Spending some time with family! (Been meeting with lots of relatives this week for Diwali)

Sleeping! I’ve been catching up on so much sleep

Listening to music! I don’t have any specific artist but I take recs for all genres!

Watching crime thrillers (which I realize is a rather odd addition compared to the sappiness in this post but I love it!)

Reading my grandfather’s old first editions of Agatha Christie novels that he left to me :))

Kinda-angsty short drabble for Yu-wen

She became marked at the age of just 15.

Fifteen when she decided it would be fun to play with the coding of websites just to see what she would find.

Fifteen when she accidently found the back door to Overwatch’s system mainframe.

Fifteen when they detected her int heir system, flagged her position, and their forces were almost immediately at her door.

Fifteen when she was dragged out of her home, away from her parents who had no idea what was happening, away from her little brother who had just been born.

Fifteen when she was brought kicking and screaming and crying into Overwatch’s HQ.

She tried apologizing; she’d said she’d never do it again, that she would mess with anything again, that she wouldn’t let her curiosity get the better of her.

Fifteen when the higher ups decided that she was too young to kill to keep this from happening again.

Fifteen when they told her that she would never see her family again, that she had to stay there under constant surveillance.

Fifteen when they said that when the time came and she became a legal adult, she would have to choose. Choose between supporting Overwatch and joining its ranks or being marked as a criminal and face termination.

But they all knew that there wasn’t really a choice. Her, the agents who had dragged her in, and the man in a suit who sat across from her in that cold white room; all of them, they knew.

They didn’t need to speak to her; she could already hear the words echoing endlessly against the walls of her mind. ‘Welcome to Overwatch’ they said. ‘Welcome to the rest of your life.’

She was 15.
