As much as i prefer Buffy as a show , Angel absolutely had the better friend group and relationship between characters

my real found family bring them back to me 💔

Each combination of the Angel characters feels equally close to each other in a way the scoobies didn’t, particularly those outside of the ‘core four’ (and even then i argue that Giles strayed from Xander and Willow early as s4/5)

Tara and Anya for example were never folded into the group the way Fred and Gunn were , i can’t even name a time we see Xander and Tara together

Helloooooo parallels between season 6 Buffy and season 4 Wesley. Angel s4E8, Habeas Corpses. Wesley breaks things off with Lilah. There is a discussion of good vs evil, what's right and wrong. It is a different scene, undoubtedly, but Wesley and Lilah came together for similar reasons Buffy came together with Spike. Wesley felt isolated, depressed, self-loathing. Lilah appealed to his base instincts, his darkness, and his desire to feel wanted and accepted despite his flaws. Against Wesley's and Buffy's better judgement, they both formed more of a connection than they ever anticipated with their evil affair partners. They both realized they were using their partners, and then broke it off in an effort to do the right thing.

I will now be on the lookout for any and all Buffy and Wesley parallels.
