Image ID: a sketchy four panel cartoon. C. 2021 Debbie Tung, @wheresmybubble
First two panels have a person wearing ponytail, hoodie, and jeans, toting a large box full of brightly colored jars. Caption reads, "it's easy to always want to show up... For everyone else" and the smiling ponytail person is offering bright jars to two other delighted people.
Second two panels show the ponytail person with one last brilliant yellow jar remaining in the box. Caption reads, "but it's really important to show up ...for yourself as well". Final image: the ponytail person hugs their knees under a tree, gazing at the night sky. The sky's full of stars the same color as the jar that sits by their hip, keeping them company.

Happy Sunday bookworms! I hope it has been a wonderful weekend for you! . I’ll be honest, I’ve developed quite the book crush on @wheresmybubble. Debbie Tung’s illustrations celebrate life as an introvert and her love of books and reading. Her drawings resonate with me on SO many levels. Her search for an ideal world, a bubble where all the things she loves coexist equally – is so relatable. So is her desire to spend all day reading. What more is there is love? Her illustrations are adorable and I devour them greedily… if you don’t already follow her Instagram @wheresmybubble, then I encourage you to seek it out. It makes me smile every time I see one of Debbie’s post and this gorgeous little book – Book Love – is the perfect compilation of all kinds of bookish love and the daily #bookwormproblems we struggle with * cough * never-ending-tbrpile-and-wishlist-and-not-enough-hours-to-read-in-a-day * cough * . #debbietung #wheresmybubble #booklove #comics #introvert #bookworm #bibliophile #bookaddict #bookcrush #covelust #bookoftheday #shelfie #bookshelfie #sundayshelfie #shelfiesunday #rainbowbooks #bookishrainbow #booksbooksbooks (at Liverpool) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bw0CjganTLa/?igshid=9mcngmr4haqv

Quiet Girl in a Noisy World is a journal comic collection by Debbie Tung about her life as an introvert. More precisely, it’s about her discovering the concept of introversion and accepting herself. The collection shows her struggle from childhood (through flashbacks) through university to when she has a real ‘grown-up’ job, all the while struggling with the amounts of socialization that’s expected of her.
Honestly this entire book was so ridiculously relatable to me, that sometimes it almost felt like Tung had managed to grab hold of my diary. There were things in there that I for years thought only I was going through (like feeling like you’re disappearing when making small talk) and honestly reading that someone else has experienced these things too has made me feel so much more...
Keep reading on my blog!

This is Me! And Just like that, here I Am. Trillian, from ISCA. Yeah yeah. Today I managed to bump into Tumblr. I had heard about it but nothing gelled-- I have plenty of ways to wast -- er, spend time. You know, like ISCABBS and Facebook. And Life, which happens even if it isn’t the least bit Real. So, tumblr... I just hadn’t investigated. But _nobody_ ever told me about comixology! Somebody should have! Why hasn’t the universe conspired to have me discover it sooner than today? We may never know. [LeSigh.] Wait, Ed... I think I might blame you! But... I was trying to create an account so I could share Debbe Tung and now my page looks like I’m pretending to be here in some stalkerish way. Oops. So... Check out Quiet Girl in a Noisy World on @comixology -- And all things Debbie Tung.and her work. Comic: “Where’s My Bubble” and books, like the one above. Quiet Girl in a Noisy World. It resonates. They way things do when you meet someone from your tribe.
Even if I’m the loudest introvert you will ever meet. ....And, quite possibly, about to be sued by Debbie Tung for intellectual property law unless I can figure out how change this post. #reallybadattumblr #itsmyfirstday
