The only school you can get into with your current grade would be a middle school.
Head Over Heels - Ep 1
a few things left UNRESOLVED because someone decided that Head over Heels only worth 12 eps
Gyeonwoo's selfish father. I want him to receives his karma for all the things he didn’t do for Gyeonwoo. I want to see him hit rock bottom and beg Gyeonwoo for forgiveness he didn’t deserve.
Yeomhwa deserves her own hell, but I want to know her back story as well. General Dongcheon and Flower Bachelor kept trying to save her despite all the shits that she had done. A lot of unexplored potential there.
What the hell actually happened between Gyeonwoo and Huina? They decided to give the girl some screentime for eps 11 and it just resolved itself.
The obvious 3 years time jump while Seong Ah was trying to find ways to send off Bongsu.
Gyeonwoo and Seong Ah lacks of screentime. They dragged Bongsu for more than half of the eps 12, they forgot that Gyeonwoo and Seong Ah deserves more than that ungrateful evil-spirit brat.
The story was packed and with almost nonexistent plot hole until eps 10, it kept them interesting. I understand they had no choice but to make the ending rush to fit all the plot in 2 eps. I've seen the same thing happened in When the Phone Rings because they want to fit more in obviously inadequate episodes. BUT........
Did they know about the decision to make the drama shorter ONLY after half of the episode being shot or what? I just feel like the 3 years time jump was unnecessary when we actually found out that Bongsu had known his name all along. I mean the twist itself was smart, but taking 3 whole years just for Gyeonwoo to realise it when he finally enters Bongsu's memory again? That is anti-climatic, especially when we are already in the last 30 minutes of the final episode. I would've accepted it better if it happens in early minutes of the final episode. Throughout episode 12, I kept counting down how many is left for Gyeonwoo and Seong Ah to get their deserved happiness but it didn't happened until the last 10 minutes. That was a major WTF moment for me.
I love Gyeonwoo characterization but all we got was him being pushed behind the spotlight because of Bongsu's greed. It should be Gyeonwoo—Seong Ah—Ji Ho—Bongsu, but instead it became Bongsu—Gyeonwoo—Seong Ah—Ji Ho. Even Ji Ho was being pushed behind the spotlight because of Bongsu. I honestly hate episode 9-10 because Bongsu takes over Gyeonwoo completely. Gyeonwoo is too kind for this world and that's why people took advantage of that. And let me not start how upsetting it was when viewers wants Bongsu to stay instead of Gyeonwoo.
Annnywayyy, yep that's my full verdict for Head over Heels. I'm just gonna stop here because this might be an essay if I continue further. I didn't even start on how much I love Choo Young Woo with his master of dual role and versatility. I'm obsessed with him to the point of I don't know where to start. So I'm gonna stop myself. Till next kdrama obsession of mine, byeeeeeeeeee
Someone please give him a hug
My grandmother's photos really mean a lot to me
And then he kneels and begs her, I cannot
Her reply though, I think it goes back to what he said before, that evil people will just keep attacking until your smile goes away:
Please believe that she's trying to help you!

I did a Bongsu x Sungah moment, so now this is my favourite Bongsu x Gyeonu scene. You don't wear shoes inside the house, Bongsu!
Dialogue taken from Korean drama Head Over Heels 견우와 선녀 (2025) episode 12, written by Yang Ji-Hun, webtoon by An Soomin.
