18Apr2017 10 of 18 Glazed Fired works from the Basic Pottery Workshop Today, I picked up my first ten works that were included in the initial batch of glaze firing. My heart sings with joy, and I'm very pleased with how my glazed combination came out. I had one prodigal work though, as I was sorting them out from the batch. One work literally jumped out of my hand and fell on the concrete floor, splitting the handle into three parts and chipping the spout. I showed it to the studio assistant, Kuya Nel and immediately told me he can repair it. I just need to initially ment it with super glue then he'll reinforce it with ceramic epoxy. I'm so eager to see my glazed works and it's a very pleasing feeling to finally see them made it to the last stage of pottery making. Glazing is mostly hit and miss, a lot can go wrong during firing and seeing them survive is really magical. A perfect pre-birthday treat. I love the uncertainty of pottery.☺😍😙💗💘💝🌱🌸🍃🍂🌻🌼🌿🌞 #simplepleasure #pottery #wheelthrowingpottery #fromthekilnwithlove #glazefired #myclaystory (at UPCFA Ceramics Studio)
07Apr2017 Basic Pottery Workshop out takes: Sharing details of some of my bisque fired works during our glazing day at the UPCFA Ceramics Studio. I'm looking forward to set practice days in the coming weeks to get my confidence in centering and lifting in the potter's wheel. Nonetheless, I'm happy and proud of my babies.😊☕🌱🌸🌻🌼🌿🍃 #basicpotteryworkshop #wheelthrowingpottery #bisquefired #glazingday (at UPCFA Ceramics Studio)
Just some of my last works from the Basic Pottery (wheel throwing) workshop that I attended at the UPCFA Ceramics Studio. I've been refraining to post my works until the whole workshop duration is done. I've been documenting my works from day 1 to 7 which was glazing day. I'll be posting my wheel pottery experience in a full blog post soon. In the mean time, I'm sharing these, my last four works out of the bunch. They're not perfect, I still have a long way to get the groove of the spinning wheel, at least I've got the clay centering covered. At the same time, it's also these batch imperfections that I love the most. Imperfectly raw, reflecting both my struggle and act of letting go. It's not easy working on a moving clay. There are moments when you thought you already got your groove. Then your piece decides to wobble, I let them be and move on to work on a new one. They're not perfect, but they're all my babies and I love them all. 😙💗💘💝😍🌱🌻🍂🍃🌼🌿 #wheelthrowingpottery #claystoriesstudio (at UPCFA Ceramics Studio)
