This is the infamous Duke of Wellington Statue, located in the Royal Exchange Square, Glasgow. The ‘myth’ said that there was drunk guy capped the statue with a traffic cone. Afterwards it becomes a traditional practice, as whenever the cone is removed, it will eventually placed again by someone. Since it was claimed to represent local humour, there are campaign to “keep the cone” and petition to defend the cone. On the other hand, the government of Glasgow need to spend £10.000 a year to remove the cones. The @lonelyplanet guide include this monument in its list of the “top 10 most bizzare monuments on Earth” in 2011. 😂 - (28/09/2017) #wellingtonstatue #statueofwellington #trafficcone #glasgow #localhumour #royalexchangesquare #uk #greatbritain #arthurwellesley #lonelyplanet #throwback #tbt #throwbackthursday #latepost #statue #europe #eurotrip #ongooglemaps (at Duke of Wellington Statue)
