She was a Queen Regnant, actually. In the last few days of her life, Henry legally divorced her. She was still queen because of the way she was crowned.

Anne Boleyn was never Queen Regnant as she never co-ruled with Henry and did not have rights as a Queen Regnant like her daughter or Mary I, she was crowned Queen Consort and given rights of a Queen Consort. I daresay if she was Queen Regnant she would of had more agency and her downfall may have gone down differently. 

Her coronation had a  few things that differed from other consort coronations:

She was crowned with St Edward’s Crown which was reserved for King Regnant’s and was a Holy Relic. Some saw this was to differentiate her from Katherine. Some historians think this was to imply she was carrying a future King Regnant of England as she was visibly pregnant at the time and it was presumed Elizabeth was male. It could also be seen as a romantic gesture from her husband where nothing was too good for her in his eyes.

She had the first coronation under Henry’s new faith.

She was the last Queen Consort to be crowned independently from her husband. 

Anne was still Queen in her last days because she was acknowledged and crowned with St Edward’s Crown - a relic at the time - and anointed with Holy Oils. 

The only other three titles she could hypothetically have were Queen Regent, Queen Dowager and Queen Mother. She would have been appointed Queen Regent when Henry went overseas and appointed her as ruler in his stead (like Katherine of Aragon or Catherine Parr were) or to rule in the name of their child when Henry died until they reached maturity if they were not of age to rule (like Marie De’Guise in Scotland or Catherine De’Medici in France). The other is Queen Dowager (like Catherine Parr) when Henry died or Queen Mother if she was the mother of the ruling monarch (like Catherine De’Valois or Isabella of France in the 1300′s). 

Queen Regnant was only used on Queens that ruled in their own right or co-ruled with their husbands, none of Henry’s wives was a Queen Regnant. 

@alicehoffmans, may be able to explain it a bit more for us if I have missed anything, I have personally researched Tudors for a little over a decade.

The idea that the gold road was a triumph is hilarious. Also nice white feminism there, declaring a white woman’s massacre of brown people and destruction of their holy temple a “triumph”

It is a triumph cause she won that battle, in truth it was fucking stupid cause she could have just not destroyed all those supplies and take them to her people but I’m not the writers. Either way, it was a triumph for her.

As for killing of the Khals. Look, it really does suck that they are POC and depicted as vile humans, but go take that up with GRRM. Again, I’m not the writer but thus is the world this series is in, we can’t change it at all. And before you scream, “she just erased their culture”. Dothraki culture is pretty much centered around slavery, raiding, killing and raping, that’s not okay AT ALL. 

And it is a triumph FOR HER because she didn’t want to stay there and they were either gonna force her to become a wife of one of the Khals, force her to join the dosh khaleen or sell her to her enemies in exchange for horses.

After refusing to do any of that, the Khals literally just threaten to have all their people and horses rape Daenerys and have her killed. And that “holy temple” is for the women who’s husband just died and are forced to go there and if they don’t they are killed. So not sure if it’s really as holy as you think.

I understand that the imagery of it all, with Dany being white causes a lot of problems for people but this whole thing, in universe, is not race related at all. We see it as such cause its the world we live in and some people see racism in certain things. But Dany killing the Khals wasn’t racial related, she was gonna be made a slave again for the dothraki and she wasn’t gonna have that. Her entire story is about freeing people. Had nothing to do with race.
