WIP Wednesday
"And what makes you think he is the culprit, Commander?" His face betrayed no emotion, but the shift in his stance was enough for Zelda to display a smug grin. His judgement was correct, of course, but she wouldn't give him the grace of stroking his ego even further. "Is there any Vulcan predisposition to catching criminals I should be aware of?"
Link inhaled. He didn't seem to mind the challenge. "As I'm sure you know, Lieutenant, Vulcans are a partially telepathic race. We do not use it outside of our own, but logically there would be a predisposition for... catching criminals, if we were to do so."
Zelda raised her eyebrows, an amused twinkle in her eyes. "Logically, of course." She never knew what to expect from Link, whether it be a deadly serious answer or a sarcastic retort that sounded like one.
"Furthermore—" he cleared his throat, his tone gaining a slight spring. "Unlike humans, our judgement is not quick and haste, but slow and measured."
"And very humble, of course."
"It need not be humble if it is accurate, Zelda." Link looked into her eyes, demeanor softening almost imperceptibly. His judgement of her had been terribly wrong in the beginning; Zelda did not seem to have noticed, which was uncommon for the people of her race. He could not understand her.
Her grin grew into a full smile, eyes sparkling with delight. "Yes, Link, you are right. It is good to be humble, however, when you prove yourself right over and over again."
@intcthatgoodnight ben liked for a kenobi era starter.
“Run, if that is your wish. But know this. I will find them -- each, and every one of them, all those that you would protect, all of those that you would keep from my grasp, and I will turn them, and I will make them strong with the power of their hatred, and you will die by their hands, or their blood will be upon your hands. You will never be free of me, Kenobi.”
