Finally got a book I can talk about on here. I’ve been gone for so long and I’m sorry 😭 Almost on the first page of the book is when my tears started, and they pretty much lasted to the end. Man, this was a sad story. But it was a really good one. So often we forget that kids can go through some of the toughest of moments and trauma and so to read a book that makes you really focus on that was…well not nice, but refreshing I guess. Kids like these characters exist and have to deal with some pretty horrible things. You almost forgot Serenity and her friends were only in 8th grade because of the adult situations they were put in. It really makes you think. The writing felt a little odd sometimes and I felt that overall there could have been just a little more to the story. But I cried and enjoyed the story all the same. — ⭐️ 4.5/5 Stars — #bookstagram #bookreview #bookrecommendations #whatmommaleftme #reneewatson #middlegradebooks #youngadultbooks #toughstuff https://www.instagram.com/p/Byx0BqnAV-U/?igshid=1qtmhvsgsjygc
