Hi hello! This may be kind of a weird question and you've probs already answered it at some point but what gave you the inspiration to start weird sisters? It's so fun and I love it so far but I was wondering where the idea came from and what you rly like about it!
My inspiration came mainly out of my love of Shakespeare and urban magic and my desire to combine the two somehow. It turned into a wild subversion of shakespearean tragedy tropes and the empowerment of queer and female characters
....is what i’m saying now, but when I started working on it I was mostly thinking of the witches from Macbeth being called “weird sisters” in the modern era, even though the early modern english was actually “weyward sisters,” weyward being old english for fate, they were literally the 3 fates and thinking “haha it would be funny if they were actually sisters.... it would be even FUNNIER if they were sorority sisters” and thus a shenanigans was born
i think my favorite part about it is that it’s really easy for me to work on. it can get silly, it can get serious, but it’s a very low-stress project for me to work on and it makes me happy. i think something else i like about it is that despite how self-indulgent it is, it makes other people happy too!
