedic animated movies and both live/lived in a somewhat old-timey traditional family, and both are used to swords axes and weapons.... And that both have a “weird” family. Is that okay? or did I became high on gamergirl bathwater and Sausage Party.
Look, forget turning someone into an animal or stone or taking their voice or slowly killing them or stuff like that, if I ever had to curse someone, I’d just make it so they have to start every conversation they enter into with “Hey there, pal,” and make them sound shady as heck.
Making them permanently smell like fish is also on the table.
weird opinion
kj apa and taeyong(nct) kinda look like each other
Flowers
Someone: Flowers makes people happy!
Me: WHY would you pick flowers to give it to someone for it to DIE. DIE! If it had stayed in the ground it would have lived a happy life! and it would give me the air i need to LIVE. I would rather you didn’t give me the flower! Let it live, SO I CAN LIVE
Many male birds flirt by building nice nests and singing and dancing for their prospective mates, and honestly, I feel like they’ve got the right idea there.
You know, people have been saying that Scorpius and Rose were meant to be the romance of TCC, and Scorpius and Albus a bromance, but I beg to differ. To me, if Rose actually straightens up and flies right and actually becomes friendly with Scorpius -- as hinted at the end of TCC --- I see it more like this: Scorose = The Bromance Scorbus = The Romance
