your recent posts remind me that bruce & dick get hit a lot w the "you only count as a good parent/sibling if you represent the platonic ideal of the parent and/or sibling i personally wanted instead of the complex, nuanced, flawed person you are in canon w/feelings & beliefs & strong convictions so i am gonna water you down and change everything about u and call u good parent!bruce and good sibling!dick and strip away any parts of u i want & ppl who have a problem w that just clearly hate fun and healthy relationships" beam in tons of fanon/fics lol and it drives me nuts every time.
some people need to stop reading and write their own wish fulfillment. i don't even mean that as an insult i mean literally. i know twisting an already existing character to fit certain needs is easier but they would get so much more out of just making some original characters.
i think fandom is always going to have this, people who prefer tropes to actual characters, and rely more on personal projection than canon material, i even think they have their own right to it, i just prefer to run in different circles and, yeah, start to get annoyed if i bump into it too often. especially because there starts to be an overlap in sanitizing Dick or Bruce's character for the sake of another batkid
