the time has finally arrived. i accidentally made a tradition out of redrawing this piece i made for @authenticcadence18’s wonderful fic, Can’t Help Falling in Love, every two or so years, so here we are again! also, whoever hasn’t read it, PLEASE do. had me giggling and kicking my feet the entire way through.

there will never be anything as funny as the mutual disbelief between long form and short form fic writers about each other's style.

short form writers look at people writing 100k+ fics as though this is some sort of talent given as part of a fae bargain, that the commitment required shows some sort of ungodly mental fortitude.

meanwhile long form writers look at people writing 1000 word one shots like god I would cut off my left nipple to be able to say anything concisely. i would love to play with multiple ideas. free me from the shackles of this child I have birthed. i love them but I now must take them to t-ball and doctor's appointments and they're going to destroy everything I own.

Dangerous ad going around on Tumblr ⚠️

For those who are unaware, there's been ads for a/i chat/bots going around on Tumblr. Specifically for "shapes.inc".

Obviously this is immediately worrying as chat/bots prey on low mental wellbeing, loneliness and someone's desire to interact, to then make them dependant and use their services more.

However, the ads themselves have stopped being quiet about that aspect. Here's one of the most worrying ads (aside the one that legitimately encourages users to make chat/bots of their friends' OCs without their consent, while also trying to claim that its "ethically sourced" - not telling us WHAT'S even sourced here - and therefore "guilt free".)

This is disgusting, plain and simple.

Not only is it directly preying on loneliness outright - it's encouraging a user to make a bot out of someone real without their consent. Not even a friend, no - a MUTUAL. It's encouraging parasocial dependency - just LOOK at what the "OP" is saying here: "RESPOND" "DID YOU DIE?" "PLEASE" "I MISS YOU".

It's not just encouraging parasocial behaviours nor just dependency overall, but encouraging users to breach the others' privacy just so they can pretend they're speaking to them.

Ads like this should not be allowed anywhere. Tumblr needs to get rid of it outright before someone gets hurt.

Also, the censoring is to avoid search exploit spambots. Thank you.

people saying lois was gonna break up with clark because she "felt like it" are so stupid?! you get to see how complicated their relationship is in smallville, lois not being good at dating but wanting clark. she's doubting her abilities and holding herself back from loving someone like clark fully. they love each other so much i will not have this slander

really want to explore the idea of anakin choosing darker robes because wearing dark clothing casually is a luxury on tattooine

darker clothing is cooling in the desert, but dying fibers that have been bleached by the harsh suns is a luxury a slave couldn't afford even if their master wasn't hanging a detonator over their head

little ani looking at his new master—who'll surely upgrade his clothes now that he's a knight—and privately wondering why he keeps dressing like he's lower class even after a promotion in what he's interpreted as being the jedi's caste system

realizing over time that that custom isn't a thing among the jedi, but still not being able to get rid of the perception over time

getting to pick his robes and deciding to indulge in fulfilling part of a childhood fantasy—a tattooine free of slavers and scattered with rainstorms, full of sentients gleefully jumping into puddles in dark robes that the twin suns would have burnt to ashes if they were still bound to the planet with chains

finding himself, wearing a black suit designed to bring the entire galaxy to its knees, stuck staring at a young inquisitor-to-be drenched in black clothing, terror, and chains (visible or not) alike. briefly thinking of the irony before shoving the thought away and continuing to move forward

finally being unchained by his freeborn son, a jedi wearing black by choice like his father before him. passing into the force with the image of a skywalker who glows in the sunlight instead of burning

....and so on and so forth
