Glaze fire redo: started loading realized had some coils hanging, so torched them and stapled them back into place Finished loading fired her up at 8:43a (30mins on low) have an 1hr on Med and then turn it to high. Babysit her until she turns off. So keeping busy running wires on construction job with my Dad and nailing studs that were missed by workers. Being productive. People will still need dishes they can sterilize, hobbies to do and houses to live in so I'm still working. Kiln has plates, yarn bowls and Christmas ornaments excited to see how they turn out. 18Apr2017 10 of 18 Glazed Fired works from the Basic Pottery Workshop Today, I picked up my first ten works that were included in the initial batch of glaze firing. My heart sings with joy, and I'm very pleased with how my glazed combination came out. I had one prodigal work though, as I was sorting them out from the batch. One work literally jumped out of my hand and fell on the concrete floor, splitting the handle into three parts and chipping the spout. I showed it to the studio assistant, Kuya Nel and immediately told me he can repair it. I just need to initially ment it with super glue then he'll reinforce it with ceramic epoxy. I'm so eager to see my glazed works and it's a very pleasing feeling to finally see them made it to the last stage of pottery making. Glazing is mostly hit and miss, a lot can go wrong during firing and seeing them survive is really magical. A perfect pre-birthday treat.
