Lifeline Remains for White Falcons
A 1-0 victory for South Korea over Kyrgyzstan has the former Soviet Republic with two losses in two matches.
But when looking back the match between South Korea and Kyrgyzstan, it is safe to say that the score could have been a lot more lopsided due to the South Koreans hitting the post on more than one occasion.
Before getting to the next match for Kyrgyzstan, I just want to point out that I am happy that manager Aleksandr Krestinin made a good decision by benching keeper Pavel Matyash.
I know I am being a little harsh, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Matyash has played his last match for Kyrgyzstan.
Yet I must point out that I am surprised Krestinin went with the less-experienced Kutman Kadyrbekov instead of Valery Kashuba.
Moving on now, the Kyrgyz squad must be relieved to have only lost by one goal against the mightier South Korean national team.

Next up for Kyrgyzstan is a match against the Philippines on 16 January in Dubai.

This is a match that I am interested in watching because the winner of the match will have a good chance at moving on to the second round as one of the best third-place teams.
The Philippines had a respectable 1-0 loss to South Korea in its first match but was easily defeated 3-0 by China on 11 January.
Both squads will be ready to throw the kitchen sink at one another because a draw will more than likely not be enough for either team to advance.
Kyrgyzstan was unlucky to get zero points against China. But this time around I think we will see a victory from the White Falcons.
