Sylphs are passive creating classes. While a Maid actively creates on their own, a Sylph’s creation is almost best described in the form of a question: “is this necessary?” Sylphs are often very in-tune with their aspect from the very beginning and provide it naturally, almost by the whim of the aspect. However, they have an aggressive side, and that is their Prince inverse. The inverse of a Sylph is a Prince, who actively destroys, and thus the Sylph actively “removes” their opposing aspect to passively “add” their own. The role of the Sylph can also be taken to mean healing, as passive provision is very similar and can do the same thing.
Space is one of the two cardinal aspects. Along with Time it makes up everything in the physical plane, and the duality of creation and destruction. While Time is more inclined towards destruction and the abstract, Space is more about creation and practical things. Space represents everything spacial and physical in reality, making Space players good with what is there and tangible. Space itself is crucial in a session due to the breeding of the Genesis Frog, a duty that always falls on the Space player because of Space’s association with universes and creation. Space also ties in with creativity and resources, aesthetics and fashion, and practicality and form.
The Sylph of Space is the passive creator class of the physical plane, focused mostly upon concepts such as creation. The Sylph of Space would be a creator by nature, seeking to make. For example, Kanaya loved to create clothing, and also had been given the task of creating a new chance for the troll race. The sylph would also be capable of creating literal space, potentially creating little pockets or passively increasing the amount of space out of necessity. The inverse, Prince of Time, means that the Sylph would destroy time, literally breaking up the timeline as a means to focus on primarily on movement and space instead of the progression of time.
hard one ‘cause i’m kinda neutral on both of them... i’m gonna say torterra? conceptually, i always like that in media. the turtle with a small world on its back, i mean! and might be a little biased because i rly loved ash’s turtwig uvu
ok that also reminds me i’ve seen almost every ep of the anime so you can also ask me to pick between specific character’s pokemon omg
"Hello smol children! I am Whimsibee! I like art and Pokemon. Please enjoy this undertale and other trash on my account. I am queen of fandoms and will crush you with my pikachu."
Oh my goodness… 7/10. I bonked you down cause I never really call anyone smol (Most of the time, I am the smol one in terms other than height!) and I never use a pikachu. I also introduce myself as Whimsi as opposed to Whimsibee, but hey, that was only a small factor of that. Haha. (If I were using a Whimsicott, Torterra, or Salamence, I’d easily bonk it to an 8! ^_^)
Write an ‘about me’ pretending to be me and i’ll rate the accuracy x/10!
So I decided, you know what, I haven’t ever done anything for New Years before. But I will right now. This ‘thing’ is a thing to address how amazing online friends, in person friends, in person turned online or online turned in person friends, can possibly be. Just warning, this is pretty personal to me.
I’d first like to of course talk about my amazing best friend who, while she doesn’t have a tumblr, has been so wonderful. We have been friends for a while, but this year we are as close as ever. Both of us have that nagging fear of losing each other because of some stupid decision, but both of us are really forgiving of each other. You call me the nicest person in the world, and that conversation we had last night where you said I look so unique, unlike anyone else, it really touched me. You can compare looks of everyone to someone, mistake them for someone, but you said that would be impossible for her to do to me. Being told this when I think I am just average in looks, I felt overjoyed. So thank you for a wonderful 2015, and hopefully we will grow even closer you damn nerd.
Then there are my closest online friends, mega-gengar and silverjolteon, You two are so wonderful. While you guys are both older than me, and you jolt keep mentioning me as like a little sister, it doesn’t always come up in conversation like some others might do. Some people could bring up my age in a conversation and say that I am so small, that I wouldn’t know anything about the subject. But you dorks respect me even if I am so smol compared to you in age. Faleep, you always make sure that Jolt and I are on track with sleep, even if it is a huge joke sometimes, and I really respect you. You are so smart, you are a wonderful artist, and I can’t say how great it was to meet you in 2015. Now Jolt, I’ve known you since 2014. Around a year and a half now, according to this original pokechat screenshot I have. I met you with a ton of others, and I didn’t expect you were going to be as amazing of a friend as you are. You always call me a precious cinnamon roll, too pure for this world and I guess I am. You give me wonderful advice, we talk about what ranges from fandoms to pretty personal things that affect us in real life quite heavily. Even if you two are older than me, you are still my friends and it sometimes feels like that gap in our age isn’t there at all.
