A great day for Fort Berthold’s MHA at Whiteshield
A field north of White Shield is much more than a plot of land with a crop of maturing grain. It’s been chosen as the site where three new facilities will soon be built.
This past Wednesday, a groundbreaking ceremony officially marked the beginning of a project that will give the city a new school, a new Head Start building and a community center.
Prior to ceremoniously turning the first shovels…

New UNH logo features blue, white shield
DURHAM (AP) – The University of New Hampshire has a new logo — a blue and white shield featuring the letters “NH.” The design was unveiled Saturday night during a men’s hockey game. It features a blue “N” against a white background and a white “H” against blue. Those are the school colors, and are meant to represent the state’s blue water and white snow. University officials faced criticism last spring when the design firm Chermayeff Geismar & Haviv presented three other possible logos. The new design, created by the same company, was chosen by an advisory panel of students, alumni, faculty and staff. The new logo does not affect the official university seal or the wildcat symbol used for athletic teams. New UNH logo features blue, white shield

Molson Coors can be accused of lots of things, but this is one that I'm in favour of. Apparently the recipe used is from 1830, with a hop bill of Challenger, Fuggles and Northdown and hand brewed in the old brewery. This blog from David Bailey of Hardknott Brewery is very respectful of the methods used and well worth a read.
Look: Slightly hazy, dull copper colour beer. Foamy white head with large bubbles, about one finger deep.
Aroma: Bready and beery. Fruitiness that comes over as sweet and creamy with metalic edge. Don't get the sulphurous Burton snatch I'd expect from an old style Burton beer.
Taste: Chewy caramel malt, bit of nuttiness, slightly grassy hops or at least vegetal, there's iron in there too, finish is a lingering low-level bitterness.
Mouthfeel: Fizzy on the tongue. Pretty refreshing, but leaving a dry feel.
Overall: An unsurprisingly old fashioned styled beer. The metal is a bit unpleasant but everything else about this adds up to a nice pub ale. I think it's one of the better old style English IPAs I've tried. Certainly better than Greene King, although that's not difficult. I would drink it again and I'd recommend it as a style example, don't think it's set to become a favourite for me. The bottle bosts that it's good aged, the hop profile is so shallow I can't see it doing any harm, and it's cheap in my corner shop so I might just do that. I'll revisit in 2016. 4/5
