Caught up!

Bit of a short one today but that's okay. It's still a fun question.

Day 10: Favorite Turtle Curseword

I think it's funny that the turtles using 'shell' as a replacement for whatever curse word they want is usually credited to the 2003 series.

But they did this in 1987 too! And the original movie! Just not quite as often. Usually in the form of "Let's kick some shell!" I rather like both versions.

But...oddly enough, I really like 2012 Raph's "Aw, sewer apples." Dunno why. Just makes me smile.

TMayNT 10: Fave Turtle Curse Word Shell! Just one letter away from being an actual curse word (a baby one at least). I loved that they used it in different phrases too.

I tried to like the new ninja turtles

Really I did. I had been against the series originally because I hated the designs and changes, but when I saw everyone talking about it I figured, maybe I was wrong. Maybe it’s good! I’m so excited to see it now!

And then I saw the first few episodes and just...

It was so bad you guys.

I’ve liked every iteration of the Ninja turtles, except for the Bayverse, but this cartoon was so awful I’m willing to say Bayverse was even better, because at least they had the SLIGHTEST grasp on what the Ninja Turtles were.

Watching the new series felt like someone decided to try to make their own version, but has never actually seen it before and based everything on second hand knowledge they got from talking to other people.

Sure, Donnie is funny and I also kind of enjoy April and how spunky she is, but...I don’t know. The art and animation looks barely better than what you would see on old Newgrounds videos, a lot of the humor is just lame, they assassinated Splinter’s character, and so far the story is just..ridiculous.

The last TMNT series we had with Nickelodeon was wonderful. Amazing. It had its up and downs but they worked with it.

This series feels like Nick is trying to cash in on the Teen Titans Go cow. I’m incredibly disappointed.