In person friends turned online, I miss you. I wish I could see you and hug you all the time, but I can’t. If I could I would. But all I wish is to see you more and keep in contact. If I lost contact with some of you, I don’t know what I’d do. This section will probably be short because it is to such a small crowd, but quite a diverse crowd. I just want you all to be healthy, to keep your physical and mental health in a spot that is as wonderful as you can get it. You know who you are if you read this.
But... Online friends turned in person, this hasn’t happened yet. I hope that someday, I will meet some of you. Specifically two that may have been mentioned before, I hope within the next few years, maybe once I am a bit older, then maybe we can meet.
Overall, I wish the people in my life in 2015 good luck and happiness in the upcoming year of 2016. I hope to continue talking for the year, and later years after 2016 to come.
Could you explain Seer of Doom and Witch of Heart?
Sure!
I’ve Touched on Seers of Doom A Bit before, and Here Too(in the last paragraph). I’ll try to give a decent rundown on both though, as with yesterday’s ask, I won’t be going into as much detail as usual since I’m dealing with two in one.
Seer of Doom
A Seer of Doom would, following Aradia’s phrasing come to, “Know Doom Comprehensively”, which could be very beneficial. At the most obvious, a Seer of Doom could display insight into and foreknowledge of Calamities(very helpful for Players of an Apocalypse-bearing Game), an easy comprehension of and easy skill at manipulation the esoteric Mechanics and Rules of The Game(and of Rules/Codes, and the Systems they create, in general), foresight into what is Inevitable(in the what Cannot But Happen), and premonitions regarding death. Less obviously, a Seer of Doom might be able to predict Causation(both as an example of Rules through Physics, and as a Facet of Inevitability), or the Laws of The Game and the Judgements/Punishments meted out by It or other Entities to Heroes(working from an archaic meaning of Doom as law, judgement, or punishment), or the general Fate of their Session and Friends(both through Inevitability, and directly since Doom can also mean “Fate”). A more theoretical part of being a Seer of Doom, though one I think very likely, is that Doom is the Aspect of Prophecy itself, and thus a Seer of Doom would be “Know Prophesy Comprehensively”. I suspect this for a couple of reasons; primarily because our two canonical Doom Heroes -the Captors- both display Prophetic talents, but also because it fits with the other connections Doom is implied to have by the text to the Inevitable, Outcomes, and Fate. As such, a Seer of Doom might, at God Tier, display an ability to “See” through all the Aspects, or perhaps even to “See” through Prophesy itself, connecting them to all other Seers, and all other Sources of Prophecy(like Skaia and the HTs, for instance).
It’s important to note, though, that a Seer of Doom wouldn’t start out this way. Going from the example set by Rose and Terezi, a Seer must Seek first -must attain knowledge and act upon it- before they begin to manifest their Sight and, even more importantly, must then learn how to wield that sight effectively, always Focus on using it correctly, and constantly be cognizant of the Influence of Their POV upon it. All Seers so far have started off outwardly convinced of their correctness and suppressing doubts, only to be faced with some deeply personal loss(Rose her Mother, Terezi, Vriska, but perhaps also Aradia and her Sight as part of a cycle of loses) which makes them question how savvy and in control they truly are, and a Seer of Doom would likely face just such a challenge(though it’s your Story, so you wouldn’t have to tell it like that if you didn’t want[1]). Given certain facets of Doom -it’s connections to Inevitability, Calamities, Death, and Punishment specifically- and the fatalistic streak Sollux displays, a Seer of Doom might suffer a particularly devastating one.
