I feel like a lot of Sansa Stark haters are misogynists in a way that also exposes that they're mad that Game of Thrones isn't just a bunch of power fantasies lmao. They're mad that she's selfish and shortsighted in the beginning, but duh, she's a child. Anyone would be selfish and shortsighted as a child. Even these guys. Then they're mad that she "doesn't do anything" (especially when they contrast her with Arya). It's just another one of those things where it's like, sorry my guy, sorry you were forced to acknowledge that in this world of power brokering and war, there are also other people who are forced into dreadful situations and who cannot Cut People's Throats to get out of it, I'm sorry that you find a realistic depiction of vulnerability and helplessness so unbearable and I wonder how you get on in real life with that. idk...they hate her so much for stuff that's mostly out of her control. it's her femininity and it's also her just being a child and it's also her not being physically violent and they came to this show just wanting it to be nonstop power and violence and like...sorry!!!!! Sorry a tv show forced you to be observe a human girl for once in your life and have it not be about her killing people! 🙃 (note: this is NOT a knock against Arya whomst I love. I just find that a lot of Sansa haters try to compare the sisters in a way that *they* think makes Sansa look bad but just has more to do with their own obsession with violence rly) anyways. sansa stark defense squad lives
!!!!!!! all of this, exactly — thank you for taking the time to write this out <3
if we were to get another fire island esque queer austen adaptation, which book would you like to see adapted, who would direct, act, etc?
OOOH okay first of all LOVE love this question.
Have to think about it a bit. Okay so everyone always adapts pride and prejudice and emma. And like I get it. They're very adaptable to modern setting. But if I had to choose (and maybe it's 'cause I recently read it) it would be Northanger Abbey.
Like just imagine a girl who's like obsessed with modern crime shows suddenly meets a gal and all seems great until she meets the father of said gal and comes to the conclusion that the father killed his wife. She then becomes obsessed with trying to find the truth. There's also her new friend and her best friend (well in the book it's a brother) who at first hit it off but of course the new friend turns out to be bitch. Like I can just about see it and it would be hilarious. As for who'd direct it. It would have to be someone who knows how to handle comedy within horror, right? 'cause the entire book is basically just making fun of gothic novels. Maybe Halina Reijn who did Bodies Bodies Bodies. I feel like bodies and northanger are actually kinda similar in that the character invents their own horror story that actually isn't true. The only thing is that I think Halina might not be queer and I think I'd love someone openly queer to direct it. So maybe Emma Seligman? Either way it would have to star Rachel Sennott that's for sure. Oh OH and i know she's a bit older but I had the best thought which is to have the romantic interest be played by Natasha Negovanlis who played Carmilla in the web series. I mean just imagine it would be such a great nod to the webseries and its fans while at the same time having the vampire be in a film that mocks gothic novels? Just absolutely amazing. I'd also love to see any of the We Are Lady Parts gals there. Literally any of them. Oh Derry Girls gals are also an option. Or just you know just any of the queer actresses around the age of 30 would be good. I'ms struggling to come up with names. I think Hannah Gadsby should have like a cameo there. I'd love Indya Moore there somewhere but I don't think they'd go for it. Maybe MJ Rodriguez. Oh and Willem Dafoe would have to play the dad obviously.
Okay this took me a while. I was trying to search adequate actresses but I seem to be just blanking on who I'd want to the other characters. But there you have it. What would you like to see adapted to modern queer setting from the classics?

hi there & happy new year! can you please suggest some fcs like Chloe Zhao, Isabel Sandoval, Hong Chau? I'm particularly drawn to them because a) they have personality b) characteristics (which I also have) like Chloe's wide nose, Hong's thin eyes, the non-pale-as-a-sheet skin they all have—qualities that I feel are sometimes erased/downplayed with makeup, photoshop, or surgery due to media issues/racism/colorism. not to be too soppy about it but i find their beauty affirming. thank you <3

I've now found so many faceclaims I want to use, ahhh! It was really hard to find people but if any of our followers have any suggestions please let me know and I'll update the ask.
I never really interact with it but I do love that you do scambusting because it trained me in what to look for. I got an ask recently that was like will you donate to my cat??? and sure enough when I looked at their archive (a trick I learned from you), they'd only posted stuff within the previous one or two weeks. Like no. I think I will pass on this particular one s;alfkjjdaf;jdsf anyways thumbs up from me on the scambusting
That's good! I've noticed a lot of other people seem to have caught on as well :) I'm not the only person who does this, but I'm glad my and others' efforts have been able to help people! And thank you so much!
hiya! 💛 you've done some cool stuff this year, from your first pride to swimming lessons, and it's been fun to hear you talk about it! what other things did you really enjoy in 2022, and what new stuff would you like to try in 2023? ✨
Awww, thank you, thank you, thank you!
Honestly, when I...think about this year, I mainly think about how exhausted (tho largely in a good way!) that I've been, adjusting to finally having a damn good job with damn good people (a rarity nowadays) and how I haven't been writing as much due all the changes in my life...
But then this ask reminded me and you're right: I've done a ton otherwise and I thank you! Going to Pride incognito was a blessing and learning to swim is still just as much terrifying as it is exhilarating.
Other stuff I've really, really enjoyed is just driving my own car; doing my own grocery shopping, which has to be my fav chore; finally getting my ears pierced and enjoying how I look; getting back into the dating game (uhh...even tho I dun' fucks with T*nder); and being able to access and read the books with the representation I want to read.
I've just been enjoying having access, y'know?
And next year I can't wait to have even more access to new stuff like Swimming Like a Boss; seeing plays/musicals; visiting museums; dating outside of Tinder; and continuing my fav-ever chore, grocery shopping!
I’m gonna get us matching jackets with embroidery and rhinestones that say Nate Isn’t Irredeemably Evil—You Just Missed Literally All The Ted Lasso Values and Themes
It’s such a relief to find someone else who feels the same because like oh I had to straight up leave some Ted Lasso fandom spaces over this. I saw some people eager to watch Roy beat him up in some white feminist protect Keeleys honor thing and oh god I’m still mad
But also like I’m kind of impressed it took almost two entire seasons before an aspect of a popular fandom got ruined for me by fandom racism 🤷🏻♀️
yup yup yup you said that all exactly right bestie. i'm glad there's some ppl in the fandom that can think critically and see the depth of the situation instead of being like NATE NEEDS TO DIE. it's so telling how white fandoms treat flawed characters of color that make mistakes vs white characters that do the same thing.
