Hi! I’m just gonna preface this with I’m actually white because you strike me as the type of person who might take my response slightly more seriously knowing that :)

I am going to admit wrongdoing in calling Elizabeth Olsen a ‘nobody’ just because I had never heard of her before seeing her as Wanda Maximoff. However, I don’t think I am wrong in any other capacity. Elizabeth Olsen is white. She is playing a Romani character. This is known as “whitewashing,” in which a white person is cast as in a non-white role, and is far more racist than anything I may have commented, particularly on a post commenting about someone who would have been much more fitting to play that role. I hope you understand where I’m coming from and check yourself next time you accuse someone who’s calling out racists of racism 💜

i didn’t like mcu wanda to begin with but i thought wandavision had potential…until it turned out that she was fully aware and in control the whole time, PLUS they reinforced how willing she was to join hydra. at first i thought the villain was someone else hijacking her powers (pretty standard imo), and THEN i thought that maybe they were trying to showcase how scary strong her powers are by having them basically take over for her in a moment of grief and her not being able to control it and being just as memory-wiped as the rest of the town, with the moments where she lashes out against interference being purely instinctual and therefore more confusing and mysterious even to herself. then when the truth came out she would’ve been horrified and basically battling herself to free everyone. i feel like that would have been a way more interesting avenue for the show to take, and also one that doesn’t make her seem pure fucking evil. (and while they were at it they should have just retconned that she and pietro were unwillingly brought into hydra but were super brainwashed during their time there, instead of being like “teehee yeah she WAS fully a neo nazi despite being based on a character that has faced massive oppression for multiple reasons. we said what we said. okay moving on again!”)

I think the worst part is that it would've made way more sense to have wendy go full villain arc. like she tortured innocent people ON PURPOSE stop pretending she's innocent or good she's just a straight up villain with the power of white woman tears