Witch of Heart
My read of what a Witch of Heart does is, in full, “Changes and Directs others through Heart, Changes and Directs the relationship of others to Heart and Relationships through Heart, Changes and Directs both Heart and the Changing/Directing(Flow?) of Heart, Changes and Directs through Heart, and finally is Changed and Directed through/by/in relation to Heart”. Since I tend to take Sylphs and Witches as paired, though, I think it’d be fair to apply an “active transformation” to the summary of Sylphs which occurred to me yesterday, so a pithier way of putting it(in this specific Heart context) would be, “Witches of Heart Shape Heart and through Heart in every respect; including in regards to themselves”.
That could be very powerful indeed given the nature of Heart. On the surface, Heart may look like a rather narrow Aspect -one dealing only with The Self, the Soul, and Uniqueness- but it seems to me that The Self is, by it’s very nature, a Gestalt that can be constructed from anything -from all the experiences, influences, and preferences existence makes possible- and in this way Heart can touch on nearly anything. Consider how, for Nepeta, Heart was inextricably about Cats, Tea, Sweets(to the point that her whole Land revolved around these), while to Dirk The Sword fills a similarly symbolic role in defining his Aspect and his Self(the whole “I shatter but I don’t bend” speech[2]). So a Witch of Heart would not only possess the power to change their Self and the Selves of others, but possibly also the ability to change all those Facets of Reality which are part of their Heart; just as an example, a Witch of Heart who Identifies with marksmanship and shooting might be able to warp the shape of firearms, the paths of bullets, or alter the “Stats” of gunpowder weapons and ammunition >:]
Romance(”Matters of the Heart”) has been important to all three of the Heart Heroes in HS, both as a technical subject of study, and personally. As such, a Witch of Heart might display the ability to Shape the Romances of those around them. Through this ability, they might further impact relationships in general; after all, if one of your Friends breaks up with another Friend seemingly out of the blue or for an “unfair” reason, it’d be only natural to feel a sympathetic anger at them as well.
We’ve also seen, through Brain-Ghost!Dirk’s Soul-Lightning, that Calliope’s inclusion of “Soul” in her description of the Heart Aspect to Dirk wasn’t entirely metaphorical; that Heart can impact the Dream-Selves, Ghosts, or “Souls” of others as discrete objects in-themselves directly. The options open to a Witch capable of Changing Souls/Shaping through Souls are as well-tread(Soul-Swapping) as they are Terrifying(transforming Souls into Monstrous Forms; trapping people’s Souls in Beastly Forms to act as servants, or as a punishment; removing a person’s Soul a placing it in another object). Indeed, of all the Titles able to create a Phylactery in the D&D sense -to remove their own soul and place it elsewhere so as to render themselves metaphysically invincible- a Witch of Heart seems, to me, to be the likeliest >:] >:] A Soul-manipulating Witch of Heart would also be incredibly useful against Foes with a significant metaphysical bent, such as Soul-Amalgams like Lord English >:3
But, just like with Seers, Witches Don’t Start Off There. Witches have a lot to struggle through: an Aspect-related Guardian that they love but who restrains their agency and freedom whose death they must mourn, only to end up fighting it through the Black King in the end; learning to be confident in themselves; learning to trust the competence of others; learning to rein in their own impulses towards Control and Power for the benefit of others. Sylphs struggle with how they relate to their Aspect through finding their connection to it; Witches, I think, rarely doubt the connection but still struggle with that Relation through this conflict of how to Use it, what part to Develop, and where exactly they exist inside all the Power they wield. We see Jade struggle with that, with loosing sight of “Jade” beside the “Omnipotence” being a Witch of Space offers, though it’s likely being mind-controlled by a manipulator like Condy exacerbated that conflict far beyond. How that would play out with a Witch of Heart I’m not so sure, but given the delicacy of their Aspect it could certainly go to some painful places (:/
[1]As I’m always saying, its the Person who defines Title and Game, not the other way around. And there is also an argument to be made that the Challenges Players face are influenced by the sort of Session they’re dealing with; Terezi’s and Rose’s personal difficulties may have been a necessary part of setting the Stage for their true purpose of taking down a metaverse destroying brat.
[2]Which is actually super inaccurate though a commonly held belief. A bendy sword is a good sword(provided it it isn’t so bendy it deforms from use :p)
