"To be honest, I don't like it when you force a smile. It reminds me of what I used to be like. I kind of know what goes through your mind when you smile like that. Bad people treat you worse if you smile. They keep at it until you cry. But you and I are two different people. I projected myself onto you and got angry. I'm really sorry."
Won't Handsome end up in danger too? I didn't put him up to this. This is all him. Head Over Heels (견우와 선녀) 2025
Bongsu can't show himself until this time tomorrow. But just to be sure...take this lip balm.
HEAD OVER HEELS - EPISODE 8
hey. if someone tries to smear you on the internet for something asinine, what you need to do is block every single person engaging with the post and remind yourself that absolutely under no circumstances are you obligated to draft a PR response defending some out-of-context screenshot or kink fanfiction or thing you said when you were 15 or whatever put your blood in the water. you are not a public figure or a brand. you do not have to respond to something if you know in your heart it is bullshit.
i've been seeing how this post is resonating and wanted to write a followup when i had the right words for it but these tags by @stagrunner perfectly summarize exactly what i was going to add.
you can tell someone's motive by how they approach a problem. if someone is actually genuinely concerned about something you've done in the past and not just in it for the spectacle, they'll reach out for clarification before resorting to anything as dramatic as callouts. someone who has decided to call you out is not someone with whom you can hope to recover your image-- you were not important to them in the first place. If you were, they would have handled it privately.
sometimes people are just ideologically at odds with you and aren't going to be convinced. sometimes it's not a case of "trolling" and you're dealing with a true believer in whatever moral code you've violated. if a hundred strangers think you're a sick in the head rape apologist because you post whump art of hazbin characters or whatever, wouldn't you rather be spending your time drawing more of that fucked-up art than arguing with them about why you're not a bad person? fuck 'em! block indiscriminately! block on vibes! you don't have a Public Image to maintain and don't you forget it.

Head Over Heels - Ep 1
a few things left UNRESOLVED because someone decided that Head over Heels only worth 12 eps
Gyeonwoo's selfish father. I want him to receives his karma for all the things he didn’t do for Gyeonwoo. I want to see him hit rock bottom and beg Gyeonwoo for forgiveness he didn’t deserve.
Yeomhwa deserves her own hell, but I want to know her back story as well. General Dongcheon and Flower Bachelor kept trying to save her despite all the shits that she had done. A lot of unexplored potential there.
What the hell actually happened between Gyeonwoo and Huina? They decided to give the girl some screentime for eps 11 and it just resolved itself.
The obvious 3 years time jump while Seong Ah was trying to find ways to send off Bongsu.
Gyeonwoo and Seong Ah lacks of screentime. They dragged Bongsu for more than half of the eps 12, they forgot that Gyeonwoo and Seong Ah deserves more than that ungrateful evil-spirit brat.
The story was packed and with almost nonexistent plot hole until eps 10, it kept them interesting. I understand they had no choice but to make the ending rush to fit all the plot in 2 eps. I've seen the same thing happened in When the Phone Rings because they want to fit more in obviously inadequate episodes. BUT........
Did they know about the decision to make the drama shorter ONLY after half of the episode being shot or what? I just feel like the 3 years time jump was unnecessary when we actually found out that Bongsu had known his name all along. I mean the twist itself was smart, but taking 3 whole years just for Gyeonwoo to realise it when he finally enters Bongsu's memory again? That is anti-climatic, especially when we are already in the last 30 minutes of the final episode. I would've accepted it better if it happens in early minutes of the final episode. Throughout episode 12, I kept counting down how many is left for Gyeonwoo and Seong Ah to get their deserved happiness but it didn't happened until the last 10 minutes. That was a major WTF moment for me.
I love Gyeonwoo characterization but all we got was him being pushed behind the spotlight because of Bongsu's greed. It should be Gyeonwoo—Seong Ah—Ji Ho—Bongsu, but instead it became Bongsu—Gyeonwoo—Seong Ah—Ji Ho. Even Ji Ho was being pushed behind the spotlight because of Bongsu. I honestly hate episode 9-10 because Bongsu takes over Gyeonwoo completely. Gyeonwoo is too kind for this world and that's why people took advantage of that. And let me not start how upsetting it was when viewers wants Bongsu to stay instead of Gyeonwoo.
Annnywayyy, yep that's my full verdict for Head over Heels. I'm just gonna stop here because this might be an essay if I continue further. I didn't even start on how much I love Choo Young Woo with his master of dual role and versatility. I'm obsessed with him to the point of I don't know where to start. So I'm gonna stop myself. Till next kdrama obsession of mine, byeeeeeeeeee
Someone please give him a hug
My grandmother's photos really mean a lot to me
And then he kneels and begs her, I cannot
Her reply though, I think it goes back to what he said before, that evil people will just keep attacking until your smile goes away:
Please believe that she's trying to help you!

I did a Bongsu x Sungah moment, so now this is my favourite Bongsu x Gyeonu scene. You don't wear shoes inside the house, Bongsu!

youth fantasy romcoms have been having a good run - i.e a lot of ppl are mentioning twinkling watermelon, lovely runner, and now head over heels
they might just not be on my radar anymore but I feel like we’re missing out on the youth fantasy period romcoms bc every time I see seongah from head over heels in her hanbok running around im like see this could be something more
bc who remembers tale of nokdu? that was such a fun sweet youth period romcom (admittedly not fantasy, and sure I was younger when I was watching it but still good) and I feel like there aren’t as many in that genre bucket these days
there were so many in like pre 2019 — love in the moonlight, flower crew joseon marriage agency, splash splash love, scarlet heart ryeo etc so im trying to figure out why they fell off (unless im wrong and they’re still there but I keep missing them or just don’t capture the same popularity anymore) —- maaybe producing period dramas has just really gone up in cost so production companies don’t wanna invest in younger, newer casts to lead them…which is shame bc i feel like this used to be a pipeline for up and coming actors
bc admittedly not all of the youth period kdramas were super good, but I feel like period kdramas in general have either shifted into more serious drama / angst territory (ex the red sleeve, my dearest, under the queen’s umbrella) orrr they’ve shifted out of the youth bucket into just period romcoms (which occasionally still exist like the king’s affection and mr. queen) >> and don’t get me wrong I don’t completely dislike this change
i guess the most recent one i can think of in the youth period category was the secret romantic guesthouse? but that certainly didn’t blow up like love in the moonlight did in its peak