youth fantasy romcoms have been having a good run - i.e a lot of ppl are mentioning twinkling watermelon, lovely runner, and now head over heels
they might just not be on my radar anymore but I feel like we’re missing out on the youth fantasy period romcoms bc every time I see seongah from head over heels in her hanbok running around im like see this could be something more
bc who remembers tale of nokdu? that was such a fun sweet youth period romcom (admittedly not fantasy, and sure I was younger when I was watching it but still good) and I feel like there aren’t as many in that genre bucket these days
there were so many in like pre 2019 — love in the moonlight, flower crew joseon marriage agency, splash splash love, scarlet heart ryeo etc so im trying to figure out why they fell off (unless im wrong and they’re still there but I keep missing them or just don’t capture the same popularity anymore) —- maaybe producing period dramas has just really gone up in cost so production companies don’t wanna invest in younger, newer casts to lead them…which is shame bc i feel like this used to be a pipeline for up and coming actors
bc admittedly not all of the youth period kdramas were super good, but I feel like period kdramas in general have either shifted into more serious drama / angst territory (ex the red sleeve, my dearest, under the queen’s umbrella) orrr they’ve shifted out of the youth bucket into just period romcoms (which occasionally still exist like the king’s affection and mr. queen) >> and don’t get me wrong I don’t completely dislike this change
i guess the most recent one i can think of in the youth period category was the secret romantic guesthouse? but that certainly didn’t blow up like love in the moonlight did in its peak

Made this cute Bongsu x Sungah moment into a loop and now they look like dancing lol!
Lovedddd the drama, it managed to stay light and funny yet heartwarming, and emotional for me quite a number of times, until the last episode plus the epilogue. The characters were also a lovely and memorable bunch: Bongsu, the shaman family, Gyeonu's grandma, classmates that somehow ended up being for each other; crybaby-for-Sungah Doyeon and the rest of the gang who all freaking knew Gyeonu's front door password lol. Even Yeomhwa! I was actually sometimes conflicted each time Kkot Doryeong called out "my friend" to her after all of the bad stuff she'd done to Gyeonu. But wow, how Dongcheon Janggun and Kkot Doryeong just never gave up on her and her backstory made me feel like I couldn't really dislike her...
Shout out to Jiho and Coach though, such decent people. Jiho, though was used as a plot device to ruin the course of resolving Bongsu's case safely in the first place, was the softie who got soft for both Gyeonu and Bongsu's stories and just immediately turned his stance and rooted for each, and who recognised Sungah at just a second glance and instantly headed out to buy noodles for japchae, I cry cries. Coach-nim! The one adult who was there for Gyeonu right from their first meeting. Like, he, at one time, became Gyeonu's medals receiver in substitute of Sungah hahah.
And that concludes my thesis for Head Over Heels after watching the last episode. Anyways, hope you enjoyed the show as much as I did!
She smiles at him and he just sees her!
this trope will never get old. My heart
choo young woo nailing the dual role yet again is exhilarating.
softie gyeonwoo vs manically-evil-mischievous bongsu are both cute and exciting to watch.
when we expect bongsu to be the evil deity that wreck havoc, he is more than that. i believe that he is just a spirit unable to cross over due to his resentment or attachment to something that he wants to find in the school ground. i think seong ah will be able to help him and bongsu probably despise yeomhwa because she was the reason he become an evil deity patron.
with another 5 eps left, I hope it will satisfies us till the end. please.
I'll just focus on what I can do right now.
hoh really has a top tier cast from cho yihyun's natural aegyo thats so realistic to choo youngwoo's everything really I didn't know he was such a good actor to cha kangyoon's amazing comedic timing like he's made me laugh out loud so many times, kim mikyung GOAT do I need to say more she just knows what to do in every scene to hold it down, yoon byunghee's character complexity he's a side character with such unpredictability, choo jahyun's charisma and the way she eats in every scene? lorddddd
his kiss brougth her back...his kiss brought her back!!!! this is like if sleeping beauty was stuck up high in a tower in her own mind and the dragon guarding the entrance was the ghost of a child soldier who didn't really want to stay and the prince had to find a way through his princess's dream to go save her and bring her back...but just like her touch brought him back when he was possessed by bongsu, his kiss (delivered in her dream!!! the one she built herself so she could see him sometimes) is what brings her back to herself.
also cho yihyun did such a great job, as soon as she raised her head i knew that wasn't bongsu anymore, seongah looks at the world differently!!
Let's cycle to school today.
