I feel like a reboot could really expand this whole sequence especially to give the very last scene more of a punch. Like from the start the way the story refused to give us more blatant parallels between Soul and Crona was really strange despite it would have helped explain why he was so dedicated in helping Maka in her cause despite his whole arc being about him trying to deal with the injury Crona inflicted. The sequence can basically be lengthened by showing how much these two struggled in the beginning (might even gave us some flashbacks about how similar Soul and Crona used to be) this way the scene where Soul gave advice to Crona to just be like him and put themself out there would hit even more. And then by making a big scene cementing Soul and Maka's bond one last time (and how by the end of the day Crona was primarily affected by these two and not just Maka) in the penultimate chapter, the whole 'Let's show Crona our resonance!!' scene would have hit harder.
Honestly I feel like by refusing to use Soul as a co-protagonist outright the story lost a lot of potential nuance especially in regard to the whole Crona plot. As it is, everything just felt like your generic shonen fare of kids trying to talk by beating the crap outta each other...which just felt out of place given the story also put a lot of emphasis on the importance of basic healthy communications and building trust between partners and how just a slight dysfunction in the relationship has the potential to adversely affect resonance and thus their performance in battle, especially in the beginning where Soul and Maka constantly needed to figure out how to better communicate with each other despite them already being so close...
