the day after
Here's, still, to those missing in the Manchester attacks last night. To the children, parents, friends, relatives and even strangers, that we're lost. Many thanks to those around the UK together who are wishing us luck and having our community in their thoughts and to those on our calls today showing us respect and care and showing us love and faith still exists. Together we stand. Together we'll get through this. To the Police, Medical, Restaurants, Hotels, Taxi's, to everyone and anyone that helped whether it is hunting down missing people, getting people safely home to their families free of charge, giving a place to eat for those who hadn't, giving refuge to those stranded and lost. Thank you. Not only are you all helping those who need it the most, you're giving all of us as a whole, faith in our humanity. We won't let this stop us. "We're like glue, we stick together" as a community, we will rise. Many respects, many thanks, to those around the world, to those close by, to those next door, to those even on our streets, for caring and showing kindness when it's needed the most. Here's to hoping the lists of those dead and injured don't get any higher than they already are. Here's to hoping the people on the missing list are found safe and sound. Here's to hoping those whom are missing their children and/or parents/relatives, are reunited. Rest in peace to those whom lost their lives in such a tragedy, you were all taken too soon, whether you're as young as 5 to as old as 90, too soon. Look down on us all and guide us back to safety you angels. You will all forever be missed. You will forever be in our minds, and we will never live this down. Pray for Manchester, a home town I never thought to worry about living in. I love you and I love true community I live in, with the people who care and show what it means to be a true citizen. aim sorry it took me this long to love you and know how much you mean to me.
Post 4 (Women’s March)
The Supreme Court Case that legalized abortion, Roe vs. Wade, was in 1973. In 2017, 44 years later, women still must fight and stand up for their right to choose (to have an abortion or not). Under the Trump administration, many women are concerned that the Supreme Court will overturn Roe vs. Wade and that abortion rights will backtrack. On January 21, 2017, the Women’s March took place with the mission to “stand together in solidarity with our partners and children for the protection of our rights, our safety, our health, and our families - recognizing that our vibrant and diverse communities are the strength of our country” (https://www.womensmarch.com/mission/). The right to choose is still not secure after 44 years, but the Women’s March proved that we will not give up until it is, no matter what adversary we face.
