I never see anyone talking about the fact that Stan knew what he was doing could cause the end of the world, and that he was 100% prepared to live with those consequences. I mean, all those comments about the apocalypse, the canned meat... Nothing else was going to cause the end of the world. Just him and the thing in his basement. Whenever he said something like, “If it makes you feel any better, the world is ending soon,” or “you’re stocking up on gold, right?” he wasn’t talking about some abstract magical thing that was coming to kill everyone. He was talking about himself.
