We all return to the ranch someday.

That is a given.

The city is so god forsakenly bare.

Yet still so full of life.

But so is the desert.

So I don't know why I'm surprised.

The ranch promises freedom.

Promises responsibility with purpose involved.

The city promises nothing.

Yet still manages to disappoint.

But that disappointment is contagious.

A disease hard not to join.

I keep telling myself that someday I will get there.

And when I do it will be so much better.

So much nicer then here.

Stuck in limbo between the city and the land.

When I close my eyes.

I see nothing but sand.
