I’m not a conversationalist. My words will probably never flow quite right, my thoughts don’t have an easy-to-follow pattern. I will hyperfocus on unimportant details and ask dumb questions. I will bring up inane stories that may or may not be related, and I will surely forget things later and ask about them like I have no idea what you’re talking about. I will never be suave, and I will use the wrong words to try to explain what I’m thinking. I will offend you by accident.

But I want to talk to you.

I want to hear about your past and your thoughts and your passions. I want you to tell me about what you hope to be up to in ten years and what got that song stuck in your head.

I want to know who broke your heart and who put it back together, I want to listen to your wild theories and weird moments. I want you to tell me how work was and how you slept and how your day went.

I want to know what else lives in your head besides you, and what keeps you up at night, and the conversations you have with yourself. I want to listen to the things that matter and the things that don’t.

And I want to tell you all those things about me.

I see a lot of posts that are like ‘reblog if you accept any question’ or ‘reblog if it’s ok to send you an ask about [insert topic here]’ and I guess this is one of those.

I really do wanna hear your stories, I really do want to answer any questions I can. I really want you to just tell me a random fact. I really want to tell you about the books I’m reading. I just... really want to engage with people that have lived a life so different from mine.
