MY FIRST PUBLISHED FANFIC

(The Beat Of A Heart) Ready To Love Again

for reference: this is a miraculous ladybug lukloe (luka/chloe) one-shot i wrote when i was fifteen, a little over two years ago. i wrote this under the name marichat_things (or Jenna Valdez) as part of a one-shot book sometime in january 2023. i remember a fanartist/fic writer who was kind of the unoffical queen of that ship commented on it which was amazing

however, in march of that year i had a moment of blinding clarity and decided i was far too deep in the throughs of fandom life 2023 me would hate to see 2025 me and deleted all my accounts. i tried to orphan the one-shot book but it didn't work, so i reuploaded it as a solitary one-shot and then orphaned it, along with another fic (which i will be posting about soon)

i know that this is actually incredible for a first published fic, but i honestly loathe it, because to me it is very amateur. but i thought it'd be fun to post about it and acknowledge my roots in fandom, and also give you a taste of my writing style (which hasn't changed a lot since then)

now that i'm reading this the actual writing is fantastic

flashbacks and cutaways in center-aligned italics for some reason

ok so i vaguely remember this was supposed to be like, in a world where chloe was finally called out for everything she did and her life went to shit or somethin like that

OK so ive read farther and apparently lila did something??? (who knows)

flashback to chloe having some sort of massive breakdown

also mentions of sh surprisingly before i started

and also weight issues. why did i not tag these

in conclusion, 15yo me is not as shit a writer as i thought she was. still shit, but less shit.
